QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEW {QPR} JANUARY 2022

Considering it's only 3/4 months since I last posted a QPR
Quickie Product Review, I didn't have too many products that warranted
a Quickie Review, hence why I've only 1 product to include in todays post.
With hindsight I could have dedicated a full review to my 1st
product from this brand, as I've enjoyed it so much and I do have plans to
try a couple more products and I will do full reviews of those.

1.

Brand : Skin Proud
Product : Icicle Cooling Eye Serum Stick
Price : R330
Size : 10g

I ordered this product online from Woolworths,
not knowing anything about the brand Skin Proud, but the name of
the product just spoke to me Icicle Cooling Eye Serum Stick
it also helped that Woolworths were having a less 30% site wide
for Black Friday.

After doing some research the creator of Skin Proud is
British Entrepreneur Charlotte Knight, who is also the person behind
Ciate London and Lottie London.
It's aimed at a younger demographic and Skin Proud believes in being transparent, cutting out the confusion, whilst being easy to use,
100% vegan and clean products, with straight to the point ingredients.
The product packaging reminds me a little of Glossier.

Featuring a five-part hyaluronic acid complex, this instantly cooling balm
freshens and tightens, whilst helping to lock in hydration for healthy
 under eyes.
The unique balm-like texture can be used on bare skin or added
over make up for an instant pick me up when your eyes are feeling tired.

Now this product hasn't replaced any of my current eye treatments,
but it's rather a welcome extra addition.
If you are a "first timer" with an eye product, then this is a great one.
I personally find it so easy to just pick up and apply
several times a day, as I adore the packaging, the swipe around the
eye application and its instantly cooling effect.

I have almost finished and I've now resorted to digging down
into the container, which only goes to prove how much I have been loving it,
and I will for sure be re-ordering.

Verdict : 9/10

QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS {QPR'S} MARCH 2020

This months QPR post contains 3 products that were inclusions in my Beauty Advent Calendar 2019, the one being a brow pencil from a brand I'd never heard of and
the other is a lip pencil from a brand that I'd only heard good things about and
an exciting hair styling treatment product.

1.

Brand : ILLAMASQUA
Product : Colouring Lip Pencil
Price :£16

A relatively new British brand that has built up quite a following since its launch in November 2008. Illamasqua (a combination of 'Illusion' and 'Masquerade') is the brainchild of
Yorkshire marketing guru Julian Kynaston and I was excited to put my
Lip pencil, in the shade Raw, to the BSB Test.

Use as a lip liner to prevent colour bleed, or blend across the entire lip to
create a colour-intense finish.

Despite the claims that you can create long-lasting definition with this versatile,
highly-pigmented Lip Colouring Pencilthat's easily-blendable with a creamy texture
that glides over skin, I found the pencil to be quite hard on the lips and not that pigmented or creamy.

For me this pencil was a disappointment, so much so, that I won't be using it again
and has sadly left me not wanting to try anything else from this brand.

Verdict :  2/10

2.

Brand : DELILAH
Product : Brow Groom
Price : £20

Having previously never heard of this British cosmetic brand DELILAH
I wasn't expecting anything great. How wrong I was, as I love this brow pencil.

Perfect your arches with the Retractable Eye Brow Pencil with Brush from delilah. Featuring a dual-end design, the eyebrow pencil has a narrow nib at the one end with a creamy formula and natural-looking colour coverage, allowing you to create precise,hair-like strokes to fill sparse gaps and enhance depth.
The built-in spoolie brush to the opposite end helps tame stray hairs and keep brows looking flawlessly groomed.

Verdict :  8/10

3.

Brand : LIVING PROOF
Product : Perfect Hair Day
5in1 Styling Treatment
Price : £24

This hair styling product from Living proof. is fast becoming a firm favourite of mine,
as it really is what it says on the packaging, a 5in1 Styling Treatment
This delightfully fragranced lightweight gel adds volume, it conditions, strengthens,
creates a smooth shiny finish to the hair and most importantly for me
it provides heat protection up to 450F/230C.
I love the softness and bounce this multi purpose styling product gives to my hair.
It's easy to use, just apply on damp hair, evenly distribute from roots to ends.
 Comb through.
For best results, blow dry.

Verdict :  8/10

QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS {QPR'S} MAY 2019

Unfortunately I don't have too many products to include in this QPR post,
but I do have two non skincare/make-up items and that doesn't happen too often,
so lets see what I thought....

1.

Brand : WOOLWORTHS
Product : Lemon Verbena Foam Bath
Price : R59.99
Size : 500 mls

I was so excited to see that Woolworths had launched their own range of Vegan body products that are based on Active Ingredients from Nature.
The assortment of products and fragrances is quite extensive and being a longtime lover
of all things Verbena I made a bee line for their Lemon Verbena Foam bath, which is
enriched with botanical extracts, Turmeric and Maca Root Extracts.
All products are free from:
Parabens, added sulphates(SLS & SLES),synthetic colours and they're all
Dermatologically tested.
(This range can be found in the food hall section of Woolworths)

Whilst the packaging of the products is appealing unfortunately I can't say the same for
the contents.
I found the fragrance pay off of this foam bath to be poor initially and soon disappeared completely and the bubbles were poor at least.
However the price is affordable especially for a 500mls bottle, but that's all I can
say positive about this from bath, that I was so hopeful about.

Verdict : 4/10

2.

Brand : Bath & Body Works
Product : Creamy Luxe Hand Soap
Coconut Mint Drop
Price : AED 42 Normal price (R167)
(I can't remember what I paid but it was less than half price)
Size : 236 mls

Having never tried anything from the USA brand Bath & Body Works I couldn't resist
buying a couple of things from one of their shops in the Dubai. As always the poor South African has to spoil our spending fun, but luck was in my side this time, as I was
shopping on the Black Friday Weekend and I scored...
I bought a couple of their large candles and this Creamy Luxe Hand Soap and I
do love luxury hand soaps.
Not only does this Coconut Mint Drop Hand Soap smell divine, it has a luxurious
creamy feel and the fragrant bubbles reflect just that.
It certainly leaves your hands feeling soft, fragranced and moisturised.
Whilst I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase again, I would most certainly buy again
if I was  fortunate to be travelling through a country that stocked Bath & body Works.
(Be warned their product range is huge, so allocate plenty of time when you visit a store)

Verdict : 8/10

Let me know in the comments below if you have tried anything from this brand,as I would
 love to know.

QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS FEBRUARY 2019 {QPR'S}

This is why I love a good Beauty Advent Calendar at Christmas time, as it provides
me with so many products to try and review for many months,
some good and some not so good.

Todays reviews are all on products that came from Marks & Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar 2018 and the one is a bronzer and the other two are eye products.
(Unfortunately non of these brands are available in South Africa)

1.

Brand : Autograph (M&S own in house brand)
Product : Luxe Multi Bronzer
Price : £12.50

When I opened the beauty advent calendar box that revealed this bronzer
wasn't ecstatic like I was about some of the other reveals, but how wrong I was to
have doubted this absolute gem of a bronzer,
This multi-shade bronzer features a range of soft, shimmering tones to create
a gorgeous bronze glow on your skin.
Select one shade and sweep across cheekbones or blend them all together.
I found this bronzer to be easy to use and so flattering with my skin tone, that Ive been
reaching for it everyday.

Verdict : 8/10

2.

Brand : EYEKO
Product : Lash Alert Mascara (Black)
Price : £19/£10
Size : 8ml/4ml

2017's M&S Beauty Advent Calendar also contained an EyeKo Mascara
Black Magic Drama & Curl
which I thoroughly enjoyed and this year they have one of their other offerings
Lash Alert!
The curve brush separates, yet covers the lashes with product and it's buildable layer
after layer with the added bonus of not a clump in sight.
It gives a very natural, lashes separated kinda look  and if that's what you like from your mascara then I can highly recommend the
Lash Alert!

Verdict : 8/10

3.

Brand : Diego Della Palma
Product : Eye Pencil (Black)
Price : £14.50

I was introduced to this Italian brand for the first time through the
2017 M&S Beauty Advent Calendar with their
Lash Booster Mascara

This year they have included one of their full size Eye Pencils in black.
Unfortunately I found this pencil to be quite hard and hence it dragged the skin around
the eye, so I'm not a fan.
All I can really say
"There are far better, softer eye pencils out there in the market".

Verdict : 5/10
