REN PERFECT CANVAS CLEAN JELLY OIL CLEANSER {REVIEW}

It's been some time since I reviewed a skincare product from

REN

and whilst I have a couple of favourites, its not a "go to" brand for me.

This

PERFECT CANVAS CLEAN JELLY OIL CLEANSER

was an inclusion in one of my COSMETIPS Influencer edits and I have

been putting it to the test for the past few weeks.

Formulated to deep clean your complexion this gentle yet effective

 cleansing treatment is clinically proven to remove waterproof makeup, pollution and SPF.

It's one of those magical tri-phase cleansers that starts off as a thick gel

 and then transforms into a rich oil as you work

 it into dry skin and finally, with the addition of water, it turns

into a milky consistency.

The key ingredients are:

Grapeseed Oil known for its antioxidant and soothing properties, 

helps protect against free radicals.

Sunflower Seed Oil protects skin's natural moisture barrier to prevent

 continued dryness.

Meadowfoam Seed Oil helps replenish skin's barrier with essential fatty 

acids Omega 3 and 6.

It's super easy to use and incorporate into your existing

skincare routine and can be used by all skin types.

Just work the jelly into dry skin and feel it turn into a rich oil that 

dissolves make-up, SPF and pollution. 

Splash water and the oil turns into a milky emulsion to wash away dirt

 and impurities and leaves a beautiful hydrated finish on the skin.

Whilst I have enjoyed using this cleanser and it does everything you

require from a cleanser and leaves your skin perfectly primed

for the rest of you skincare products, 

Honestly I wasn't blown away enough to re-purchase and the

100% natural fragrance didn't do it for me either, as it 

reminded me of almonds & marzipan.

It also comes in rather pricey for a relatively small amount of

100ml and if you have followed me for sometime now,

you know that I'm not shy to spend on skincare products, but I'm

not sure that this price point is sustainable for me in the long term.

In my younger years I always set my make-up with a loose

face powder, however for the past 15 years or so face powder was

dropped from my make-up routine and to be honest I haven't

missed it.

That being said, if I were going to re-introduce one it would

be this one from BY TERRY.

This full size product was part of one of the COSMETIPS Beauty Edit,

so I'm excited to try it out and report back to you with my views.

This is a new launch from AVÈNE and I do love a face mask and

the DERMABSLU is a collection of anti-aging products aimed at the

 more mature of us. 

It promises to give the skin an immediate fresh and tightening effect,

so it's another product that I'm enthusiastic to review and

report back to you about.

I have reviewed several REN products over the years, as I was on

their PR list, but sadly I've not been for a couple of years now,

and to be honest I have had other brands and products that

have either been gifted or I have bought myself that have 

intrigued me more.

However this full size product was included in one of

my COSMETIPS Influencer beauty edits.

I was a huge fan of their Perfect Canvas Serum, so I'm

curious to see how I enjoy this cleanser.

Part of my 2022 RITUALS Advent Calendar and I couldn't be more

excited to experience another Lip Balm and you all know

how much I love a good Lip Balm.

READY STEADY GLOW DAILY AHA TONIC (REVIEW)

Being a huge fan, for several years now, of the iconic PIXIE Glow Tonic 
(which I use once daily)

I felt somewhat of a Glow Tonic Traitor when REN announced back in 2018

 that they were launching in South Africa their 
Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic

Having used several products from REN before, its a brand that I enjoy, so I was hopeful that the Ready Steady Glow Daily would be a good replacement for the

PIXIE Glow Tonic, which by the way, just lives permanently on my UK shopping list.

Simply put this skin-resurfacing toner will exfoliate and brighten your complexion,
 Lactic Acid and Willow Bark extract work together to smooth, tone and help reduce the pore size, while Azelaic Acid will brighten and help to even out skin tone, so if
your skin is lacklustre, needing to get its glow on and some energy back, then this 
could be one for you to try.
I for one love incorporating this type of exfoliating toner into my daily skincare routine.

This product is recommended to be used by all skin types and used daily.
Just swipe onto a clean skin around the face and neck, but avoid the eye area
and then follow with your normal skincare regime.
The packaging of this product comes with the nifty press down pump making
dispensing life so much easier.

My experience:

 Unfortunately I've had a slight problem with this product, despite not having a sensitive skin and using the PIXIE Glow Tonic for so many years, I found the Ready Steady Glow Tonic to burn the skin around my nose and on the cheek area, which wasn't a good start.
I was only applying once a day, despite REN saying you can use 
morning and evening. I persevered for a couple of days and that initial burn settled to a tingle, which is normal and acceptable with this type of active product.
I did find some interesting advice that REN have regarding use on a sensitive skin:

"For sensitive skin, limit use to once or twice a week. 
Do not use alongside another exfoliator. 
A slight tingle is normal, but please discontinue use if you experience redness or burning. 
Not sure it is right for you but eager to try? 
Do a patch test beforehand in a less conspicuous area"

I have continued using in order to give the product a fair trial, but sadly this product just "didn't do it for me" it didn't get my "Glow On".
Personally I found it to be quite harsh on my skin and even after following with my usual night treatments, my skin felt dry and slightly uncomfortable, 
all of which I have never encountered with my PIXIE Glow Tonic.

So it seems that my PIXIE Glow Tonic will remain on my UK Shopping List for the 
foreseeable future...
