RECENT EMPTIES {APRIL 2023}

This is my 3rd "Recent Empties" in as many months,
which has to be a record for me.
With the exception of one of these products, I have and would
again re-purchase all again.
I will link the original reviews below.

CLEAN RESERVE
 CITROEN FIG
EDP

I love my Clean Reserve Citroen Fig and if I'm not mistaken this is my
3rd 100ml empty. It really has become one of my all-time favourites,
as I just love the top notes of fig, ginger, and lemon oil that will brings
you an immediate
burst of citrus, followed by the middle notes of cardamom, mint,
copaiba, and mandarin, then the base notes of sandalwood, cedarwood,
and musk will ensure that you have an exotic scent to last throughout the day.
Unfortunately I don't know when I can replace this fragrance as the
only retailer here in South Africa SkinsCosmetics has discontinued
this range of fragrances, which makes me very sad as this is my
absolute favourite fragrance EVER....

BY TERRY
LIP-EXPERT
SHINE LIQUID LIPSTICK

Besides being my perfect shade (Rosy Kisss),
I have found my absolute favourite lipstick of all time...

The precise doe foot applicator makes application so easy and the buttery
formula glides on beautifully and offers a full coverage in one coat.
I found the rich pigment to be long lasting and above all extremely
comfortable and nourishing on the lips.
I do enjoy a shine finish and this shine formula is the perfect amount,
so I highly recommend you check out the

CLINIQUE
MOISTURE SURGE
100H AUTO REPLENISHING
HYDRATOR

My 15ml size lasted for a month and I was super impressed and
I can now understand the love that fans have for this product.

I enjoyed the texture, it was refreshing, lightweight and more
importantly it provided hydration, as for 100 hours I can't
comment but based on the above claims I don't doubt it.
It smoothed my skin to allow for a nice foundation application.
It's an easy to apply and useful multitasking product,
however remember
I have been using during hot humid weather, so
I can't comment on its effectiveness during extreme cold,
but it is a product that I would re-purchase and its great that
it comes in a smaller 15ml size.

URBAN DECAY
STAY NAKED
CORRECTING CONCEALER

The Stay Naked concealer is a buildable, full coverage concealer that is
long wearing (up to 24hrs),waterproof and doesn't transfer.
I enjoyed that it had a breathable, flexible formula and didn't look cakey,
or dry despite giving a matte finish.
Even though the formula is ultra-pigmented, it's also lightweight
and it covered the darkness under my eyes and the redness around
 my nose surprisingly well.
This has to be my favourite concealer of all time and fortunately
I have a back-up, as we cannot get URBAN DECAY in South Africa
any longer.

KÉRASTASE
GENESIS
BAIN HYDRA FORTIFIANT
SHAMPOO

When it comes to haircare especially my shampoo and conditioner
I do tend to have chop and change a fair amount and whilst I do
have several professional haircare brands, I also enjoy a couple
of the more affordable drugstore brands.
For many years KERASTASE were my products of choice and
I supported them for many, many years, however I'm
finding that my hair isn't responding to their products just
as well as they used to and of course our hair texture and
thickness does alter with age.
I have re-purchased this shampoo several times, however I
doubt I will buy again, as I'm finding that I cannot justify
the price versus how good my hair feels when using
less pricey brands.

CLEAN RESERVE FRAGRANCE REVIEWS {#TBT REVIEW}

It was 12 months ago, to the date, that I originally wrote this review
on 3 Clean Reserve fragrances and our love for them has not diminished
in any way.
They are still the family faves and have been repurchased several times over.
I hope this helps you to maybe find some new fragrance inspiration.
Clean Reserve fragrances are available exclusively in South Africa

Considering that the majority of my working career was spent with fragrance
I very rarely do fragrance reviews, unless its something that really stands
out as being different and a scent that I love.

I have found over the years that many fragrances are either re-hashed,
re-named or smell "same old, same old" as I find myself so often saying
"this reminds me of something"
but this certainly wasn't the case with my fragrance finds over this past year.

I was introduced to Clean Reserve via a beauty box that I picked up at
Skins Cosmetics in Sandton back in April 2018 and not being a fragrance
brand that I had heard of before I wasn't holding out too much hope
of me liking, but how wrong could I be, as instantly fell in love.

Here's a brief overview of Clean Reserve:

Clean Reserve made its olfactory debut in 2015. The latest fragrance incarnation from the umbrella brand, Clean, it was devised in collaboration with three
of the globe’s finest fragrance houses.
The focus is firmly on sustainability – each artisanal blend is formulated
using high-grade ingredients with impeccable eco-credentials.
The brand’s ‘field to fragrance’ ethos champions the use of raw sustainables;
from saffron to spiced herbs, wild moss, birch and patchouli.
Add to this its 100% recyclable packaging and solar- energy powered production line and its eco-conscious attitude is clear.
The Clean Reserve brand is also eco-friendly, with the benzoin harvested
without damage to trees.

The 10ml Deluxe spray, that I received was of the Warm Cotton, which I used sparingly until I was able to buy a 100ml size.

That 100ml sadly diminished way too quickly due to my hubby and my son discovering that they also loved this fresh clean fragrance.

Clean Reserve Warm Cotton EDP, a light and refreshing perfume,
which is ideal for everyday wear.
The fragrance contains vetiver and benzoin, as well as ozonic,
and hints of ginger, mint, and musk.
The light floral hints in the perfume are ideal for summer days and evenings,
for home and for holidays, and for any day you want to feel a little bit special.
The comforting fragrance is both familiar and luxurious, created for easy
layering and blending.
On one of my overseas trips I discovered more fragrances from the brand
and that's when I found my favourite fragrance of all time and I''m
about to open my 2nd bottle...

Clean Reserve Citroen Fig EDP is a beautifully-blended perfume that you
can layer with other fragrances in the range to create your own, unique scent.
There are top notes of fig, ginger, and lemon oil that will bring you an immediate citrus burst. This is followed by the middle notes of cardamom, mint, copaiba,
and mandarin, while the base notes of sandalwood, cedarwood, and musk
will ensure that you have an exotic scent to last throughout the day.

Clean Reserve Rain EDP This fragrance is reminiscent of the rainforest
and evokes memories of the clean air after a rainfall.
The perfume has been created from ingredients such as white flowers,
bergamot, vetiver, and patchouli.
The lightness of this fragrance makes it perfect for both men and women.
The natural ambiance of this perfume also makes it a good choice for
when you want your perfume to complement you rather than overpower you.

We now find ourselves being a Clean Reserve family, as I use the Citroen Fig,
my hubby uses Warm Cotton and the youngest 'Kiddiewink" uses Rain
and best of all we can create more fragrance options by layering with other fragrances in the Clean Reserve range and creating a unique fragrance.

So if you are looking for something different, something more "niche" where fragrance is concerned and you have the opportunity to try the selection on offer from Clean Reserve then do,
as like me and the rest of my family I think you could be pleasantly surprised.

BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW {DECEMBER 2019}

December seemed to sneak up on me this year, due to October and November
whizzing by in a flash.
We are already on the 8th of December and this post is coming to you way later than normal, thanks to the problems I've been having with my internet connection for the past week.
However I have 3 interesting products to put to the test this month.
As always I will put these products to the test and report back to you...

1.

The Clean Reserve Citroen Fig is no stranger to me, as this is the 2nd bottle that I've purchased over the year, but I have never actually written a full review, so expect my perfume review soon and as I'm sure you can already guess, due to a re-purchase, I love this fragrance and its becoming a firm all time favourite of mine.

DERMACEUTIC is a brand that I have mentioned several times on my blog and I was kindly sent two of their products to try and they couldn't have come at at better time.

2.

The DERMACEUTIC Sun Ceutic 50+ Universal Shade is a physical sunscreen with a tint that provides maximum protection for skin exposed to UV rays.
Now I prefer a tinted sunscreen over a non tinted ,as it allows me to go pretty much make-up free for most of the summer and this is the product that arrived just in time, as I have been looking at several tinted sunscreens with maximum protection and this with an SPF 50+ ticks all of my boxes perfectly.

3.

I also received another product from DERMACEUTIC to try out in the form of their
Derma Defense DD Cream
Dermaceutic Derma Defense DD Cream with a light tint is a unique 3-in-1 formulation.
It contains a high SPF, with pigments that even out skin tone, covering imperfections while providing optimal hydration.
It comes in 2 shades Light & Medium and I have the Light to try.
I have to say if my reviews on both of these products are good then I'll have pretty much covered all bases for my face protection this summer.
