OH NO! FRAGRANCE PAST ITS BEST

Please do not "save or hoard" your favourite fragrances for wearing on the
"High Days & Holidays" of life...
they have been created to be worn daily and for you to enjoy!

How do you know if your fragrance is
"Past its Best" ?

The smell is the key indicator...so ask yourself the following:
Does it smell good or is it starting to smell different?
The intensity of a fragrance will fade gradually with age but if it's smelling unpleasant or sour then its "Past its Best"

Has the colour of the fragrance changed?
Some fragrances will start to turn darker or even fade in colour as they age.
Citrus, fresher fragrances don't generally tend to last as long as their more Spicy, Oriental counterparts.
If yours is a very dark brown or transparent in colour? then its most probably
"Past it's Best"

Has the fragrance thickened? If it has, then its
 "Past it's Best"

The quality of a spray format does tend to last better than open bottles e.g. Perfumes or a
Splash On, as they are less open to contamination.
Fragrance does not last forever....as much as we would love them to, they just don't!
A good branded fragrance made with quality ingredients will have an approximate 2-5 year shelf life.
The problem is that consumers have no idea how long the product has been on the retailers shelf for, as fragrances are not required to have a manufacture date on the packaging or the product, so ensure that you buy from a retailer that has a good turn over of stock.
If you are not a daily user of  "smellies" then consider buying the smaller sizes, like the 30mls of 50mls rather than the more economical 100ml sizes.

So if you have several bottles of "age unknown" fragrances then start using them and
"Who Knows" there could be many memories just waiting to be created!

OH NO! REMOVING EYE MAKE UP WITH BABY PRODUCTS

Please... make sure you remove your eye make up correctly..The skin around the eye area is much thinner and more delicate, so therefore must be treated with specialised eye products. I am horrified to see how many women use a baby product  to remove the eye make up with....
Oh! My Goodness this is in my opinion a definite "No No".
The molecular structure of specific products designed to be used around the eye is much finer than products formulated to be used on the face or baby. There is such a vast array of eye make up removers out there to suit every type of eye make up worn and to suit every ones budget, so there really is no excuse.
Eye Make-up Removers come in several formats either gel, cream or lotion and should always be Opthalmologically tested. Also the majority are now suitable for the most sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

  • When applying any remover to the eye area remember to leave the cotton wool on the eye lid for a few seconds in order to dissolve the eye shadow, eye pencil or mascara, which will enable easier "one wipe" removal.
  • No matter how late it gets at night you must never sleep with make up on.
  • Harsh rubbing to remove eye make up should be avoided at all costs.
  • Washing the eye area with soap and water is also a big NO NO!

One last word of advice....keep the baby products for Baba!

"OH NO" FRAGRANCE RUBBING

Please... when you get the urge to rub your wrists together when you have sprayed your fragrance..Don't!
I think this action stems from some belief that if you give your fragrance a "good old" rub it warms the ingredients and helps it to develop. Well! let me tell you, all it will do is destroy and breakdown the molecular structure of the fragrance and it will alter the smell.
Try this little test...spray your Perfume or your Eau De Toilette on the one wrist and do not rub and on your other wrist, spray and rub with your finger...only smell both wrists after a couple of minutes and you will find that both will smell completely different.
I can assure you, the true fragrance that the creators intended for you to enjoy will be the non rubbed wrist..
So please remember..... no more fragrance "rubbing"...

"OH NO" FINGERS IN POTS

This warrants a double please as it is one of my "gross" hates...

Please Please Do not put your fingers straight into your pots or jars of creams.Your fingers are full of "Jimmy Germs" as we call them in my male dominated household and you are innocently transferring all those little "Jimmy's" into a wonderful breeding ground...
Rather remove the product from the jar with either a spatula or an ear bud as this will not only control the amount of cream you remove but will reduce the risk of product contamination.
Over the years I have seen some weird and wonderful growths lurking inside jars but unfortunately I have no visuals to show...pity!
So remember no more digits in the jars!

"OH NO" LIPSTICK TESTING

Please do not test lipsticks, glosses or lip liners directly onto your lips but rather apply onto the back of the hand or ask the beauty consultant if she has a disposable applicator to use....this is a far more hygienic method of testing.

Do you think this shade suits me?
