BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW {OCTOBER 2019}

September has been a busy month with an overseas trip, which can only mean one thing,
I have several products to put to the test and I know I say this every month,
but I do have some great products to review and they include several skincare products, one hair product and two make-up items from my fave cosmetic brands.

benefit
hello happy
Flawless Brightening Foundation
&
Boi~ing
Cakeless Concealer

benefit have recently launched two new products, a foundation and a concealer
and being a huge fan of benefit concealers I had to put their new Boi~ing addition
to the test and will it make it onto my next Top 3 Concealers list

The hello happy foundation reached out to me with the words flawless & brightening,
so stayed tuned to BSB to see if I love the concealer as much as the others and if the foundation delivers on the flawless & brightening.

Living Proof
Perfect Hair Day
Dry Shampoo

Having reached for this dry shampoo, lifting it off the shelf several times, whilst overseas,
it finally made it into my shopping basket.
I have reviewed the Living Proof Restore Mask earlier in the year and really enjoyed
the product,
To read my review
so I was happy to give their Dry Shampoo a try, despite being on the pricey side.

ELEMIS
Rehydrating Rose Petal
Cleanser
&
Rehydrating Ginseng
Toner

I've had my eye on purchasing some Elemis skincare products recently and despite knowing of this very reputable British skincare brand for many years, I had only
ever used a body oil and that was years ago.
I thought a good place to start would be with the basics and that's with a
cleanser, toner and eye product, which is currently under review.

BY TERRY
Baume de Rose
Lip Care

This product has been on my Beauty Wish List for several years, possibly longer than any other and has been
in and out of my shopping basket, so many times.
Finally I have one,so I can cross it off my list and being a lip balm addict I have high hopes
for this much internationally praised product.

I use the BY TERRY Brightening CC Serum most days, which I just love, so I hope my love
for the brand continues with the Baume de Rose.

MARY COHR
Expert Face Sculptor
Slimming,reshaping serum-cream

Several weeks ago I reviewed the MARY COHR Incredible Hydrating Cream
I.H.C and I adored it
to read my review
The texture of the cream was amazing and more importantly it made
my skin feel super hydrated and as I said in my review "
it was an absolute pleasure to apply"
so I'm excited to try this slimming, face sculpting serum, as any of my mature readers
will know all too well, that our faces retain more fluid and look
puffier with advancing years.
Here's hoping that this product will help with this issues as it says it will do...

MY TOP 3 CONCEALERS {AUGUST 2019}

Concealers just like mascaras can be a bit of a "hit and miss" affair for most of us
and I've had my fair share of "misses".
As with mascaras we are demanding so much more from a concealer, we want it
to conceal darkness, cover up redness, camouflage spots, freckles and blemishes, illuminate, moisturise, be a perfect colour match, it mustn't settle in our lines and wrinkles, in a nutshell we are demanding that it literally eradicates every flaw that we don't like to see on our face.

What works for one doesn't necessarily work for all and over the years I have found that these top 3 concealers work best for me, depending on what I'm looking to conceal, bearing in mind that I'm not discussing any coverage of spots or pimples, as I don't have
any to cover.

This list is always work in progress and as I discover new concealers, that I love then,
 the list will change and I'll update you over time.
As always follow the Pink Links for my original reviews
*N.B. Prices may have changed*

1.

Collection
Lasting Perfection
Concealer

Unfortunately this concealer is not available in South Africa and I only got to hear
about via UK beauty bloggers and all the hype is justified.
It's long wearing, conceals well, non drying, transfer proof, water resistant and best of all its as "cheap as chips".

2.

Benefit
Boi~ing
Industrial Strength
Concealer

In my opinion benefit are the best when it comes to concealing, so if you're not sure where to start then pop along to a benefit counter to check out their super selection of concealers for literally all concerns.
INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH CONCEALER which, as its name suggests,
 is a full coverage "conceal it all" type of product and it's my favourite.
This is my "go to" for those serious under eye cover up situations, especially after late nights or the redness around the nose or to cover up broken capillaries, pigmentation
etc.

3.

benefit
Airbrush
Concealer

I did say that benefit are the best where concealing products are concerned and here's another of their magic creations.This is my first choice for everyday concealing under the eye area, as this creamy, soft to the touch, lightweight, sheer to medium coverage concealer melts into the skin seamlessly and doesn’t crease, cake or crack, perfect for under the eyes.

SORBET SHIMMER AND GLOW SHIMMER BRONZER {REVIEW}

Today is the final product review of my "Sorbet Week" here on Beauty Shout box and it's on their
Shimmer & Glow Bronzer.
wouldn't normally chose a bronzer over a blusher, but my all time fave bronzer from
Autograph by Marks & Spencer  had hit pan and I was needing a replacement.

They have 2 Bronzing compacts on offer BRONZED BROWN and JUST PEACHY and I went for the
later shade option.
I have been impressed with the packaging of all 3 products that I have reviewed, as they do have a more, up market quality feel and the Bronzer compact with a mirror is the same.

 Bronzers are an instant pick me up for any skin, as the Illuminating particles shimmer and shine to give you a radiance and glow and this one does that particularly well.
The colour pay off on the skin is good and the Sorbet Baked Powder Technology gives a luxurious finish.
The Pearl particles help to capture  the light and create a soft glow, which is always flattering for all, but especially to us "Oldies".

 Always fascinated by the striping on any blusher or bronzer this particular one from Sorbet is beautifully done. Sorbets gentle combination of minerals and corn starch baked in a unique way achieve the glistening striped pattern.

Just sweep across the cheekbones, temples and nose in fact any where the sun would naturally hit the face and as an added bonus this particular bronzer can be used as an eyeshadow making this 2in1 product handy to have.

Over this past week I have reviewed 3 Sorbet make-up items and since my disastrous intro to the Sorbet make-up collection last year, with their foundation ,I've become somewhat of a convert, especially when it comes to the affordable price point, like the Less 30% Clicks currently have running, I would without hesitation recommend all of these
3 core make-up products. as they that can all be picked up for a grand total of
R350 and that's what I call a
"Make-Up Steal"

MY TOP 5 BENEFIT PRODUCTS {AUGUST 2019}

I've been a fan of U.S. brand benefit for several years now and I have tried many
of their products, so here is my list of my Top 5 all time favourites in no particular order.
benefit are my "go to" for mascaras, brows and concealers, as they really do make some of the most iconic and best out there.
This was a hard list to compile, as I have so many more faves, but these are the
products, from benefit, that are on permanent re-purchase.

Follow the Pink Links in order to read all the details about my choices.
(Please be advised that some prices may have changed from when I originally
posted the review)

I do hope you enjoy this kind of post and I hope it guides you to make some informed
choices about which benefit may just be for you...

P.S I have to add in one more product, as I could not leave out my absolute favourite
eyebrow product, 5 became 6...

1.

BAD gal BANG!
MASCARA

My most recent review and new mascara love is their
BAD gal BANG! Mascara, which I fell in love with on first application.
If you're shopping for a mascara that does what it says then benefit should be your
first stop and they have a variety to cover all the mascara needs.

~~~~~~
2.
ROLLER LASH
MASCARA
I did warn you that they produce the best mascaras and here is another brilliant and now iconic mascara ROLLER LASH,which has to be their "HERO" product in the benefit
product line-up and quite rightly so.
Having used for many years now it always has a place in my "Mascara Wardrobe"
(its not literally a wardrobe, its a drawer)
~~~~~~

3.

BOI ING
INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH
CONCEALER

Again I did warn you that benefit are the best when it comes to concealing and I have to include their famous INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH CONCEALER, which as its name suggests,
 is a full coverage "conceals it all" type of product.

~~~~~~
4.
BOI-ING
AIRBRUSH
CONCEALER
Looking for a Sheer-Medium coverage concealer that also gives a wonderful soft
blurring effect to the skin then this AIRBRUSH CONCEALER is a must and again
it's a permanent in my "Concealing Wardrobe".
~~~~~~

5.

HOOLA
MATTE BRONZER

Last but by no means least, I had to include another iconic benefit product
the HOOLA BRONZER it was my first benefit purchase and yes you've guessed it
I have it permanently in my "Bronzing & Blusher Wardrobe".
It's a universal natural and flattering bronzer that seems to just suit everyone.

~~~~~~
6.
GOOF PROOF
BROW PENCIL
I've had to sneak in another product making this my Top 6 and not my Top 5
GOOF PROOF BROW PENCIL is a super easy filling & shaping eyebrow pencil.
It features a custom, non-sharpen “goof-proof” tip, soft color and a glide-on formula
for easy & fast brow filling.
Comes complete with built-in blending spoolie-brush and has a 12-hour waterproof formula.
QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS {QPR'S} JUNE 2019
I thought it was time I brought you up to speed on a couple of products that
I have been using over the last few weeks and that have made it onto my QPR post.
That being said they are both budget friendly and easily available from
Dischem's countrywide
1.
Brand : CATRICE
Product : VOLUMISING LIP BALM
Price : R89.99
Even though this lip product isn't new its been a firm favourite of mine for a couple of years now and you will always find one in my handbag.
I was originally sent this product to review from the PR's of Catrice and I've both used
and recommended it ever since, so I was excited to see that recently they've extended the range to include a selection of sheer tints and the beautiful deeper pink caught my eye.
It offers the same volumising and cooling feeling, but with a tint, as opposed to the previous transparent balm. Its great to either wear alone or over the top of pretty much any other lipstick shade and I'm loving the versatility.
Verdict : 8/10
~~~~~~

2.

Brand : MINERALINE
Product : REJUVENATE ANTIOXIDANT VITASERUM
Price : R265.00
Size : 50mls
If you are looking to maybe upgrade your skincare regime, but budget is limited
then MINERALINE (exclusively available at all Dischem's countrywide) is a range
to consider.I have used several of their products and I rate then in terms of
"Value for not very much money"

Containing the usual trade mark Dead Sea minerals, Vitamin C, which stimulates the formation of collagen, The potent antioxidant properties of Vitamin C are boosted with those of Vitamin E and together they repair and prevent spots, lines, and other signs of oxidation caused by pollution, sun damage, and age. Vitamin B5 soothes, heals, and hydrates your skin.

Formulated to be used by all skin types it can be used morning and evening under your usual creams, however the key to using this product is to only apply a thin film and as I always say "less is more".
 Vitaserum is just the daily multivitamin your skin needs.

Verdict : 8/10

BIONIKE DEFENCE COLOR LUMINIZER {REVIEW}

This is only the second make-up item from the Italian cosmetic brand
BioNike
that Ive tried, the first was their Defence Pretty Touch Blusher, which was my
"go to" blusher during the 2017/18 summer, as it was such a flattering,
easy wearing everyday blusher.

To read that review

I have seriously lost count of how many concealers/luminizers/brighteners,
whatever you like to call them, I have used over the years, all in the hope of
 concealing darkness under the eye area, even out the skin tone, brightening the area
and counteracting any signs of fatigue its seems to be a never ending quest
 and whilst some do a wonderful job others
can fail miserably.

I was sent the BioNike Defence Color Luminizer to try and I was excited to put it to the test especially after my success with the Blusher from the same collection.

This click pen luminizer claims to conceal dark circles and small imperfections, while highlighting
facial contours and it all sounds very similar to the iconic
YSL Touche Éclat
I worked for YSL many years ago and this product is what truly launched
YSL onto the make-up scene, as the original and now iconic face highlighter/concealer
  claimed to
"instantly give you 8 hours of beauty sleep in a click"

The Touch Éclat has been so coveted over the years, that nowadays there are several
good affordable options that do a very similar job, however personally I have never
found a perfect dupe.

I was curious as to what made this luminizer different to others that I had tried
and its main 3 properties are all what I look for in this type of product :-

Hyaluronic acid:
a moisturiser, makes the texture silky soft.

Texturising agents:
allow to blend product easily for a very lightweight finish and a soft-focus effect.

Glow Factor:
a special set of anti-oxidant and stress-relieving ingredients.

As always the Click pens have to be primed and clicked several times until the
product oozes onto the brush tip.
The product has a fluid texture and is easy to apply and blend with
either your finger tip or a make-up blender and can be applied under foundation or over.

However I wasn't prepared for the great concealing effect that it had on
the blue area towards the inner corner of my under eye.
(The blueness is always there, as its the capillaries that can be seen under the
skin due to that areas skin covering being very thin)
and I'm sure many of you can relate to this blue tinge and whilst it didn't cover 100%
(that's a very difficult ask from any product)
 it did an excellent job on me.

I find that I use the Colour luminizer on the mid line to the inner corners and then another more heavy duty concealer for the outer areas.
The luminizer also brightened up my under eye area very nicely and it can also
be used to illuminate and highlight the cheekbones.

I used shade 101 and there are only 3 shades available.
Ophthalmologically tested on sensitive eyes.
Fragrance & Preservative Free
Its also suitable for contact lens wearers.

I think I could have found the best dupe for the YSL Touche Élact
considering it doesn't carry the same hefty imported price tag and more importantly
its far easier to obtain,
 as all Dischem's countrywide stock BioNike.

This is now the 2nd colour product from BioNike that I have been super impressed
with and hopefully I can find you some more BioNike make-up gems.
