SUSANNE KAUFMANN MOISTURISING MASK #TBT REVIEW

Todays #TBT post reviews a face mask from the Austrian
Organic Luxury skincare brand Susanne Kaufmann.
I was fortunate to try this luxurious mask back in May 2018 and I still rate
it as a very good moisturising mask and I'm happy to report that this
brand is still stocked exclusively in South Africa at

~~~~~~
Having never heard of this relatively new brand I had to do my research,
so before I get into the product review, here's some background to the
Organic niche skin and body care line
Susanne Kaufmann
Susanne Kaufmann
was born and raised in the Bregenzer Forest Austria –
a unique valley in the Alps, where the community shares a unique appreciation
and understanding of the healing properties of nature – has harnessed this
centuries-old wisdom,
passed down from generation to generation, to create an exceptional,
results-orientated and scientifically-proven range of
natural skin and body care that promotes a powerful sense of wellbeing.
Developed in collaboration with a team of pharmacists and dermatologists,
Susanne’s vision has grown into an extensive collection of skin-specific formulas –
targeted treatments designed to address the full spectrum of common
skin concerns and in turn,
 help to re-establish equilibrium.
This range of products are filled, sealed and packed by hand into very plain glass jars with
 no fancy frills,
 in fact I would most probably
have not given this, somewhat boring looking, range a second glance if
I saw it merchandised on the shelf.
However this is a real case of "don't judge a book (product) by its cover"
for what lies beneath the lid is far from plain and boring.
There is something I find so satisfying about using a Luxury face mask,
for me it's a product where you can truly feel the quality of the ingredients on
application and The Susanne Kaufmann Moisturizing Mask
is a real pamper for the skin.
It's without doubt a deeply replenishing and intensely moisturising mask.
It's a must-have for all those whose skin is particularly parched,
stressed or lacklustre.
Initially you notice the gentle yet wonderful aroma of the mask, as it certainly
has an Alpine fresh fragrance,which reminded me
very much of the original Clarins Cleanser Milk with Alpine Herbs.
This rich velvety mask is also packed with wonderful ingredients that
quite literally make me happy:
Bee's Wax and Hazel Nut Oil
richly nourishes the skin
 Wheat Germ Oil
 stimulates the metabolism and has tissue-strengthening properties
Pansy Extract
 has a calming effect that relieves irritation providing immediate relief
from tightness and discomfort
Sodium Hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid)
attracts and retains up to 1000 times its molecular weight in water,
to leave skin perfectly firm, fresh and luminous.
Suitable for all types of skin.
Generously apply to the face, neck and décolletage after cleansing,
 allow to work for at least ten minutes,
 then remove gently with lukewarm water.
It can be used one to two times per week, but I squeezed in a third
application.
After using the mask my skin not only felt nourished,comforted,plumped
but I immediately noticed that my face had an
almost relaxed and rested look about it,
which to be honest I don't think I have ever noticed before after using a face mask.
When reading back over the benefits of this mask on the Susanne Kaufmann
website this sentence stood out
"The moisturising mask hydrates the skin and removes feelings of tension".
Confirmation that this mask is different to other prestige moisturising masks
that I've tried and has piqued my interest to learn and try more from this brand.
If you are looking to change from high end skincare to effective Organic
high end skincare then Susanne Kaufmann
may be well worth some more investigation.
The 15ml sample jar that I got in the SkinsCosmetics Beauty Box some
weeks back
will happily provide me with several future generous applications.
In South Africa Susanne Kaufmann is relatively unknown premium niche brand,
 but is available from
Skins Cosmetics
in Sandton Shopping Centre, Johannesburg,
South Africa
Please let me know, in the comments below, if you have heard of this
brand or have any great recommendations within their range...
LUMENE NORDIC HYDRA AERATING GEL MASK {REVIEW}
There maybe many of you, like me that have never heard of this skincare brand
from Finland, but LUMENE has not only attracted several awards,
its also attracted the attention of many beauty editors and beauty bloggers around the world
and I have to say its attracting my attention also.
At the end of 2019 I opted to buy the
NORDIC HYDRA DEEP HYDRATION RITUAL
gift set online that contained 3 products and as always my London "Kiddiewink"
was my "beauty mule".
I really enjoy trying new brands from other countries and whilst this gift set contained
a full size day cream and lip plumper and this sample size gel mask
today my review will be on the mask only, so look out for the other 2 product reviews
coming soon on Beauty Shout Box.
I feel that Finland is so far away from South Africa, I have to include a longer
overview than I normally do about this brands story...
~~~~~~

Wild-crafted, sustainable Nordic beauty
Inspired by Nordic Women
created with Finnish nature

Lumene take inspiration from the Nordic approach to wellbeing and beauty: a region where a unique blend of resilience, mindfulness and harmony with nature is deeply rooted in everyday life.  Despite the harsh climates of the northern longitudes, Nordic women are fresh-faced, radiant and healthy-looking.

Finland is an amazing place in the world to source our natural ingredients. It is one of the last unspoilt sanctuaries on Earth, with some of our forest and wetlands certified organic and one of the purest water with 187,000 lakes and 32,000 natural springs.

They use handpicked Nordic botanicals, allowing Nature to regenerate and remain in balance. Thoughtfully selected not only for their ability to nourish the skin but also for their local origin and sustainable source.

Berries, seeds, plants, tree saps and even mushrooms have evolved in the wild over thousands of years to survive and thrive under a uniquely disruptive and challenging annual light cycle, known as the Unique Arctic Light Cycle, with 8 months of darkness followed by continuous summer light which gives Arctic plants incredible antioxidant potency.

Their skincare formulas are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. They work everyday in making their beauty products even more natural with a great efficacy, safety and sensoriality. Some of their formulas contain as high level as 100% of naturally derived ingredients.

~~~~~~
I'm sure the above ethos of this Nordic brand will resonate with many people especially
if you are looking to make that switch to a more sustainable, 100% natural, vegan
and cruelty free skincare brand.
LUMENE have around 8 skincare ranges which deal with all skin conditions & types,
as well as several make-up ranges.
The 3 products I have form part of an extensive range called
NORDIC HYDRA
[LÄHDE]
This pure and naturally refreshing is specifically formulated for deep hydration for dehydrated and dry skin; formulated with Organic Nordic Birch Sap, intensely hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and skin pH friendly Arctic Spring Water that leave a healthy-looking, fresh skin and a smooth, pleasantly hydrated feel.
NORDIC HYDRA
Hydration Recovery Aerating Gel Mask
 The innovative airy water-gel formula, which I loved, helps to provide an instant surge of hydration resulting in a comfortable, fully hydrated, soft and supple
feeling on the skin.
Contains Pure Arctic Spring Water to promote a healthy-looking complexion,
replenishing Organic Nordic Birch Sap and our Hydra-Technology designed to
instantly boost the skin's moisture level.
This mask can be used in the usual way:
Apply a generous amount to a clean skin and leave for 5-10 minutes
 and remove with water
OR
Apply a thin layer to a clean skin and leave overnight, then remove with water.
The latter was my preferred choice of application, as I'm of an age where I need
to maximise the benefits of any face mask, so if they can be left on overnight
I'm on board.
This mask can be used 2-3 times a week or whenever needed.
I adore everything about this mask from the clean lines of the packaging,
   its cooling gel formula, to the way it makes my
skin feel - hydrated, soft, plumped and quenched.
Its been such an easy product to incorporate into my skincare routine and much
needed to counteract the dehydrating effects of air conditioning
A full size mask is for sure being added to my next Overseas Shopping List and I'm
 excited to bring you my thoughts on the other 2 LUMENE products soon.
QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS {QPR'S} SEPTEMBER 2019
I have several QPR'S to tell you about this month as I didn't do one during August.
The first one is a little random, as its not a true beauty item, but hey it makes my car smell beautiful so it's classed as beauty...
1.
Brand : YANKEE CANDLE
Product : Smart Vent Clip
Red Raspberry
Price : R100
I'm a huge fan of both Yankee Candle Candles and their selection of car fragrance.
Having tried their  Car Jars and Car Vent Sticks I thought I
would try the Smart Vent Clip .
I'm a bit of a sucker when it comes to berries whether they be Raspberries
or Strawberries I just love them both, so I had to try this Red Raspberry fragrance.
This ingenious little clip delivers big fragrance. You simply clip it into your
vehicle’s dash vent and the fragrance is released as air flows from the vents.
An adjustable slide lets you decide just how much fragrance is released and a window shows you when it’s time for a new one.
Lasts up to 6 weeks.
Verdict : 7 /10
Brand : LA GIRL
Product : PRO PREP COLOUR CORRECTING PRIMER
Shade : Cool Pink
Price : R125
Size : 30mls
Exclusive to Dis-Chem Pharmacies
Prep skin for makeup application while correcting skin tone. This nourishing formula contains sodium hyaluronate and vitamin B to help hold moisture and improve skin appearance, while chamomile and cornflower extract soothe skin.
Available in 4 colour correcting shades and 1 colourless option. Choice is dependant on what correcting is your priority.I'm always looking for a primer to illuminate and brighten my skin and lucky I don't have any issues with redness or hyper pigmentation.
The Primer glided well over the skin and felt comfortable in terms of moisture.
 It performed well as a primer , but I'm not too sure about how much illuminating and brightening it gave to my skin, but bear in mind that the older we get, the more we demand from products that claim to brighten and illuminate.
Considering it's a drugstore brand, at a drugstore price, it performed reasonably well,
but there are better available, but with a much higher price ticket...
Verdict : 6/10
Brand : SKIN REPUBLIC
Product : BRIGHTENING EYE MASK
Price : R49.95
Size : 3 pack 23mls
I have to say I wasn't expecting great things from this Brightening Eye Mask
and yet again I find myself praising a product that I was previously
sceptical about.
The market seems to be flooded at the moment with all kinds of sheet masks
and to be honest I find them a FAFF to use, as they never fit my face etc.
An eye mask on the other hand I'll use and even though this is a complete over the eyes and nose mask, which also was huge on me, it was easier to manipulate and position.
Containing 3 masks and loads of serum, this triple action cooling eye serum not only brightens, reduces puffiness but it also refreshes tired eyes thanks to Vitamin C, niacinamide and liquorice extract.
I loved this mask, it was effective on all counts and offered good value for money,
as the excess serum left over in the pouch could be used as an eye serum without the mask. I give a big thumbs up to this eye mask...
Verdict :  8/10
