BYTERRY HYALURONIC HYDRA - CONCEALER {REVIEW}

Not only have I added to my collection of BYTERRY products
recently, but I've also been successful in removing another beauty
product off my beauty wish list...

The
BYTERRY HYALURONIC HYDRA-CONCEALER
is a newish addition to the hugely popular HYALURONIC HYDRA range
 and is a collection of products that I just happen to adore.

Just to re-cap
BY TERRY was the first brand to encapsulate Hyaluronic acid in
a powder formula.
Fifteen years ago, Terry de Gunzburg took a fingertip portion of
pure lyophilised Hyaluronic acid and found herself amazed by
this ultra-fine white powder.
Fascinated by the lightweight, imperceptible, almost invisible texture,
 she decided to create an unprecedented product inspired by this raw material.
It took years to develop the formula for her now iconic Hyaluronic
Hydra-powder,
the flagship product of the Hyaluronic range.

This Hyaluronic family now includes tinted and pressed versions of the
 cult setting powder as well as a primer, a foundation, a concealer,
a new collection of Hydra Lipsticks and a face cream.

For now my personal Hyaluronic family includes the foundation,
the concealer and I really want to add the face cream, which is available
here in South Africa and although the Hydra Lipsticks are still to be
launched, they will both be added to my wish list very soon.

In a nutshell the Hyaluronic acid skincare concealer is an
 87% skincare based formula.
It Hydrates,
Disguises dark circles,
Plumps and blurs the skin,
Brightens and protects,
 Buildable coverage and finally its Long-Lasting.

Its unique formula of Hyaluronic acid locks moisture into skin, smoothing
 and plumping out fine lines while boosting elasticity.
Smartly combined with Horse Chestnut seed extract that stimulates the
micro-circulation, dark circles are instantly brightened, micro-vessels
are less visible, skin looks even.
Hydrophobic coated pigments ensure a long-lasting lumi-matte finish while
 the mineral coated powders complex provides a soft focus.

Available Internationally in 6 auto-adaptable shades.
The light, silky texture sets to a lumi-matte finish and my shade was
the well matched 400 Medium.
Here in South Africa we only have 3 shades:
400 Medium
500 Medium Dark
600 Dark

Packaged in a chunky pen you click to release the right amount of formula
onto the soft wide bristle brush and gently dab onto dark circles, blemishes
 and imperfections, fine lines and wrinkles.
Using your ring finger, tap lightly to gently blend.
Apply a second coat if necessary, as this concealer is easy to build.
The lightweight long lasting formula hydrates and is non-drying and
leaves a non cakey finish, which any of us mature ladies welcome, as so
 many concealers can be drying and as the day progresses leave a cakey
or creased look.
Something else we welcome is a concealer that brightens under the eyes
 and makes them look more awake and less fatigued and this one
 does just that.
Dark circles are disguised, which is my major concern, the fine lines and
redness are diminished and again is a box I seriously need ticking.

On paper it seemed like it was a concealer that truly ticked all of my
concealer boxes and being a sucker for treatment based make-up, so
how could I or anyone else not like it, well the truth is I absolutely
ADORE
this product and BYTERRY have nailed it again and I would go as far to say
 it's my No 1 concealer of all time.

ELEMIS PRO COLLAGEN ENERGISING MARINE CLEANSER {REVIEW}

 Cleansing milks, lotions and creams have always been my preferred way
to cleanse my skin, however over the years I have been slowly
converted to cleansing balms, liquid cleansers and facial washes.
Having a normal/dry skin cleansing milks still feature but I have introduced
 several balms/washes into my beauty regime and I now keep
on hand in the shower at all times.

The
ELEMIS PRO-COLLAGEN
ENERGISING MARINE CLEANSER
is a recent addition to their hugely popular PRO COLLAGEN range
 and I have been testing it for about a month now.
Pro-Collagen formulas provide intense, skin-plumping hydration to help smooth
 the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
World-renowned for having heavenly textures and delivering surreal results,
  this award-winning collection leaves skin looking firmer and more
youthful than ever.

This energising gel cleanser effectively removes daily grime,
make-up and impurities, whilst leaving skin with a youthful glow and no
signs of tautness that I have experienced in the past with similar products.

This luxurious gel cleanser helps energise the skin for optimum performance. Supercharged with minerals Magnesium, Zinc and Copper and a trio of acids,
 the advanced formula leaves the complexion looking beautifully revived
and rejuvenated.

It builds to a soft, rich lather to easily lift away make-up and daily grime
 without stripping the skin of essential moisture.
 The deep cleansing action helps reduce excess oil and minimises the
look of pores, for skin that feels rebalanced and invigorated.

How to use:
Use every morning and evening.
Massage a pea-sized amount into damp skin with fingertips.
Add warm water to create a lather.
Rinse off.

As I said earlier this cleanser already has its place in my shower, as I find it
 to be invigorating and cooling and perfect for my morning cleanse.
It has the iconic Rose & Mimosa aromas found in the
Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, which I do enjoy.
It made light work of make-up and worked well with my cleansing milks,
if I used as a pre-cleanse.
The gel feels luxurious, as did the lather that it created and I enjoyed
the convenient pump, as it enables you to control the amount that you
 dispense and I found just one pump to be sufficient,
as a little goes a long way, as this cleanser carries a luxury price.
My love of Elemis products continues.

NIMUE EXFOLIATING ENZYME {REVIEW}

Having never used any products previously from Nimue I wasn't
quite sure what to expect from the
Exfoliating Enzyme.
I did manage to get 3 applications out of the sample sachet and to be honest
I had made my mind up about this product after the first use.
Nimue Skin Care is a South African derma-cosmeceutical brand
developed in 1994
by leading skincare scientists, it was aimed at the medical market
but quickly evolved into a recognised professional skincare brand.
Nimue's powerful formulations treat the majority of skin concerns
such as lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme is a gentle exfoliating gel designed to lift dead
skin cells and decongest the skin to stimulate cell renewal.
The key word here is gentle, lets say it's very gentle,
formulated with Papaya and Pineapple enzymes to breakdown dead skin
cells and as always with an exfoliator it should leave the skin looking brighter, smoother and most importantly it improves post product absorption
 and ultimately treatment results.
This non fragranced, non-irritating and non-abrasive enzymatic exfoliation
 is suitable for all skin types including sensitive, as there is no risk
  of any over-exfoliation.

How to use:
Apply a small amount on clean dry skin, then activate the product with
 warm water by massaging the skin with wet fingertips, for 3-5 minutes.
Leave on the skin for an additional two minutes. Rinse skin well.
Use 2-3 times per week after cleansing.

Verdict:
I was very underwhelmed with this pricey product, as I saw and felt
absolutely no difference in my skin whatsoever and whilst the focus
 is on gentle, perhaps the emphasis is on gentle exfoliation
 post cosmetic procedures and perhaps this is when this product comes
into its own.
Considering how I'm always singing the praises
of exfoliation, sadly I cannot find anything to praise about this
particular one...

RECENT EMPTIES {AUGUST 2021}

 Whilst I enjoy letting you all know which products I have recently
and completely finished, I am not the most consistent, however
during this month of August I have written two "Recent Empties"
post which is a first...
The one product I forgot to include in my earlier post
and 2 of the products caught me completely by surprise when they came
to an end...

L-R

ELEMIS
PRO-COLLAGEN
OVERNIGHT MATRIX

This was the empty that I forgot to include and it's a product that
I was extremely sad to finish and that seems to be happening with
all of my ELEMIS products these days, which just goes to show
how highly I rate this skincare brand, especially for a mature skin.
I have yet to try one of their products that I have either not
thoroughly enjoyed and in many cases absolutely loved and this night
cream was a complete and utter love for me, as my skin responded
so well to all the ground breaking technology that it had to offer.

L'ORÉAL
LES CHOCOLATS
ULTRA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK

Despite having recently bought a back-up of this lipstick I was still caught
unawares when it finally came to an end, as it still looked like
it had plenty to offer.
Not being a huge fan of L'Oréal Skincare I am a lover of their colour and
this non drying matte formula and the shade, suits me and my lips
 perfectly, making it my daily go to and one that will always form
a basic in my lipstick collection...

BYTERRY
HYALURONIC HYDRA
FOUNDATION

I was completely shocked when this treatment foundation released its
the last few drops, as the bottle still looked full and only then did I realise
 that the glass is coloured the same as the foundation shade.
I was also slightly cross, as the sole stockist of BYTERRY here in
South Africa Metro Cosmetics very recently had a 20% discount and I
would have, without doubt, included a replacement in that order.

SUNDAY SAMPLE

 My favourite "all time" type of skincare product has to be a
 Face Exfoliator
and have personally used one weekly since I was in my very early 20's.
It offers instant results that you can both feel and more importantly see.
It's a key product that determines the effectiveness of all other products
and should be incorporated into everyone's skincare regime.

Over this coming week I will try out the
NIMUE EXFOLIATING ENZYME
hopefully I can manage to squeeze two applications out this
3ml sachet sample.

NIMUE was created back in 1994 by a South African Plastic Surgeon.
I also think this is the 1st product that I have ever used from
NIMUE
and it's always interesting to use a brand for the first time.
So pop back next Sunday to read my about the products
performance and my thoughts...

SORBET GET LIPPY MOISTURISING LIP COLOUR #TBT REVIEW

This #tbt review was 1st posted exactly 2 years ago today and I
see that Sorbet have increased their Get Lippy range to 16 shades
and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the prices have remained the
same on this product.

~~~~~~
I was initially drawn to this product because of its name,
as LIPPY is a term I use all the time,
so I just had to put this Sorbet GET LIPPY Lipstick to the test.
GET LIPPY Moisturising Lip Colour comes in 12 shades,
which isn't a huge selection,
but I was immediately drawn to my perfect shade - TRUE.
Sorbet also offer Matte Kisses Lipstick (6 Matte shades)
GET LIPPY is a beautiful, easy to wear, natural looking soft pink that
 I'm loving and it's one of those shades that will always find a place in
 my Lipstick wardrobe.
The first thing you will notice about the formula of this lipstick is how easily
 it glides over the lips and considering it's a moisturising lip colour it's
 surprisingly long wearing.
 Both nourishing and moisturising this formula contains coconut, lanolin, sun protection additives and anti-oxidant vitamin E to fight harmful free radicals.
This is now my 2nd Sorbet review this week and the final one will be up
on Sunday and considering my "not so good" review of the
 Face First Ant-Ageing Foundation last year my faith has been re
stored in this brand, as so far we have 2 out of 2 Winners...
LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK {REVIEW}
I've had 2 products from the Korean beauty brand LANEIGE on my
wish list for what seems like an eternity and I managed to get both of
them right here in South Africa very recently.
Having never reviewed any products here on Beauty Shout box
from this brand here is a brief overview...
LANEIGE means "The Snow" in French.
A Korean skin care and make up brand with innovative,
water-based formulas that deliver swift and noticeable results,
LANEIGE is the true authority on all things H2O, with the brand having
 spent over 25 years on unlocking the secrets to hydrated and healthy skin.
 How?
By delving deep into the depths of water science to create their very
 own ‘Advanced Water Complexes’.
Whether your complexion is naturally dehydrated, dull or slick with oil,
there’s an Advanced Water Complex to fully mop up your concerns.
Their water-rich recipes are unique and efficacious – ocean-brewed
with nutrient-dense vegetables, fuelled with moisture-enhancing minerals,
or cold-brewed and bursting with amino acids.
Their most iconic product is perhaps their award winning
Lip Sleeping Mask
that has a softening balm texture that closely adheres to lips
for quick absorption.
Enriched with vitamin C and antioxidants, Berry Mix Complex™ offers a
nutritiously sweet and fragrant blend of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry,
and blueberry extracts to indulge the senses.
Exclusive Moisture Wrap™ technology boasts hyaluronic acid and minerals
 to form a protective film over the lips to lock in moisture and
active ingredients.
A generous layer of this soothing overnight lip mask at bedtime helps
reduce flakiness and dryness, so you can wake up to lips that feel refreshed,
supple, and soft to the touch.
           Having used many times prior to it appearing on my           "Currently Under Review" post for August I can already see that this little pot will last and that's great on the purse.
Using the applicator(which comes in the box) apply hydrating lip mask
 to the lips in the evening and leave on overnight.
Gently wipe off or cleanse in the morning.
Can be used during the day if the lips are particularly dry.
Free of parabens and phthalates.
Available in several flavours I opted for the only one I could get
my hands on, which was the Berry and that would have been
without doubt my 1st choice anyway.
Whilst the fragrance is noticeable, it isn't off putting if you are not a huge
fan of "all things Berry"...
This leave-on lip mask delivers on what it promises in abundance and
it's so deserving of all its awards and accolades.
As I am a "lip product addict" of note, I couldn't love this lip mask any more,
as the softness, smoothness and hydration levels are literally next level.
It's like no other lip product that I have ever used before and for
seriously dry lips its a "must have" without doubt.
My only regret is that I didn't get my hands on one sooner.
I ordered mine from an online South African 3rd retailer
and they currently have the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask
on their Beauty Steals list for R330 instead of R550.
(I have ordered several products from them this year and have been
 happy with the both the ordering process and delivery.
They also have an Authenticity Guarantee)
LANEIGE is also available at Sephora and Cult Beauty.
SKOON.OH SHERBET! EXFOLIATING MASK {REVIEW}
SKOON. is a home grown skincare brand that
with a small, strong, women-led South African team are driving hard to
 offer more conscious choices with beauty secrets that for centuries
 have been handed down through generations of African tradition.
(SKOON means Clean in Afrikaans)
Formulated to revive and refine, nourish, replenish and bring you the
cleanest, kindest beauty on Earth.
Wherever possible, their lab on a farm near Cape Town chooses potent
 natural ingredients harvested sustainably in Africa.
Non-toxic, effective, clinically proven ingredients that are both ancient
and incredibly modern - and boosted by science-led thinking in formulating.
SKOON. is both Clean, Kind & Scientific.
I recently received my 1st SKOON product, a full size
OH SHERBET! Exfoliating Mask and Mask Brush
in a beauty box and whilst it wouldn't have been a product I would have
purchased I was glad to receive and put it to the test, as I had heard such
 good things about this mask.
The Azelaic Acid + Probiotic Clay Mask helps clears pores and exfoliate
dull skin.
OH SHERBET! Azelaic acid 10% exfoliating clay mask can be used
daily for breakouts.
Gentle Cape clay is super absorbent and will further help to mop up excess
oil and dry out bumps and blemishes.
Other ingredients include:
Kaolin
Azalaic Acid
Glycerine
Lactobacillus
Lemon Peel Oil
Lavender & Geranium Flower Oil
Although OH SHERBET! is a wash-off mask you can also spot treat
individual breakouts with dabs of clay mask and leave it on overnight.
 ◦ Gentle exfoliation - no harsh abrasions
 ◦ Mops up excess oil
 ◦ Reduces breakouts
 ◦ Anti-redness
Unfortunately I cannot comment on how well it deals with excess oil or
reducing breakouts, as at my age I don't suffer from these issues, so
I'm really reviewing the exfoliating & brightening aspect of this product.
This mask can be used either AM or PM by adding a small amount of
the blush tinged Sherbet clay powder into a small bowl, add a few drops
of water in order to create the active paste, which is then painted onto
a clean skin with the mask brush. (avoid the eye area)
The mask will change colour from the blush shade to a solid white
and as expected from a clay mask it will harden on the face.
It's left on the skin for 5-8 minutes before rinsing off with water.
Do expect some tingling.
I personally use this mask once every couple of weeks.
I thoroughly enjoyed the more traditional process of mixing
the mask and applying with a brush, as this was how masks were
created and applied during my beauty training back in the late 70's.
Not everyone will enjoy that "tight" feel of the mask, as it dries
and hardens, which is typical of a clay mask, but I certainly did.
It was easy to both apply and remove and had a pleasant
delicate rose fragrance.
I found the mask to be quite stimulating on my non sensitive skin
and it certainly increases the circulation, which wasn't an issue for me,
but maybe it would be for more sensitive skins.
As expected it refined, smoothed and brightened my skin and followed
 with any of my usual post exfoliation face masks, my skin always felt good.
I can only imagine how well this mask would work on an
oily and congested skin and as a specific overnight spot remedy.
Despite this mask not being 100% for my skin type I've grown
to love a little mask mixing and applying
with a brush, as it seems to add something extra to my
more leisurely pamper sessions and I highly recommend.
