REN ROSA CENTIFOLIA 3-IN-1 CLEANSING WATER {REVIEW}

Micellar waters have become a firm favourite of mine and there is such a 

good selection available now, that all skin types are catered for and it's a multi-tasking

product that can so easily be incorporated into every ones skin care routine.

I'm not a daily user of a Micellar water, but I often use when my skin requires 

that extra cleansing step, 

especially on those days where I've worn a heavier full face of make-up. 

Following my normal double cleanse, a quick wipe over with a cotton wool pad 

lightly soaked in Micellar Water ensures that every trace of make-up

 is thoroughly removed.

Another favourite time to use is in the morning, as my 3 in 1 quick cleanse,

tone product.

I enjoy the fact that they can be used as a cleanser on the face, eyes and lips.

Micellar Waters are a "must have" when travelling and convenient

 to keep in your gym bag.

I recently ordered this Rosa Centifolia 3-in-1 Cleansing Water from REN

on their online 40% off sale.
REN is a brand that I have recently become acquainted with and I am looking to
bring you more reviews in 2018.

REN started clean skincare 16 years ago with the goal of making skincare for everyone, 
even sensitive skin types.
 Their formula's are made with natural ingredients that don't irritate skin. 
Live clean. Bare all. 
That has always been the REN philosophy. 
Nothing unnecessary—just pure, pleasurable, clean ingredients that work. 

What REN claim:

 "A detergent free ‘beauty water’ that will remove everyday make up. 
Perfect for those with ultra-sensitive skin, the flower water acts as a
 cleansing agent to remove impurities and make up while toning the skin,
suitable for even the most delicate eye area. Skin feels purified, fresh, revived, 
and toned without tightness or dryness".

As I've said before in many of my blog posts I don't have a sensitive skin, 

but there are occasions where my skin does feel slightly more irritated and
just needs a little calming and soothing.
Products formulated for sensitive skins can usually be used by all skin types 
and I for one include several in my skin care regime and I also enjoy the fact that
they do not include several known skin irritants and this product is free from:

Parabens
Sulfates 
Phthalates 
Alcohol
Soap
& 
Detergent



This product has that wonderful REN rose fragrance, which I adore, however
I did find the aroma/fumes of the product to irritate my eyes slightly and I 
don't generally have any allergy issues, however I must point out that 
there was no irritation to the skin around my eye area.

The micellar water itself removed my make-up easily and certainly left me
skin feeling comfortable and clean.
Overall I enjoyed the product, but obviously I avoided my eye area, 
defeating the object ,for me, of it being a 3-in-1 cleansing water.
I will continue to use and finish the product, but only on my face, as I hate
waste and this product is on the high end in terms of price.
So unfortunately I won't be re-purchasing this product, but it won't stop me 
trying other products from REN.

If I were to mention ingredients that are sourced from 

White Mushrooms, Arnica Montana Flower and Bakers Yeast, 

you may think that I was about to share with you a food recipe, 

but you're mistaken, as these are the three KEY components of a new mask

 that was launched earlier this month by the Skincare brand REN

EVERCALM ULTRA COMFORTING 

RESCUE MASK 

This also just happens to be the first product from this brand

 that I have ever tried.

This new mask from their extensive EVERCALM range has been formulated

 with the REN exclusive complex of ingredients and as the name

 suggests its focus is to instantly and forever calm, soothe, moisturise

 and alleviate the key signs of a sensitive skin.

White Mushroom Extract:

 A naturally derived painkiller for skin and contains elements that act as a 

topical analgesics to effectively block the message of pain.

Arnica: 

Reduces redness, inflammation, burning and itching.

Beta-Glucan:

(Bakers Yeast) Supports skin’s natural immune and barrier functions and

is also a potent anti-bacterial and antihistamine.

I personally don't have a sensitive or over-reactive skin, but that doesn't 

mean that there haven't been times where my skin has reacted

to the sun or a stimulating product and as I've always said here on my

 blog that any skin type can use products 

formulated for a sensitive or allergic prone skin quite happily

 and I have several in my daily beauty regime that I just adore.

Let's just touch on what a sensitive skin is all about, as it can be highly reactive 

to physical, environmental and lifestyle factors.

 This could be seen and felt on the skin as redness, irritation, itchiness or dryness to mention just a few the symptoms.

Often these can be experienced on a daily and more permanent basis, 

whilst others experience these symptoms only occasionally.

I'm sure most of us have experienced skin sensitivity at some stage and I know

 that on those occasions, we look for a product to bring comfort and 

relief to the skin.

The REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask helps treat the cause of 

skin sensitivity, not just the symptoms, as it goes one step further to 

block the message of irritation to the brain, therefore preventing the

 symptoms that we see and experience as sensitive skin! 

With continual usage the mask will help to strengthen the natural protective 

moisture barrier, aid recovery and increase the skins own natural ability to cope 

with stress and ultimately re balance the skin.

Apply a generous amount 2-3 a week on clean skin, avoid the eye area and 

leave for just 10 minutes and then remove the excess 

with a damp cloth or cotton pad, follow with your usual skincare.

This product is cruelty-free, vegan, noncomedogenic, and formulated without gluten. 

Free from Parabens, Sulphates and synthetic fragrances, mineral oil.

This mask is packaged in a hygienically sealed pump container and it's

 easy to dispense an accurate amount of product (both of which I like)

The texture of the mask was surprisingly thick, yet creamy and somewhat 

heavier in comparison to other masks I've tried for sensitive and fragile skins.

Along with its clean fresh fragrance and its obvious "I've got a mask on" feel it reminded me of the "old style" non drying moisturising face masks

 and I have to admit it was a refreshing change to use.

It gives your skin that sensation of being bathed in soothing, calming comfort

 and I would imagine it would be an absolute blanket of relief to a 

stressed sensitive skin.

It left my skin feeling soft, whilst giving my skin a noticeable, more even tone.

This 10-minute rescue mask is a "best friend" for skin that is red, blotchy, 

irritated, sunburned, wind-chapped, dry, stressed, or jet-lagged.

I'm off on a beach holiday next month and this mask will definitely 

be coming along with. 

This mask doesn't come cheap, but for a truly reactive and sensitive skin this

 will be a small price to pay for the comfort, relief and ongoing strengthening 

that this mask will bring...

READY STEADY GLOW DAILY AHA TONIC (REVIEW)

Being a huge fan, for several years now, of the iconic PIXIE Glow Tonic 
(which I use once daily)

I felt somewhat of a Glow Tonic Traitor when REN announced back in 2018

 that they were launching in South Africa their 
Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic

Having used several products from REN before, its a brand that I enjoy, so I was hopeful that the Ready Steady Glow Daily would be a good replacement for the

PIXIE Glow Tonic, which by the way, just lives permanently on my UK shopping list.

Simply put this skin-resurfacing toner will exfoliate and brighten your complexion,
 Lactic Acid and Willow Bark extract work together to smooth, tone and help reduce the pore size, while Azelaic Acid will brighten and help to even out skin tone, so if
your skin is lacklustre, needing to get its glow on and some energy back, then this 
could be one for you to try.
I for one love incorporating this type of exfoliating toner into my daily skincare routine.

This product is recommended to be used by all skin types and used daily.
Just swipe onto a clean skin around the face and neck, but avoid the eye area
and then follow with your normal skincare regime.
The packaging of this product comes with the nifty press down pump making
dispensing life so much easier.

My experience:

 Unfortunately I've had a slight problem with this product, despite not having a sensitive skin and using the PIXIE Glow Tonic for so many years, I found the Ready Steady Glow Tonic to burn the skin around my nose and on the cheek area, which wasn't a good start.
I was only applying once a day, despite REN saying you can use 
morning and evening. I persevered for a couple of days and that initial burn settled to a tingle, which is normal and acceptable with this type of active product.
I did find some interesting advice that REN have regarding use on a sensitive skin:

"For sensitive skin, limit use to once or twice a week. 
Do not use alongside another exfoliator. 
A slight tingle is normal, but please discontinue use if you experience redness or burning. 
Not sure it is right for you but eager to try? 
Do a patch test beforehand in a less conspicuous area"

I have continued using in order to give the product a fair trial, but sadly this product just "didn't do it for me" it didn't get my "Glow On".
Personally I found it to be quite harsh on my skin and even after following with my usual night treatments, my skin felt dry and slightly uncomfortable, 
all of which I have never encountered with my PIXIE Glow Tonic.

So it seems that my PIXIE Glow Tonic will remain on my UK Shopping List for the 
foreseeable future...

I have really been enjoying several of the REN skincare products recently 

and I was intrigued with the latest addition to their range

After reading the above how could I not be intrigued by this product.

I'm not a huge user of make-up primers, but when I do use, I always look

 for a primer that gives you more in terms of benefits to the skin rather than

just a lovely primer to prolong the wear of your make up....

PERFECT CANVAS for me, has that important treatment aspect 

whilst priming your skin ready for make-up.

This clear lightweight serum, in keeping with the ethos of REN,

 is full of bio-actives and in this particular case we have the following

and their effects on the skin:

Probiotic Extract

 influences the speed and quality of epidermal

growth.It boosts the production of proteins and enzymes, which are

vital in maintaining the skins natural barrier.

Ultimately this ensures a healthier skin structure that's more hydrated, 

smoother

Hyaluronans

 are naturally found in the skin and increases hydration,the production 

of elastin and ultimately the depth of any wrinkles,

 as well as a short term lifting effect.

Agave Tequilana Extract 

Is a natural polysaccharide and has a filling effect and enables the product

to spread, whilst giving the skin a silky, smooth and mattifying effect.

The product itself comes in a matte finished 

glass dropper bottle that soon gets scratched and I must say it looked 

rather shabby and unfortunately not one to 

display proudly on your dressing table.

Let's put the negative about the packaging to one side, and move onto 

the application.

It can be used by all skin types

After applying your moisturiser apply a couple of drops onto your fingers

 and massage well into the skin until its absorbed. 

Don't rush this process otherwise you could be left with

some sticky areas and your foundation could "grab".

I rather enjoyed using it over my moisturiser "sans" make-up

to enhance my skin and occasionally I added a couple of drops 

into my moisturiser or BB cream.

I found it to be a versatile and useful serum. 

It does give a wonderful matte finish to the skin, which I was a little concerned 

about initially, as being older, I like that glowing radiant finish

but my concerns were soon forgotten, as with daily use my skin felt smoother, 

plumper,lines were softened and overall my skin just felt quite simply

 BETTER

and on those days I wore foundation, it was perfectly primed and ready.

Also being a silicone free formula, it just seems to allow the skin to

 feel free and breathe, so it's great for anyone who dislikes silicones

in their beauty products.

This product has set a high bench mark for future skin primers, as why

have an ordinary primer, when you can have a treatment primer.

However this serum/primer comes in at a higher price, 

but if you're into skin care like "moi" you can justify the price 

due to it being a "Treatment Priming Serum".

On one last note... I think the PERFECT CANVAS from REN

has the right to make those earlier claims as it is
