DERMACEUTIC ADVANCED CLEANSER {REVIEW} #TBT POST

I find it difficult to believe that I reviewed this product back in October 2015.
Since then I have reviewed a couple more of the Dermaceutic skincare products
and they haven't disappointed

I also made mention back then of my journey with foaming/wash type
cleansers and I'm pleased to see that they now feature far more in my beauty
regime than ever...

~~~~~~
Dermaceutic is most probably a new name to many of you, as it was with me, up until last year.
Here is some background to this cosmeceutical brand.
Dermatologists and surgeons specialising in facial rejuvenation wanted to offer technologically advanced skin care products for their patients, to accompany general medical and cosmetic procedures. Their research led to the development of Dermaceutic – a range of cosmeceuticals to prepare, optimise and maintain the results of all medical and cosmetic procedures.
 Hence you won't find this brand in any mainstream stores or beauty salons.
Dermaceutic Laboratoire is the partner of choice for over 30,000 aesthetic dermatology specialists throughout the world. Dermaceutic stockists are carefully selected and it is imperative that they fill very strict criteria, that criteria being there is an associated doctor within every Dermaceutic Clinic.
The Dermaceutic home care range focuses on the three essential areas of skin rejuvenation:
Stimulation
Protection
and
Repair
It was created to address most skin types’ needs - from pigmentation to fine lines to acne - and contains a unique combination of active ingredients.
Interestingly Dermaceutics is one of the first cosmeceutical companies to develop products using wonderful ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, stabilized vitamin C,
 and glycolic acid.
Now that you know a little of the history of the brand,
lets get down to the "nitty-gritty".
I was recently sent their newly launched Advanced Cleanser,which comes in a foam format and is recommended for all skin types, including sensitive and dehydrated skin.
Having been a cleansing milk type of person for many years, it really has taken me some time to come around to the idea of using a rinseable liquid type cleanser.
I have really enjoyed a couple over the last few years and, you could say that I am becoming somewhat of a convert!
The transparent container that the foam comes in, fitted comfortably into my palm and is really easy to use with one hand and a bonus - you are able to see exactly how product much you are using.
Just a word of warning - you really don't need very much of this fragrance free cleanser, so don't be tempted to pump out too much of the product!
Application is easy just apply the foam onto a wet skin, massage thoroughly then rinse with water.
(On my first usage I dispensed enough to cleanse my whole body)
I found this foam cleanser effectively removed my heavy make-up and left my skin feeling clean, fresh and surprisingly hydrated and balanced, as opposed to leaving a feeling of tightness.
All this thanks to a unique hydrating complex that helps keep skin soft, supple and comfortable.
(I can see how these benefits would feel wonderful if used on a post peel skin)
High performance active ingredients include :
  • XYLITOL: Promotes skin hydration and smoothness
  • ZINC: Removes excess sebum
  • UREA: Removes scales from the skin's surface
  • GLYCERIN: Provides a hydrating and protective film
 Another aspect that I enjoyed about this foam cleanser - its Paraben free and packaged in an airless bottle to ensure optimum hygiene and a minimal concentration of preservatives.
I'm so enjoying my Dermaceutic Advanced Cleanser, which goes to prove that I have transitioned from
 "becoming a convert" to "converted".
DERMACEUTIC SUN CEUTIC 50+ UNIVERSAL SHADE (REVIEW)
Now I do love me a good, high SPF sunscreen with a tint and have opted for a tinted one over non tinted for several years now. However the choice of tinted sun protection
is, to say the least, limited.
My go-to has been the BIODERMA  PHOTODERM MAX SPF 50+ TINTED AQUAFLUIDE
I was kindly sent from DERMACEUTIC their Sun Celtic 50+ Universal Shade and I have been
putting it to the test over the past few weeks.
For those that haven't heard of Dermaceutic:
Dermaceutic Laboratoire is a French cosmeceutical company and the partner of choice for over 30,000 Aesthetic Dermatology Specialists throughout the world. It was one of the first laboratories to develop products using ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C Complex, Retinol and Glycolic Acid
Dermaceutic Sun Ceutic 50+ Universal Shade is a physical sunscreen with a tint that provides maximum protection for skin exposed to UV rays.
 This universal tint has been tested locally up to Fitzpatrick skin type 4 and I'm happy
to report that it does not leave an ashy or white residue.
Key ingredients include powerful UVA/UVB filters with SPF 50 to protect the skin.
The dispersed micro-mineral filters allow the cream to be completely transparent while maintaining efficacy.I found there to be very little tint with this product,so if like me you
are looking for a multi-tasking, tinted, high SPF product then the
Dermaceutic Derma Defense DD Cream may be more suitable.
To read my full review
 However the formula of the Sun Ceutic 50+ is quite unique,as it contains the following:
 A powerful Stem Cell Stimulator that accelerates epidermal restoration, helping to smooth out the appearance of wrinkles.
Mineral filters Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide form a stable physical barrier against
 UVA and UVB rays.
Hyaluronic Acid, a molecular ‘sponge’ has the power to retain water providing hydration and suppleness to the skin.
Aloe Vera to soothe the skin and reduces inflammation.
It also Paraben-free.
Fragrance-free.
Oxybenzone and Octobrylene-free
and is not tested on animals.
Whilst being suitable for all skin types including sensitive or rosacea-prone skin, as it will help to slightly cover imperfections & reduce inflammation
this would also be a great product for those with a more oily or acne prone skin,
whether that be young or old, male of female, this lightweight and non greasy sun protection cream can be use as a moisturiser/sunscreen/anti-ageing without the
 need for any other moisturisation or product.
As you can see this product is packed with ingredients to combat premature ageing,
which renders this product far more than just a high protection factor sun cream...
DERMACEUTIC DERMA DEFENSE DD CREAM (LIGHT)
Move over BB and CC creams its time to make way for the DD creams, yes we are slowly making our way through the alphabet and to give you a quick overview of what a DD stands for and what a DD cream does:
DD cream
is a marketing term that stands for
 Dynamic Do-all
or
Daily Defense.
 The DD cream which is lighter than BB and CC creams, combines
"the protection properties of a BB cream and the colour correcting properties
 of a CC cream."
DD creams contain SPFanti-aging, and moisturizing ingredients.
A DD cream can be regarded as BB/CC hybrid with additional anti-aging property.
Not having reviewed a DD Cream before, but I am a lover of CC Creams I was keen to see exactly what this one from
the cosmeceutical brand DERMACEUTIC had to offer.
I was kindly sent the shade Light, as they do offer 2 shades Light and Medium.
Dermaceutic Derma Defense DD Cream with a light tint is a unique
3-in-1 formulation.
It contains a high SPF, with pigments that even out skin tone, covering imperfections while providing optimal hydration.
Key ingredients include Xylitol which provides intense skin hydration, Pigments smooth the skins complexion making it more uniform in appearance, Licorice Extract protects against pigmentation and Vitamin E Ester is a powerful antioxidant that combats free radical damage. Mineral filters create a stable physical barrier against UVB and UVA rays.
Apply in the morning after cleansing on its own or over your daily moisturiser and throughout the day as needed.
Apply over the whole face, gentle working it into the skin to achieve total coverage and a smooth, even complexion.
As it is a physical sunscreen it provides immediate sun protection.
Recommended for all skin types.
I found that I had to experiment a couple of times until I could gauge exactly how much to apply, bearing in mind that I often have high humidity to deal with and any product that's too heavy or occlusive just doesn't work for my normal-dry mature skin.
The product is packaged with my favourite- a needle-point nozzle, so its easy to control the amount dispensed and provides less chance of contamination back into the product.
As always Dermaceutic’s high-performance products are paraben-and fragrance-free.
On paper this multi-tasking cream sounded like the perfect product for me to use
daily under my moisturiser or alone, especially as I live in a humid subtropical climate where the sun shines 320 days.
On those days where I'm pottering around the home and go "sans" make-up I found this product to be ideal, as it provided me with all that my skin needed i.e.
a high 50 SPF, hydration and surprisingly a rather flattering glow to my skin.
However the "Light" tint is hardly noticeable and I felt that the Medium would have possibly worked better for my skin tone.
Even though my preferred choice was to use alone, I did apply successfully both over a light moisturiser and even under a full face of make-up.
 This DD cream seems to have combined the benefits of a BB cream and a CC cream successfully both on paper and on the skin.
BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW {DECEMBER 2019}
December seemed to sneak up on me this year, due to October and November
whizzing by in a flash.
We are already on the 8th of December and this post is coming to you way later than normal, thanks to the problems I've been having with my internet connection for the past week.
However I have 3 interesting products to put to the test this month.
As always I will put these products to the test and report back to you...
1.
The Clean Reserve Citroen Fig is no stranger to me, as this is the 2nd bottle that I've purchased over the year, but I have never actually written a full review, so expect my perfume review soon and as I'm sure you can already guess, due to a re-purchase, I love this fragrance and its becoming a firm all time favourite of mine.
DERMACEUTIC is a brand that I have mentioned several times on my blog and I was kindly sent two of their products to try and they couldn't have come at at better time.
2.
The DERMACEUTIC Sun Ceutic 50+ Universal Shade is a physical sunscreen with a tint that provides maximum protection for skin exposed to UV rays.
Now I prefer a tinted sunscreen over a non tinted ,as it allows me to go pretty much make-up free for most of the summer and this is the product that arrived just in time, as I have been looking at several tinted sunscreens with maximum protection and this with an SPF 50+ ticks all of my boxes perfectly.
3.
I also received another product from DERMACEUTIC to try out in the form of their
Derma Defense DD Cream
 Dermaceutic Derma Defense DD Cream with a light tint is a unique 3-in-1 formulation.
 It contains a high SPF, with pigments that even out skin tone, covering imperfections while providing optimal hydration.
It comes in 2 shades Light & Medium and I have the Light to try.
I have to say if my reviews on both of these products are good then I'll have pretty much covered all bases for my face protection this summer.
