BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDARS 2016

It's fast approaching that wonderful time of the year and Christmas Advent Calendars are no longer restricted to just finding a surprise chocolate behind the numbered door, as over recent years an array of different types of beauty advent calendars have "popped up" containing either a selection of 12 or 24 beauty treats.

The calendars generally house a mixture of miniatures, trial or deluxe sizes and occasionally a full size of either fragrance,make-up, body, bath, nail products and beauty accessories and even though I love my chocolate give me a beauty advent calendar any day, well 12 or 24 to be more precise...

Beauty Advent Calendars are a "big" thing and often in limited supply and due to their popularity, it really is a case of "snooze you loose", so here is a heads up of what's already available or coming very soon.
Every year they just seem to get better and better and I literally want them all, but as you can see they tend to come with a hefty Christmas price tag.
Unfortunately many are not available here in South Africa, but if you have a fear of missing out, then you can order from the brands overseas websites.

I have already found my favourites and my eldest London 'kiddie wink"
is making a plan
(I hope, hint, hint Lee).

BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW - {OCTOBER 2016}

I seem to have a mixed bag of products this month to review, so I've changed my monthly post from "Skincare Products Currently Under Review" to "Beauty Products Currently Under Review".

CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW

1.

I've been on a bit of a make-up spending spree recently and it all started off with the benefit Cosmetics Sugarbomb Blusher , which I'm loving, as I do with most benefit products.
I actually feel I'm turning into a real benebabe, but until I find another brand that delivers more enjoyment and pleasure, then I'm happy to be called one!
Full review will be posted soon...

Another benefit product under review this month is their fake up Hydrating Under Eye Concealer, which sounds promising, but as always I will let you know my thoughts on my blog soon...

I've been toying with the idea of trying a liquid lipstick for sometime now, but I'm a complete lover of the glossy, creamy and moisturizing type of lip products.
I've also read so many negative reviews that I'm hesitant to waste my money, but after much research this Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick from Stila appealed to me, so hopefully it's a winner and I will let you know very soon as to whether I'm a convert or not...

As I have said before many times on my blog I must be one of the few people on earth that isn't a huge fan of The Body Shop, but after saying this I accidentally discovered their Shea Body Mist and I have fallen in love with both the fragrance and the price of R150
Review to follow soon...

Not really falling under make-up, I'm slotting in these two nail polishes from the Woolworths brand JT❤️One.
I'm not expecting too much, as they only retail for R29.95, but I do love the colours, so I will keep you posted as to whether I overspent or not...

L'OCCITANE SHEA FACE SOOTHING FLUID {REVIEW}

Some months ago I was sent the L'Occitane Shea Face Soothing Fluid to review and after using "on and off" during the very mild Durban winter I've finally gotten around to posting my review.

Just to give you some background info, L'Occitane discovered the "wonders" of Shea Butter back in the early 1980's, which by the way is harvested in a sustainable and fair trade partnership with the women who produce it, in Burkina Faso Africa.
Shea Butter is an important core ingredient used throughout many products in L'Occitane, whether it be for the face, body or hair and offers wonderful natural benefits that both protect and nourish dry and dehydrated skins. Shea Butter not only accelerates cellular renewal, but it's known to repair the hydrolipic film by acting as a barrier for skin, therefore helping to prevent moisture loss, whilst maintaining those all important optimum skin-hydration levels.

Shea nuts and butter

The product name - Shea Face Soothing Fluid, suggests a light fluid consistency, whereas I found it to be more creamy than fluid, yet it left an incredibly light veil of nourishing moisture on the skin.
It's packaged in a convenient and easy to control pump dispenser ,which helps to protect both the integrity and the stabilisation of its contents. As with all products that contain Shea Butter, the lovely natural baby soft fragrance comes through and immediately conjures up feelings of comfort and soothing softness and that's exactly what this product does.

Shea Face Soothing Fluid R690 40mls

The Shea Face Soothing Fluid has been especially formulated for skin that is sensitive or weakened by damaging environments, which can lead to tightness, discomfort, redness and even a burning sensation. Thanks to a natural complex of protective active ingredients (rosehip and calendula) combined with shea butter (5%), the Shea Face Soothing Fluid helps to comfort skin and provide triple daily protection against:

• helps to nourish dry skin and optimise skin's barrier function

• helps to soothe the skin

• helps to strengthen skin’s natural defences

Hopefully as you are reading this and if all the above resonate with you, then look no further as you could have  just been introduced to the perfect product and range to assist in getting your skin back on track.
Whilst my skincare priorities are more focused on anti Ageing, this particular product has its benefits for me during specific times. One of those such times would be during trips to colder climes, where I feel that the Shea Face Soothing Fluid would provide that much needed extra protective barrier underneath my usual anti Ageing cream or during times where my skin feels temporarily irritated.
As we in South Africa are fast approaching the heat of our summer, the Northern hemisphere is approaching the cold winter and now is an ideal time to start adjusting your skincare routine to counteract the environmental damage and stress that a change of season can annoyingly bring.
The Shea Face Soothing Fluid can be used alone or used under your normal cream and is non Comodegenic.

I for one, am a huge fan of all things Shea and cannot rave enough about its magical powers, so if you would like to know more about this and other products in the Shea Skincare collection then visit a consultant in a L'Occitane Boutique countrywide or
