BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDARS LAUNCHING IN THE UK {OCTOBER 2018}

The second post in my series on the Beauty Advent Calendars being 

launched in the UK includes several from my personal favourite beauty houses.

October will also see many of the calendars going on sale either in store or online.

As always many do sell out fairly quickly, especially those that are limited

in quantity.

This 24 day Advent Calendar doesn't look the most festive from

the organic natural skincare brand Susanne Kaufmann, but it excites me.

Having tried one of her face masks earlier this year

will contain bath oils, body products, salts and even festive teas.

 LET'S TALK ABOUT BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDARS, as it's a topic I

love to talk about.

 (Hence the long blogpost today)

I have to be South Africa's biggest fan of advent calendars, especially

the beauty ones, but I am partial to a chocolate one and I confess

that I've had a chocolate calendar every year since being a child and this

year will be no exception even at my age...

The beauty calendars are what get me the most excited now and I treated

 myself to my first one back in 2016.

Beauty Calendars have been big business in the UK & USA for many years

and I'm happy to report that 2021 is the first year that I have seen a decent

assortment here in South Africa.

I have 13 listed below and I've just given you prices and a brief overview,

without giving too much away re the contents.

  Here's some background into the world of beauty advent calendars:

 They can vary between having 12, 24 or 25 doors or drawers and they fall

 into two categories: 

The Brand Calendars, 

where behind every door is a product from the same brand.

The Multi Brand Calendars 

where you will find a

selection of products from a variety of beauty houses spread across 

the calendar doors. These are usually from beauty stores or 

beauty online retailers that retail many brands and are my personal 

favourites.

Beauty Advent Calendars can contain a variety of product sizes

ranging from sample, deluxe, travel and in more recent years 

full size products.

What I love about an advent calendar is the daily excitement and surprise

 behind every festive door in the days leading up to Christmas Day

 and whilst I know what the calendar contains before I order,

 I've usually forgotten by the time it comes to the daily opening.

They also offer the chance to experience new brands and new products,

which I just love.

More often than not, they offer a great saving over buying all of the

items individually and if there's a product that doesn't appeal to

you or not for your skin type, then I often gift them as stocking fillers,

and the smaller sizes always come in handy for travel.

Another added bonus is that many of the boxes are reusable 

and I have filled several of my previous advent calendars with beauty, 

chocolates and other goodies for my family.

My past beauty advent calendars have all been multi brand calendars,

with the exception of my first one. 

and I have Highlight Reels over on my IG account for each one

with what my daily openings revealed.

Unfortunately we do not have any multi brand calendars on offer, only the

branded ones and due to the import duties etc. they don't offer the

great savings we see on offer overseas.

I hope they're still all available either online or in store and if we're lucky

they may form part of Black Friday discounts that are happening this week.

BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDARS LAUNCHING IN THE UK {AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER 2018}

It's my favourite time of the year, as I love doing research for my, now annual,

 series of posts on what Beauty Advent Calendars will be on offer 

for 2018.

Each year seems to bring an even bigger and better selection than the year before

and some of the cosmetic houses are launching as early as the end of August

which is fast approaching.

Alas we get very few of these exciting advent calendars here in South Africa,

but I just love compiling these posts and it could be handy if you are planning

 a trip to the UK over the next 3 months or so.

my upcoming posts helpful.

As always L'Occitane offer a choice of two advent calendars,

Despite loving this Provencal brand their Advent Calendar contents

are often very predictable and there has been criticism that the assortment

 contained too many hand creams, despite L'Occitane undoubtedly

being the Hand Cream experts.

 Hopefully this year they've stepped their content game up a little.

THE MARKS AND SPENCER BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDAR {2018}

This is my favourite beauty advent calendar, as it always has the best 

of the brands that M&S Beauty sell..

The M&S Beauty Calendar is also one of the few that give you a gift everyday

of Christmas including the 25th December.

Last year my "London Kiddiwink" brought me over the 2017 version

and I loved it, its allowed me to try out so many great brands that aren't 

available in SA.
This collection of products is valued at £250 and it has to be the 
best value Beauty Advent Calendar yet again.

I highly recommend this years option, as I can already pick out so many

 iconic beauty products.

FEELUNIQUE BEAUTY ADVENT CALENDAR 2018

I do love a good, value for money, Beauty Advent Calendar and every year the selection on offer in the UK just keeps expanding. 

Unfortunately this concept of having a daily, surprise beauty treat behind 12/24 or 25 doors hasn't caught on in South Africa,partially due to the cost factor, so therefore very few brands import them into the country. 

The only brands that I'm aware of having calendars in SA are L'Occitane, which currently have two on offer their current 2018 (which looks great) and the 2017 calendar, which suggests to me that their sell through on last years didn't meet their expectations

 The Body Shop usually have two or three on offer at varying price points. 

New onto the Beauty Advent Calendar scene this year is Clarins, they have a 12 Day calendar packed with skin & body care and make-up deluxe sizes.

I also write an annually series of blog posts about the Beauty Advent Calendars available in the UK and based on this I try to organise "by hook or by crook" to get one brought 

to South Africa and last year it was the Marks & Spencer's multi brand calendar which made it to these shores via my "LondonKiddiewink" which I was thrilled about & I'm hopefully, fingers crossed, going to receive another one for this December.

However during my research I came across this multi brand "goodie" from the UK online  beauty store FEELUNIQUE.

Housing 24 doors or boxes to be precise, it contains many mid to high end, either full, deluxe or sample sizes of many products that I've been looking to try. 

Now I understand that via my research I am taking away any element of surprise but converting Rands to Pounds I can't afford to make any poor choices, so I need to know the contents, but I still get excited to open each day.

This beauty Advent Calendar contains a mix of skin, body and hair care products

as well as some make-up items and a make-up brush.
