CIATÉ LONDON WONDERWAND MASCARA #TBT REVIEW

A throwback to January 2019 saw me review the
Ciaté WONDERWAND Mascara.
It was part of a Beauty Advent Calendar and I still have that
Reel Highlights on IG.
I think mascaras may be my most reviewed make-up item here on
Beauty Shout Box and this is still one of the most
 beautiful packaged mascaras I have
come across, but sadly due to the brush it wasn't for me.

~~~~~~
Despite having never used anything from the British brand Ciaté London
I had heard of
this WONDERWAND Mascara, as it's one of their best sellers.
So you can imagine how excited I was to find this full size mascara
behind door 23 on my feeluinique beauty advent calendar.
If you want to see all the daily openings of my feelunique
beauty advent calendar then head over to my Instagram account
(link in the side bar) and catch up on the feelunique Highlights Reel.
Firstly I must make mention of the beautiful packaging of this mascara, its
silver mirror style wand covered in white stars is simply stunning and the
product feels both heavy and quality in the hand and for this I give
10/10
The Ciaté WONDERWAND Mascara is an intensely volumising mascara and
 makes some serious claims with regard to its performance based
on a consumer panel survey.
After using the Ciaté WONDERWAND Mascara the panel reported:
x19 more volume in three coats
95.4% saw 24hr long wear results
96.4% saw intense lash volume and curl
95.5% saw extreme lash length
I found this carbon black formula to coat the lashes well and be long wearing,
smudge and flake proof, however with regards to the "intense lash and curl"
I personally found the unique shaped brush too large for my length of lashes,
therefore I couldn't  achieve the grip on the lashes to put the length
and curl claim to the test.
I personally found this mascara to have a very wet formula and needed
some cleaning up after application, both on the brush and around my eye
 which can happen with many wetter type mascaras.
I also had to wait in between coats for the mascara to dry otherwise it just
formed clumps on the lashes.
With regards to the removal, I had to try several of my eye make-up removers
 in order to find one that removed the mascara fully, as its not the quickest
or easiest to remove.
Even though I generally prefer this type of formula over a drier
formulation I just found
 it to be too much work...with application and removal.
Ciaté WONDERAND is Paraben & Gluten free, Vegan Friendly
and Anti Cruelty
If you are looking for a high drama false lash look then certainly
give this WONDERWAND a try, but sadly it wasn't my ideal mascara.
L'OREAL PARADISE EXTATIC MASCARA {#TBT REVIEW}
I find it really hard to believe that I reviewed this L'Oreal mascara back in September
2017 (3 years ago) as it seems like only the other day.
I managed to get my hands on this mascara way before it launched here in South Africa
and being a little mascara obsessed I had to have this, much talked about newbie,
in my mascara collection.
Not being loyal to one particular mascara I find myself switching between 2 or 3
that I really enjoy and highly rate and that's what happened with the
PARADISE EXTATIC MASCARA.
It was one of my go to mascaras for about 18 months and at the time I loved both
the length and volume that it offered my sparse lashes, but it is a very wet mascara.
I also found with time the mascara wand becomes exceptionally messy and clogged,
more so than with any other mascara.
Whilst I still rate this mascara highly, sadly others have come onto the mascara
scene and led me down new mascara paths.
As I've said before in previous blogs mascara is a highly competitive area
and understandably we don't remain overly loyal.
The PARADISE EXTATIC is now available in SA at Clicks and Dischem's countrywide and
is available in a waterproof and non waterproof version.
*The prices below may not be current*
If you would like to know which my personal faves are then read my post below
All the hype and coverage on Social Media surrounding the latest mascara offering
PARADISE EXTATIC
from L'Oreal, has actually put me slightly on the back foot before I've even applied it, which means only one thing... I'm expecting "greater than great" things and will be hugely disappointed if this product doesn't deliver.
Huge thumbs up to L'Oreal for their great packageing, not only does it come in a beautiful rose gold/bronze colour, but it comes in a box also.
(often only found with the more expensive higher end brands)
  I personally find it far more reassuring to buy a boxed mascara rather than an unboxed one that sits on a self serve merchandiser just begging to be have their tamperproof seal broken, sniffed and in some cases tested.
Claiming to offer intense volume and spectacular length made me even more doubtful, as we hear this so often about newly launched mascaras, but how wrong I was to be so sceptical.
As I've aged my lashes have without doubt become fairer and more sparse, yet this mascara literally transformed my lashes from fair to intense black with just one coat.
The wavy ultra soft bristle brush quickly felt comfortable in my hand and its formula has a silky smooth feel thanks to it being enriched with castor oil, which also gives the lashes a soft feel rather than that all to familiar brittle stiff feel.
It didn't clump or flake either and its staying power was pretty good.
You can build volume and length with several coats, but if you're in a hurry one coat does a good job.
This mascara is a pleasure to use and more importantly to remove and is genuinely
worthy of all the hype and I'm a fan...
LORÉAL UNLIMITED MASCARA {REVIEW}
Last years launch overseas of the L'ORÉAL Paradise Exactic Mascara
was a huge success and finally it's now available here in South Africa.
It's only taken a year for it to arrive on our shelves, but as they say
"better late than never"
This rose gold beauty made it onto my Top 5 Make-Up Products of 2017
as I loved it, so much that I had organised several UK back-ups,
 so I wouldn't be without.
(so thankfully I don't need to do that anymore)
It seems as though I'm experiencing Dèja Vu as the same has happened
again with another new mascara launch from L'Oréal.
Unlimited Mascara
was recently launched in the UK and I managed to get my beauty hands
on one and yes I can announce already that it will be appearing on my
Top make-up list for 2018.
So L'Oréal seem to be on top of their lash game and this mascara is a game changer.
and it's all thanks to the innovative brush, which was inspired by a make-up artist
hack, it bends at 2 different angles, allowing for precise application.
The Unlimited Mascara ensures that every lash is volumised,lengthened and
perfectly separated.
The brush coats the lashes with a creamy, non-clumpy formula which glides on perfectly to volumise, lengthen and define every last lash. Top, bottom, inner, outer, long, short… no lash is left uncovered.
It makes applying mascara so much easier and I
can't believe just what a difference applying with a bendable wand has made.
I wish we had more brands adopting this wand technology
Possibly we don't see more bendable wands due to the cost factor and the only other similar mascara is the Lancôme Grandiose,which also have a bendable
Grandiose Eyeliner.
(which happens to fall under the L'Oréal umbrella)
Initially I thought the bendable wand was a little gimmicky,
but I was so wrong as for me its revolutionised the way
we apply mascara.
The bendable mascara wand makes for precise application
and reaches every lash from corner to corner.
It lengthens, volumises, defines and separates lashes
and the intense black finish is great for achieving
high impact lashes.
The formula is long wearing and does need a little more
time on the removal front.
I have done an "about turn" on this mascara and I
highly recommend and I just hope it arrives in
South Africa soon...
Let me know in the comments below if you know of any
other mascaras that have a bendable wand.
