INGLOT COSMETICS UNDER MAKEUP BASE {REVIEW}

I don't use make-up primers that often, but when I do it's always the Benefit POREfessional that I reach for.

I was recently given a sample of the INGLOT Under Makeup Base, so I thought I would put it to the test to see if the application of an under make-up base really does prolong the life of your foundation, especially on my mature skin.
I managed to get several uses from my small sachet sample, as a little goes an extremely long way.

INGLOT Under Make-up Base

Claims:

The INGLOT hypoallergenic primer has been formulated for all skin types and makeup finishes
(so my mature, normal/dry skin using a liquid foundation ticks this box)
It also absorbs excess facial oil (which I don't have)
It claims to scatter light (which sounds good for me)
It gives all skin types a matte look and silky smooth finish(a matte finish is ideal for a combination to oily skin and the silky smooth finish is a must in a primer)

So did this product deliver on its claims and more importantly did it prolong the life of my foundation?

This clear, non sticky, silicone gel has no fragrance and glided onto my skin beautifully.
I only needed to use a small amount after my normal moisturiser and I found it was better to leave for a couple of minutes to settle before applying your foundation.
(This product contains several silicones therefore I would strongly advise you not to use too much, as it could have the opposite effect and possibly cause your make-up to not set and stay but rather slip n slide, which is not the desired effect)

Post application my skin did feel incredibly smooth and comfortable and I experienced no drying effect and not having any excess oil I can't comment on whether it absorbs oils well or not.
It certainly enabled me to work and blend my foundation longer around my face before it started to dry or set, so it would be great if you normally wear one of the many foundations where you have to work quickly.

Primers are designed to create a smooth canvas on which to then apply your make-up, which it certainly did.

The matte finish wasn't an issue for my skin, as the foundation that I applied over was my usual dewy and light enhancing one, but the matte finish of this under make-up base would be a nice bonus for a more combination skin.
(they do make a Mattifying Under Makeup Base for excessively oily skins)

Did it prolong the longevity of my daily make-up?

 Yes...I felt it did.

However would I purchase this product from using the sample?

Unfortunately not.

Despite its pleasing results I find it difficult to justify R399 for a product to prolong the wear of my make-up, when it's not really a major concern for me.
I personally would rather invest R400 into a skincare product,
but that's moi!

If you do however experience difficulties with the finish and staying power of your daily make-up then this primer is certainly one to consider.

MY 3 "GO TO" QUICK DRY NAIL POLISHES

As you can imagine after wearing nail polish daily on both my toes and my fingers for the
past thirty odd years, I have tried many.
With continued research and development the speed at which a polish dries has improved immensely and after all, that's what most of us are searching for "a quick drying nail polish".
I'm sure we have all attempted to paint our nails quickly before going out only to be left with smudges and the feeling that we should have left the old polish on.

I have 3 brands that I turn to when a quick dry mani is essential.

1.

INGLOT

Not only do they have a great colour selection, but this is my first "go to" polish for a
really quick dry.

~~~~~~
2.
CNDVinylux
This has been a recent find for me and I am really impressed with the speed at which this range
of polishes dries and it gives a "chip free" mani for days.
3.
Nailsinc.
This has to be my favourite nail polish brand and I have more nailsinc
colours than any other.
I love their vast colour range, the brush width, ease of application and speed of drying making this
an all round "fave" of mine for a couple of years.
INGLOT 02M NAIL ENAMEL {REVIEW}
Nail Polish, Nail Varnish, Nail Enamels whatever you want to call them,
they are all the same or are they?
Apparently not and one of the newest technologies comes from the Polish brand
INGLOT
by the way of 02M Nail Enamel which uses a revolutionary breathable formula.
INGLOT
have an extensive range of nail colours and nail treatment products e.g.
ridge fillers,cuticle oil, cuticle removing gel to name but a few.
At this point I can guess what most people are probably thinking,
 as I thought the same, but let's hear about this breathable formula...
- Originally used mainly for contact lenses, KS-02 polymer:
- significantly increases oxygen permeability of the nail enamel
- ensures water vapour permeability of the nail enamel
- facilitates spreading of the varnish
- reduces film tightness
I am sure you will agree, it all sounds very advanced and technical,
 yet I have been using nail polish for nearly 30 years and I am really not "getting"
the need for this kind of enamel, as I have never experienced film tightness
or the need to facilitate the spreading of the varnish, as nowadays any
decent polish spreads well.
If you are looking for a healthier option of nail enamel then perhaps
 this is the one to buy!
In my quest to get an "understanding" for this product I did some research and soon realized, what was originally created as a "healthy" option has become
a "must have" by many women of the Muslim faith.
Ok I know, you may be confused right now and you are wondering what does
religion have to do with a nail varnish.
Take your eyes back up to the features of this breathable formula
and there lies the answer - ensure water vapour permeability of the nail enamel!
A “breathable” nail polish is said to be halal (allowed by Islamic law) and provides no obstacle for women who want to complete their wudhu (ablution) before the daily prayers.
Nail polish is considered inconsistent with wudhu because of the physical layer it creates over the nails. This prevents water from cleansing the nails, which is a requirement for wudhu.
Therefore, a woman would have remove her nail polish every time she needs to renew her wudhu, which may mean removing and re-varnishing several times a day.However it seems like this new formula nail enamel has caused some controversy, despite being hugely popular in many Muslim countries.
Be that as it may, what are my opinions on this polish!
1. The bottle was easy in the hand.
2. The width of the brush made it really easy to apply.
3. The spreadability of the product was no different to any other good polish.
4. Quick drying.
5. I found, despite my nails being clean and I mixed the bottle thoroughly
 before use,the polish deposited tiny flecks of beads on my nail
 (Not dissimilar to the dust left behind after filing your nails)
This meant that the finish was not smooth.
5. I also found it to chip literally after a day of wearing.
6. The colour also faded on my nails and lost its intensity.
The INGLOT O2M NAIL ENAMEL
retails in South Africa for R159 which is pricey!
Would I buy it again?
No, as I really could not see any short term benefit of using this product,
but I did love the colour.
 I bought shade 607 and if they had a color in their collection that I just
had to have then I would consider buying again.
