SUNDAY SAMPLE

Having been given this MOLTON BROWN fragrance sample
by Skins Cosmetics, I'm looking forward to trying a new fragrance and
using a sample is the very best way.

I don't think I have tried any Molton Brown fragrance before, so this
will be a first.

I'm already a huge fan of the same Fiery Pink Pepper Bath & Shower Gel,
but if there is one thing I've learnt over the years, that doesn't guarantee
I will enjoy or even like the Edt format.

Pop back next Sunday to find out if it was a "Hit or Miss"

QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEW {QPR} JANUARY 2022

Considering it's only 3/4 months since I last posted a QPR
Quickie Product Review, I didn't have too many products that warranted
a Quickie Review, hence why I've only 1 product to include in todays post.
With hindsight I could have dedicated a full review to my 1st
product from this brand, as I've enjoyed it so much and I do have plans to
try a couple more products and I will do full reviews of those.

1.

Brand : Skin Proud
Product : Icicle Cooling Eye Serum Stick
Price : R330
Size : 10g

I ordered this product online from Woolworths,
not knowing anything about the brand Skin Proud, but the name of
the product just spoke to me Icicle Cooling Eye Serum Stick
it also helped that Woolworths were having a less 30% site wide
for Black Friday.

After doing some research the creator of Skin Proud is
British Entrepreneur Charlotte Knight, who is also the person behind
Ciate London and Lottie London.
It's aimed at a younger demographic and Skin Proud believes in being transparent, cutting out the confusion, whilst being easy to use,
100% vegan and clean products, with straight to the point ingredients.
The product packaging reminds me a little of Glossier.

Featuring a five-part hyaluronic acid complex, this instantly cooling balm
freshens and tightens, whilst helping to lock in hydration for healthy
 under eyes.
The unique balm-like texture can be used on bare skin or added
over make up for an instant pick me up when your eyes are feeling tired.

Now this product hasn't replaced any of my current eye treatments,
but it's rather a welcome extra addition.
If you are a "first timer" with an eye product, then this is a great one.
I personally find it so easy to just pick up and apply
several times a day, as I adore the packaging, the swipe around the
eye application and its instantly cooling effect.

I have almost finished and I've now resorted to digging down
into the container, which only goes to prove how much I have been loving it,
and I will for sure be re-ordering.

Verdict : 9/10

MY TOP 5 MAKE-UP PRODUCTS 2021

I've only 5 Make-Up products on my 2021 list, which is down from
6 products in 2020 here
and that maybe due to the fact that I have been
more discerning with my make-up purchases during the past year
and to be honest I'm getting to a point where I feel that I have really
found some wonderful products over the past few years and I'm loathed
to try anything new unless it speaks to me and I mean strongly
speaks to me.
Fortunately, these 5 below did and I wasn't disappointed and would
highly recommend.
Apart from the BURT'S BEES the rest all fall into the Luxury category
and two of the product were first time brands for me
As in 2020, I have 2 products from BY TERRY and I can assure you that
more will be appearing on my Top 2022 list.

Don't forget to Click on the Pink Links below to catch up on my
 Original Reviews.

1.

BYTERRY
BRIGHTENING CC PALETTE
BEACH BOMB

I deliberated somewhat as to whether I should buy this palette
or not and I'm so glad that I finally saw the light, as this
has been my "go to" since I purchased it back in September.

Presented in a rose-gold embossed palette, which just oozes luxury, feels
so comfortable in the hand and has a great large magnifying mirror in the lid,
which I do use, as many I don't.
I'm happy to report back that all the colours have been used equally either
on the cheeks, face and I often apply as eyeshadow.
The colour pay off is good and true and they're easy to apply and blend
and I'm so happy with this multi-tasking palette.
It was a Limited Edition, but I see online that they are still available.

2.

BY TERRY
HYALURONIC
HYDRA CONCEALER

My collection of BY TERRY products has grown with each year and
I was excited to add the Hyaluronic Hydra Concealer back in August.
Along with a mascara, concealer is perhaps one of my most used
make-up items, so it's fair to say that I love a good concealer.

In a nutshell the Hyaluronic acid skincare concealer is an
 87% skincare based formula.
It Hydrates,
Disguises dark circles,
Plumps and blurs the skin,
Brightens and protects,
Buildable coverage and finally its Long-Lasting.

On paper it seemed like it was a concealer that truly ticked all of my
concealer boxes and being a sucker for treatment based make-up, so
how could I or anyone else not like it, well the truth is I absolutely
ADORE
this product and BYTERRY have nailed it again and I would go as far to say
it's my No 1 concealer of all time.

3.

CHANEL
LES BEIGES
FRESH-WATER TINT

Again this was another Luxury product that I dilly-dallied over
partially due to the price and did I need this type of a "barely there"
type of face tint product.
Well it appears that I did and I've been loving it, especially during
these hot Summer months.
This was also, my first purchase ever of a Chanel Beauty product.

This lightweight, hydrating and instantly refreshing, the ultra-light formula
is composed of 75% and can be used either on its own,
under or over foundation.
I personally have only tried the "use on its own" method and it's like
no other product that I have ever tried and whilst it offers zero coverage
it does reveal a radiant, healthy, glowing and hydrated complexion
and I absolutely love everything about this product,
with one exception...THE PRICE! and if your beauty budget can stretch,
then again, I highly recommend.

4.

DIOR
LIP ADDICT
LIP GLOW BALM

I am a self confessed Lip Balm addict , as I have said on many occasions
and I am never too far away from one, however of late I have been
"pushing out the spend boat" with this
 DIOR LIP GLOW LIP BALM
This was also my first DIOR spend for many a year.
Considering the price I was expecting great things from this product and
on paper it looked promising, as this is the 1st Dior lip balm formulated
 with 97% natural-origin ingredients that
subtly revives the natural colour of lips with a custom glow for 6h and
hydrates the lips for 24h.
Multi-use, Dior Addict Lip Glow can be worn on its own as a lip balm
or as a primer under lipstick, however I tended to wear it alone.

Did it turn out to be as promising on the lips as it did on paper?
Yes it did and this product may have ignited a DIOR flame
to try further Lip Addict products and shades.

5.

BURTS BEES
LIP BALMS

During 2021 I was introduced to the USA brand BURT'S BEES and have
since become a huge fan of their Lip Balms.
I have cheated a little, as I have 3 favourites, so I've listed them all
under one. I have even included their Cuticle Cream in my
Top Hair & Body Products of 2021.
In my opinion they have nailed ''all things'' lip balms and whether
you are looking for a traditional moisturising natural lip balm, one with
a shimmer or a tinted lip balm you really can't go wrong with the
BURT'S BEES products, after all they have been perfecting their
Lip Balm art since 1984.

MY TOP 5 HAIR & BODY PRODUCTS {2021}

I have reduced the number of My Top Hair & Body product
recommendations for 2021 from a previous 10 to 5, partially due to
me trying less products in this category and also I want to keep
this list to the very best. I have also added a couple products that
don't really fit into this category, but I wanted to include, as I
recommend them highly.

I have already posted my Top 4 Most Disappointing Products of 2021
I will also be posting
My Top Skincare and My Top Make-Up Recommendations
very soon.

These products below are in no particular order and I will link the
 original full reviews
 in the Pink Links below

1.
CHRISTOPHE ROBIN
CLEANSING PURIFYING SCRUB WITH SEA SALT

I have reviewed several products from the French haircare brand
Christophe Robin. My latest review was on their Purifying Sea Salt Scrub
and I cannot love this product anymore.
In short it's a scalp exfoliator and shampoo that cleanses, removes buildup,
and soothes sensitive, flaky, and oily scalps and its the type of product
that I had been looking for.
I'm 100% sold on this product, as it left my hair and scalp feeling incredibly
fresh, clean and more importantly for me, my hair felt light, almost
weightless, which has never happened previously with any other
 hair products.

2.
BURT'S BEES
LEMON BUTTER
CUTICLE CREAM

I do a love a good Cuticle Cream and during 2021 I reviewed this
Lemon Butter one from the USA brand BURT'S BEES.
Everything about this handy little tin of lemony freshness was
pure pleasure to use and it left my dry cuticles feeler much softer
and more nourished, so if your cuticles have been neglected then
I highly recommend that you give them a treat this Winter,
your cuticles will love it...

3.
KÉRASTASE
GENESIS DEFENSE
THERMIQUE BLOW DRY PRIMER

Having used a heat protecting/detangling product for many years
I have been loving and using this product all year and it does last a long time.
DEFENSE THERMIQUE is an Anti hair-fall intense fortifying blow-dry fluid
for weakened hair, prone to falling due to breakage.
I would highly recommend, as it made detangling a breeze and my hair felt
nourished and soft whilst not feeling coated or weighed down and then there is
that amazing fragrance.

4.
TATA HARPER FACIAL
AT THE OYSTER BOX HOTEL SPA

I understand this inclusion is a little out of this category but I really wanted
to mention my TATA HARPER facial at the Oyster Box Spa,
as it was a highlight of 2021
and I highly recommend if your budget stretches.
I opted for the TATA HARPER Illuminating Facial (75mins).
The facial also included a welcoming foot cleansing ritual
and a much needed hand and arm massage, which took the pamper
session to another level of sublime.
The coming together of an award winning spa and a luxury organic
range of skincare products is an absolute match made in heaven
and that's just how I felt for 75 minutes...I was in facial heaven.

5.
THE WHITE COMPANY
WINTER CANDLE

This is another random that doesn't have a category, so I've included
into the Hair & Body group.
I included this candle in one of my QPR posts (Quick Product Review)
back in September and it scored 10/10 and I just had to include it.
I'm a HUGE perfumed candle fan and always have been long before
I started my blog and I burn through many over the course of a year.
This iconic Winter candle from The White Company is perhaps their most
popular and I just adore it and thankfully my London "Kiddiewink"
has ensured that I have another one to burn for 2022.
It's a magical combination of spicy cinnamon, rich warming clove
and fresh zesty orange which creates the perfect Christmas candle.
The fragrance pay is great and the candle burns very evenly and everything
about it makes me so happy.

BY TERRY BAUME DE ROSE HAND CREAM {REVIEW}

I predict that 2022 will be a BYTERRY year here on Beauty Shout Box,
already this is the 2nd review that I've posted.
Read that review here

Thanks to my BYTERRY Beauty Advent Calendar 2021 I have plenty
more products to review and post, however if you would like to read
my previous BYTERRY product reviews

If you were not a huge fan/user of hand creams pre-covid, I'm sure you
are now, after nearly 2 years of sanitising our hands its become a necessity.
I know that I have finished several over this time and I have to say
"there are great ones and not so great ones"
fortunately this one today falls into the GREAT category, as do most
of the products in the Baume de Rose range...

I have been wanting to try the
BYTERRY Baume de Rose Hand Cream
for sometime and sadly it never happened due to my facial products
winning where the budget was concerned.
That was until I opened one of the doors on my Beauty Advent Calendar
and you can imagine my joy as it revealed a full size
Baume de Rose Hand Cream.

The iconic concentrated signature rose formula combines:
 Rose Butter
Rose Blossom Essential Wax
 Rose-hip Oil
 Black Rose Extract
 and
Pastel Rose Extract
that work together to intensively moisturise, rejuvenate and nourish dry,
cracked hands making them silky soft, smooth and supple.
The formula is also enriched in soft focus powders and corrective
optical prisms
for smoothing, unifying and rejuvenating effects.
It can also be used to condition, strengthen and protect cuticles and nails.

This pink lightweight, yet velvety-rich formula glides on effortlessly, is quick
absorbing and leaves that all important, non-greasy finish.
Your hands are left feeling beautifully silky soft, smooth, moisturised
 and smelling of beautiful roses...
Simply the Baume de Rose Hand Cream is pure luxury for the hands.

INOAR +AMOR -SODIO TREATMENT MASK {REVIEW}

A couple of days ago I reviewed the Shampoo of the same name
to read my full review and now it's the turn of the Treatment Hair Mask,
which is also 100% VEGAN

INOAR +AMOR -SODIO TREATMENT MASK
The key Active Ingredients Tribulus Terrestris, a herb rich in vitamin C
and Banana Flower Oil, which is a natural source of Potassium and are
both found in the shampoo and are carried through into the conditioning
hair treatment mask.
For this intensive treatment, the mask contains more concentrated
natural oils for immediate and deep nutrition.

After my first application I wasn't overly impressed, so on the 2nd
use I increased the amount I applied and left it on longer than the
recommended 3 minutes and WOW what it difference that change made.
I actually used the mask last night and my hair, as always after using,
feels incredibly soft, shiny and fuller.
It leaves no oily coating on the hair shaft, so the hair doesn't
feel weighed down with product and now that I have my
correct dosage and timings worked out, my hair smells & feels great
every time and my hair appears to be truly loving this mask.

MY TOP 4 MOST DISAPPOINTING BEAUTY PRODUCTS 2021

Fortunately the "Disappointing" category is the one that I have
 the least trouble compiling,
hence why it's always the first "Top" post to be published here on my blog.
I have been uploading my annual "Top" posts since 2013 and these lists
highlight my top tried and tested beauty recommendations, which hopefully
assists you when deciding where to allocate your beauty budget spend.
If you would like to see my past "Top" beauty product posts then

I have found that with age that I do more and more research into
beauty products before buying, which results in less disappointments
and ultimately less money wastage.
That being said, I am contradicting myself now, I have increased this years
number of products from 3 to 4.

The reasons for disliking a beauty product can vary immensely and my
experiences are personal to me and may not apply to you, in fact you
may disagree totally with my findings and that's ok.

Whilst some dislikes are due to being totally let down after buying into
the over-hyping on social media, other reasons could be due to
me not enjoying the texture, poor performance, packaging fail or even the
fragrance not being to my liking.
All will be explained if you click on the Pink Links below to read
my full reviews.

Considering the amount of products I review in a year I still
think 4 "Disappointing" products is pretty good going and I must
clarify that I am not saying that my Top 4 are bad products, they're
beauty products
that disappointed me for one reason or another, however in the
case of all 4 products below I have not been able to finish any of them
and I will no doubt be donating soon.

1.
LANEIGE
WATER SLEEPING MASK

This was a face mask that I had lusted over for several years and having
finally acquired one I was excited to try for myself and see why everyone
raved about this cult Korean Beauty product.

So you can imagine my disappointment when I first tried this mask only
to find that it didn't agree with my skin whatsoever...whilst the cooling,
lightweight gel formulation and the fragrance are great, my skin soon started
to feel uncomfortable and tingly and I had to remove, as I certainly wasn't able
to sleep with this mask on.

I actually waited a couple of weeks and tried again and I had more success
this time, as I didn't experience any sensitivity and I was able to sleep
with the mask overnight, however the expectations of waking with "soft, radiant
and glowing skin" didn't happen, as I woke with extremely parched, dehydrated skin,
the exact opposite of what the mask claims.
I tried this mask a total of 3 times, as directed, and its sadly had its time
with me and I won't be using it again, as I fail to see the fascination and hype
 of this mask.
Sadly this is another product I won't be finishing.

2.
KÉRASTASE GENESIS
FONDANT RENFORÇATEUR

I purchased this product as part of a 3 product gift set during
December 2020 and I posted my review back in Feb 2021.

As with the entire GENESIS range of products this
Anti Hair-fall Fortifying conditioner is for weakened hair that's prone to
falling due to breakage and the range excited me, especially after using the shampoo
it left me with high hopes for this conditioning product.

My hair felt overloaded with product, despite following the usage instructions,
and left, what I can best describe as a greasy coating on my hair that
made my hair appear greasy and lank and was not the look I was going for.
My hair was easier to detangle post washing, but unfortunately
it came at a price. I actually haven't finished this product, which says a lot,
as I like many I don't like to waste product or money.

3.
AÄ’SOP
CITRUS MELANGE
BODY CLEANSER

This was a very recent review and unfortunately it snook onto my list at
the 11th hour and once again I had high hopes for this product from the
much loved and revered Australian Luxury skincare brand AÄ’SOP.
I tried a 30ml Travel size that was part of my
HARPERS BAZAAR Beauty Edit
Box

Whilst the gel texture felt rich and luxurious and the product seemed to do
its job of cleansing the body, but nothing remarkable, I wasn't too partial to
the botanical fragrance and to be honest it wouldn't warrant a purchase from me,
as I couldn't get past the smell and overall it was fairly underwhelming.

4.
CLARINS
WATER LIP STAIN

No doubt many will disagree with me on this inclusion and
sadly this was my first product to go onto the list of
Most Disappointing Products 2021
and I’m annoyed at myself  as I broke all of my own rules on this one.

I had a voucher that was about to expire and I headed off to use the
voucher against a beauty purchase and in my mind I was looking for a lip tint
that wouldn’t smudge under my face mask and at least give your lips some
colour without wearing an actual lipstick, simple you may think but during a
worldwide pandemic and with the removal of all testers it wasn’t.

I was unable to feel the texture or see how the shade looked on my hand,
so I was literally guessing as to which shade to opt for and I decided
on the Rose Water.
Despite the colour being totally unsuitable for me it does deliver
on the "Stain" claim, as it stains all day, it doesn't budge for anything.
I found, initially, on application it to be comfortable on the lips, but I soon
experienced dryness and felt the need to apply a lip balm over the top.
This is another purchase that I cannot finish.

Let me know in the comments below if you have any thoughts on
my above choices.
