Avène is a skincare brand that I have reviewed often on my blog and it's certainly become one of my favourite affordable French brands.
I was recently sent a tube of their newly launched
Hydrance OPTIMALE Hydrating Skin Tone Perfecting Cream
Hydrance OPTIMALE Hydrating Skin Tone Perfector Rich |
Firstly this product is not a tinted moisturiser, it's a multi-tasking
Hydrating Skin Tone Perfecting cream that contains
a combination of mineral and illuminating pearlescent pigments that instantly enhances and corrects skin tone imperfections.
These pigments are only activated when you warm the product between your fingers before use, so don't apply directly onto the skin and expect to achieve a wonderful glowy look, however correctly applied my skin had a visible luminescence radiance, which I absolutely loved.
You will notice that the cream looks quite orangey out of the tube, but the colour does adapt to your natural skin tone once warmed and applied to the skin and gives, in most cases, a subtle tint to the skin.
I found this to be the case with my skin tone and it worked well.
With regard to correcting skin tone imperfections I feel that it's a tall ask for my mature skin, but on a younger skin I've seen that it corrects and evens well.

Secondly this product is formulated to hydrate the skin
and the combination of the 2 actives, Meibosérine and Lipomucine® ensures a even diffusion of the Avène Thermal Spring Water(which is the core ingredient of the Avène range), and helps to prevent unnecessary evaporation from the skin. As we know a lack of water in the skin leads to dehydration, which in turn causes your skin to look dull, lifeless and ultimately causes the formation of dehydration lines.
Thirdly the addition of the SPF 30 photoprotection helps to shield the skin from the harmful effects of UV exposure and is a vital addition in any day time use skincare product.

Light – for normal to combination skin.
Rich – for dry skin.I was given the Rich texture to try and it didn't feel overly heavy and my skin felt nourished, comfortable and hydrated.
I found myself using this product regularly on those days where I wasn't wanting to wear full make-up and I even used on several occasions under my foundation to give that extra radiant and hydrated finish.

Not normally a fan of multi-tasking products I do like this one, as it seems to perform each task well and best of all it feels great on my skin.
Avène do recommend that for the absolute optimal hydration, to use in conjunction with Avène Thermal Spring Water & Hydrance OPTIMALE Hydrating Serum.
I am currently using the Hydrating Serum and my review should be up on this blog next month and the Spring Water has been a daily use product of mine now for well over a year.
If you suffering from a dehydrated and lacklustre skin then this skincare trio, used daily, will work wonders for your skin and all for an affordable price.
