Setting my make-up with a face powder is something that used to be

 such an important part of my daily make-up routine.

However that was back in the day and I haven't used a face powder

 since my late 20's.

In case you are wondering why I stopped using, I honestly

don't know, anyway I did, so it was nice to have this

to try and I couldn't have chosen a better brand to reacquaint  

myself with a face powder.

Just to remind you this award winning product was part of a

 Cosmetips Influencer Beauty Edit 

and it isn't a product that I would have necessarily purchased on its own.

I was taught back in the day that once you had applied, take your powder

brush and brush up the face and then brush down the face and this will

help to trap the fine particles under the fine facial hairs and help to

prolong the set of your make-up.

My oh my... 

face powders have come such a long way since I was an

 avid user and this particular one is comparable to applying silk to

 your skin.

It's super fine, weightless and just beautiful.

I was quite prepared to apologise for not being able to give you

any constructive feedback due to my lack of experience in using

face powders for the past 40 years, despite that I can honestly say

that this powder is pure powder bliss for the skin.

I'm not going to tell you that my skin looked absolutely flawless,

 as that's a tall ask at 62, but on a younger skin I'm sure it does.

My skin looked and felt good, it didn't feel dry and it certainly didn't 

sit in my lines and wrinkles, so that's certainly a 

WIN for the more mature woman amongst us...

BYREDO

is one of those fragrance brands that I find quite daunting, a little

reminiscent of the JO MALONE LONDON brand, as they both seem

 to have an endless line-up of fragrances, that all look the same and

I just know that much trial and error is needed before I hit on the

ONE that's for me.

That's why it is so important to try before you buy and considering the

prices its more important than ever.

My journey with JO MALONE was somewhat epic and after many

years and many tester sprays later, I finally hit on 2 that I now adore and

form part of my fragrance wardrobe.

My personal wardrobe consists of 4 fragrances that I have stuck with

 for several years now.

MOJAVE GHOST and whilst I liked it, sadly it failed to WoW me and

GYPSY WATER

This particular best selling fragrance Gypsy Water 

is an ode to the beauty of Romani culture and was formulated to waken 

a dream of colourful lifestyle made of innate nomadism 

and gypsy nights spent in the forest.

The ingredients include:

Top: 

Bergamot, Juniper Berries, Lemon, Pepper

Heart:

 Incense, Orris, Pine Needle

Base: 

Amber, Sandalwood, Vanilla

On paper this fragrance had so many ingredients that I normally

enjoy, but as we know they can be formulated in so many different ways

 and proportions.

As with many fragrances nowadays its vegan & genderless and a

matching body lotion/cream, hair fragrance and hand cream is available.

Unfortunately I experienced this fragrance to be very delicate and soft on

my skin, which was quite surprising considering it's an Eau de Parfum

and on a side note it certainly didn't awaken anything in me...

DERMALOGICA HYDRO MASQUE EXFOLIANT #TBT REVIEW

If you find that you are short on time when it comes to exfoliating

and masking then carry on reading as this could be the

product for you...

From breakout-prone and ageing skin to hyper-pigmented and dry, 

dehydrated skin, exfoliation is important to the health of all skin conditions

and is one of my favourite products that gives instant visible results.

DERMALOGICA HYDRO MASQUE EXFOLIANT

Is a hydrating and exfoliating five-minute masque that smoothes and renews

 for luminous, healthy-looking skin. 

DERMALOGICA

recommends pairing one day of intense exfoliation with seven days of 

gentle exfoliation to more effectively stimulate cell renewal rates, 

helping to reduce the signs of premature aging, improve skin texture, remove excess surface cells that clog follicles and brighten skin.

They offer a selection of chemical and physical exfoliants that range from

 gentle to more intense, there is a literally a Dermalogica Exfoliant 

for every skin condition.

I have reviewed several of their products over the years and I'm a huge

The ingredients sound quite exotic:

Exfoliating Bamboo

 primes skin for optimal hydration. 

Snow Mushroom 

holds 450 x its weight in water,

infusing skin with hydration, antioxidants and Vitamin D.

 Jojoba Ester and Amino Acids 

derived from Sugar Beets hydrate and help strengthen skin’s moisture barrier.

 Cucumber Extract 

provides a soothing, refreshing finish.

Apply generously to cleansed face and neck, avoiding the eye area. 

Massage in circular motions until spheres disappear. 

Let the masque activate for 3-5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and follow 

with your moisturiser. 

Use once or twice per week, or as recommended.

My preferred way to use was 5/10 minutes prior to jumping in the shower

and then I rinsed off, whilst showering.

The mask applies as a pale blue colour with tiny spheres that turn 

transparent as you massage on the skin.

It also feels cool on application and has a soft cucumber fragrance.

The packaging is quite unique as its an airless pump and you

press down on the squishy rubber top and you can also (down the side)

 see the amount either you've used or the amount you have left.

They say it has 12 applications, which equates to R112 per use,

which is on the pricey side.

This mask is quickly absorbed, feels comfortable, easy to rinse

and leaves your skin feeling smoother, hydrated and looking healthier.

If you are into premium skincare, lead a busy lifestyle and are

 looking for an effective, time-saving, multi-purpose, exfoliating product

then definitely do some research on this one...

AVÈNE GENTLE EXFOLIATING GEL {REVIEW}

I have been wanting to try this exfoliating gel from Avène 

for some time now, so I was pleased to receive it as part of a

recent PR drop.

Having lost track of how many exfoliating/scrubs for the face I 

have tried & reviewed over the years, I am hoping this offering from

 one of my favourite French skincare brands doesn't disappoint,

if it did, it would be the first product that would do so.

GENTLE EXFOLIATING GEL

You can expect this exfoliator to

calm and purify your skin to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion.

This one is suitable for all sensitive skin types and of course

non-sensitives like me...

The peeling effect is achieved with the inclusion of cellulose microbeads

 and jojoba wax gently eliminate dead skin cells.

 3% Niacinamide + 0.5% sodium salicylate aid the mechanical

 exfoliating action of the microbeads leaving the skin texture more 

refined and more radiant.

(It's an eco-friendly biodegradable formula)

Can be used twice a week, apply to a slightly damp skin,

massage and then rinse off.

In my opinion the inclusion of an exfoliating/scrub is a vital step in your

weekly skincare routine and a step that I have have religiously 

included since I was in my very early 20's.

I've enjoyed using this rich gel product and despite it being gentle, the

pink microbeads are abundant and noticeable, which I love.

It was way more effective than I expected it to be, as it left my 

skin feeling incredibly smooth.

If you don't use one, then do your skin a huge favour, as it will instantly

 elevate your beauty regime and your skin will not only feel 

smoother & softer, it will look brighter and render all of your skincare

 products more effective.

This one from Avène would make a perfect introduction to the

world of exfoliation.

In my younger years I always set my make-up with a loose

face powder, however for the past 15 years or so face powder was

dropped from my make-up routine and to be honest I haven't

missed it.

That being said, if I were going to re-introduce one it would

be this one from BY TERRY.

This full size product was part of one of the COSMETIPS Beauty Edit,

so I'm excited to try it out and report back to you with my views.

This is a new launch from AVÈNE and I do love a face mask and

the DERMABSLU is a collection of anti-aging products aimed at the

 more mature of us. 

It promises to give the skin an immediate fresh and tightening effect,

so it's another product that I'm enthusiastic to review and

report back to you about.

I have reviewed several REN products over the years, as I was on

their PR list, but sadly I've not been for a couple of years now,

and to be honest I have had other brands and products that

have either been gifted or I have bought myself that have 

intrigued me more.

However this full size product was included in one of

my COSMETIPS Influencer beauty edits.

I was a huge fan of their Perfect Canvas Serum, so I'm

curious to see how I enjoy this cleanser.

Part of my 2022 RITUALS Advent Calendar and I couldn't be more

excited to experience another Lip Balm and you all know

how much I love a good Lip Balm.

DR.VRANJES FIRENZE ROOM SPRAY {REVIEW}

Dr. Vranjes FIRENZE is, for me, the ultimate when it comes to home

 and even car fragrance and despite having one of their divine 

room diffusers for a couple of years now, I have never reviewed 

the brand here on my blog.

I was excited to receive a 25ml Rosso Nobile Room Spray in my

 SkinsCosmetics Christmas Box 2022.

Here is a brief overview of the brand:

Dr Paolo Vranjes

 a chemist and accomplished artisan perfumer, has developed a unique

 and world renowned range of luxury fragrances.

Inspired by his home city of Florence and the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany,

 Dr Vranjes artfully blends together pure natural ingredients with the 

world's finest essential oils to create stimulating and evocative fragrances.

In 1999, Maestro Paolo Vranjes chose to enter the world of perfumery

 by creating ambient fragrances.

The iconic bottle, created in 2008 was inspired by Florence - 

inspired by Brunelleschi's Dome, the bottle is a glass cast 

handcrafted by Florentine artisans.

Maestro Paolo Vranjes, who has headed the Maison for over 36 years, 

continues to dedicate himself fully to what he loves doing,

creating recollections and memories through scent.

There are many fragrance options that the Doctor has created, 

however Rosso Nobile is for me and for many, his best creation

of all and it's like no other fragrance that I have ever tried

and it's the best seller.

Like many good creations there's always a good story and this

creation is no exception...

The ambient fragrance of Rosso Nobile was created due to a challenge

 that a dear friend and wine maker proposed to Maestro Paolo Vranjes.

 He was convinced that the scent of a glass of red wine and its nuances

 could not be reproduced within a fragrance. 

He was forced to admit defeat a few years later when he was sent

 Rosso Nobile.

Rosso Nobile

 is a sublime combination between

 the sweet and fruity notes of grapes and berries, 

the soft notes of violet and magnolia,

 and tannin invoking birch wood. 

The scent of a Tuscan red is perfect to provide a relaxing atmosphere 

to living spaces.

There's no doubt that Rosso Nobile is a deep and rich fragrance, that

brings a luxurious warmth to any space, however I would alway

choose the room diffuser over the room spray, as the lingering fragrance

 pay off is just outstanding with the diffuser.

The room spray is a perfect back up to the diffuser for 

those occasions when you require that instant

burst of the beautiful Rosso Nobile fragrance into your room.

TATA HARPER REGENERATING CLEANSER {REVIEW}

 This will be my 3rd product review of 

TATA HARPER 

skincare products and so far we've had one hit and one miss.

The Regenerating Cleanser

is a daily cleansing & exfoliating treatment that buffs and polishes

 Best for dull, uneven, or congested skin.

This type of exfoliating daily cleanser appeals to me greatly,

especially if its a combined chemical and physical cleanser

which I'm happy to say that this is...

This creamy cleanser provides both physical and chemical exfoliation

 with apricot microspheres and BHA from white willow bark to give 

you a healthy looking, radiant glow.

I must make mention that the physical element is very gentle and

suitable for sensitive skins.

And just for good measure 

100% of the total ingredients are from natural origin.

80 % of the total ingredients are from Organic Farming.

COSMOS ORGANIC certified by Ecocert Greenlife

For best results, apply to dry skin and massage gently to 

activate and polish.

 Rinse thoroughly with warm water. 

Can be used daily AM & PM.

It can be used on all skin types.

This was, without doubt, one of the best smelling cleansers 

I've ever used, it was naturally fresh and citrusy and truthfully

 it lifted my mood instantly,

 whilst on the cleansing/exfoliating front it 

performed pretty well also.

My skin felt beautifully cleansed, yet not stripped or in need of

too much re-hydration.

I cannot comment too much on the de-congestion aspect of 

this cleanser, as my skin doesn't suffer from that.

I just know that as a combined cleansing and exfoliating

daily cleanser it buffed and brightened my skin and

if you are looking for a natural organic, yet luxury skincare brand,

 then you cannot go wrong with TATA HARPER and this cleanser

would be a perfect product to start with....
