WELL! HAVE YOU EVER?

I thought I had seen it all in retail over the last 30 odd years, but obviously I haven't....in the beautifully revamped Foschini store at Gateway, check out their latest security measures to safeguard against the stock loss of  their expensive fragrances.
The beautiful "Fine Fragrance" section is somewhat spoilt as these "restraints", actually they are called "Safe Keepers", are fitted onto the stock that happens to fall in to the small, medium or large catagory....oops!
perfumes comes in a multitude of sizes, different shaped bottles and boxes...
I was informed though that different sizes were on their way.

The boxed fragrances are encased in an outer perspex "safe keeper".
It has a alarm security strip which will activate if the product plus case is taken out of the store. The perspex case is removed at the cash desk upon purchase, however I have a concern as to how long this process will take?
Imagine.. if you are stood behind someone at Christmas time that is buying several bottles of expensive "smellies" and they all have to be "unlocked".

I wonder how long it will be before lots of broken and deactivated perspex remnants are found around the store!

Oh! How the "honest masses" are yet again inconvenienced because of the
"dishonest minority"...
