Perhaps the most popular, much loved and needed make-up items in the market place today... is the 'Mascara".
Fortunately or unfortunately there are literally hundreds out there to chose from and it's not easy. Brands are constantly improving on both the formula's and the applicator brushes in order to gain both our spend and long term loyalty.
I, for one, am always on the look out for mascaras that will "do it all" I like most women are quite demanding and require a mascara to lift, lengthen, curl and volumise and be clump-free and I mustn't forget, that all important perfect brush size and shape.
We really do demand a lot from a mascara...
Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara |
For the past week I've been putting the Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara from Lancôme to the test, to see if it delivers on its claims to
"coat every single lash for a volumised, extended, lifted look".
As soon as I slide the wand out of the tube I get a my first indicator, as to whether I'm going to like the mascara or not. My biggest turnoff with a mascara is a large thick bristled brush that's overloaded with clumpy product.
Cone shaped brush |
The sleek, quality packaging, adorned with the iconic Lancôme roses both felt and looked good in the hand
(as it should do for the high end price).
It was just so refreshing to use the Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara, as it had a more traditional cone shaped brush, that was smaller, delicate and more precise to use. It was reminiscent of how mascara brushes use to be, before the multitude of different brush wands appeared on the market.
The cone shaped brush seemed to pick up an ideal load of product with each application and evenly coated the lashes without weighing them down. The exclusive FiberShineTM formula enriched with nylon fibres was also easy to build and without a clump in sight.
The nylon bristled brush also allowed for easy access into the inner corners of the lash line and the lower lashes, which is important, especially for older women with sparse lashes, as you can never get into the corners with the larger brushes without it being a major clean up afterwards.
The Doll Eyes was an absolute pleasure to use, as it did coat and separate every single lash beautifully, whilst at the same time curling and lifting the lashes resulting in a more
"Doll" wide eyed appearance.
If you enjoy a more slim-line brush applicator that allows for precision application without the "overload" then check out the Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes Mascara.
