QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS {QPR'S} JANUARY 2020

The 1st QPR post of 2020 and it contains my thoughts on an eye cream from an
affordable drugstore brand. The 2 other products were inclusions in my
2019 Beauty Advent Calendar, the one being from a brand that I've never tried
 before and the other is a product from a wellness brand that I generally enjoy.

1.

Brand : mineraline
Product : Aloe Vera Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream
Price : R199
Size : 20mls
Available : Exclusively at Dischem

I have reviewed several products from mineraline and for the money they never disappoint and if you are on a tight beauty budget then this is an
Anti-Ageing Eye cream to consider.
This eye cream is rich in antioxidants and minerals which moisturize and heal, speed
up cell reproduction and increasing collagen production.
Boosted with Aloe Vera’s naturally-occurring anti-aging properties with Vitamin E,
 proven to reduce the appearance of lines and increase skin’s elasticity and suppleness. These ingredients are blended with the ultra-hydrating Shea Butter, Almond Oil, and Avocado Oil to maintain the the area around your eyes perfectly moisturized throughout the day and night.
Is it the best eye cream that I've ever used NO...
Is the best eye cream I've ever used for under R200 YES...

Verdict :  7/10

Brand : RITUALS
Product : THE RITUAL OF AYURVEDA
Natural Dry Oil for Body & Hair
Price : £19.50
N/A in SA
Size : 100mls

I was excited to find this as an inclusion in the Lookfantastic beauty advent calendar,
as I've been loving several of the RITUAL OF AYURVEDA products over the past year.
To be used as a massage oil warm the oil between your hands and
using slow, soft strokes, massage the oil gently into the body - moving from head to toe.
Sadly I was a little disappointed with this product.
As far as being a Dry massage Oil its great, as it quickly absorbs leaving no surface
oily residue on the skin whatsoever, yet you can still massage easily.
However I was a little disappointed with the fragrance of this product, as
the usual Ritual of Ayurveda has an
Indian Rose & Sweet Almond Oil aroma, which I absolutely love and it
isn't the same in the dry oil, due to it being more enriched with nourishing herbs
and sadly its that herb fragrance that I don't personally like.

Verdict :  5/10

Brand : NEAL'S YARD REMEDIES
Product : Wild Rose Hand Cream
Price : £10.00
N/A in SA
Size : 50mls

NEAL'S YARD REMEDIES started back in 1981 in Londons Covent Garden and having
been in their shops many times this is the first product that I am trying and that's
thanks once again to the beauty advent calendar.
This Wild Rose Hand Cream is a firm favourite with customers and I can see why,
its enriched with anti-oxidants,organic  essential oils of wild rosehip, geranium and patchouli. It nourishes the hands and leaves them feeling incredibly soft.
I didn't find his hand cream to be fast absorbing and I found using it
before bed more suitable for me.

Verdict :  8/10

QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS {QPR'S} JUNE 2019

I thought it was time I brought you up to speed on a couple of products that
I have been using over the last few weeks and that have made it onto my QPR post.
That being said they are both budget friendly and easily available from
Dischem's countrywide

1.

Brand : CATRICE
Product : VOLUMISING LIP BALM
Price : R89.99

Even though this lip product isn't new its been a firm favourite of mine for a couple of years now and you will always find one in my handbag.
I was originally sent this product to review from the PR's of Catrice and I've both used
and recommended it ever since, so I was excited to see that recently they've extended the range to include a selection of sheer tints and the beautiful deeper pink caught my eye.

It offers the same volumising and cooling feeling, but with a tint, as opposed to the previous transparent balm. Its great to either wear alone or over the top of pretty much any other lipstick shade and I'm loving the versatility.

Verdict : 8/10

2.

Brand : MINERALINE
Product : REJUVENATE ANTIOXIDANT VITASERUM
Price : R265.00
Size : 50mls
If you are looking to maybe upgrade your skincare regime, but budget is limited
then MINERALINE (exclusively available at all Dischem's countrywide) is a range
to consider.I have used several of their products and I rate then in terms of
"Value for not very much money"

Containing the usual trade mark Dead Sea minerals, Vitamin C, which stimulates the formation of collagen, The potent antioxidant properties of Vitamin C are boosted with those of Vitamin E and together they repair and prevent spots, lines, and other signs of oxidation caused by pollution, sun damage, and age. Vitamin B5 soothes, heals, and hydrates your skin.

Formulated to be used by all skin types it can be used morning and evening under your usual creams, however the key to using this product is to only apply a thin film and as I always say "less is more".
 Vitaserum is just the daily multivitamin your skin needs.

Verdict : 8/10

MINERALINE ALOE VERA BODY LOTION {REVIEW}

If you are looking for a lightweight Body Lotion for the hot
summer months then check out this Aloe Vera Body Lotion from
 mineraline

I have been using mine now for several weeks and what I love about this product
is that its a "No Fuss" kinda product.

The plastic bottle with a flip top lid makes it super easy and quick to apply
and you can also control the amount you use.

You soon realise on the first application just how cooling the lightweight gel/lotion
is, perfect for those hot, humid summer days.
The fragrance is clean and fresh and it glides over the skin easily and is absorbed
with very little massage.
It's not sticky or greasy and keeps my skin suitably moisturised
and its just how I like a summer body lotion to be.

QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS {QPR} JUNE 2018

My last QPR post was back in March,so I thought it was time to bring you
up to speed on some products that I've been trying since then.

~~~~~~
1.
Brand : Mineraline
Product : Invigorating Aloe Vera Gel
250ml
Price : R125
Aloe Vera is well known for treating burns, skin abrasions and irritations,
by quickly cooling and soothing the affected area.
My tube of Mineraline Invigorating Aloe Vera Gel was put to the test recently
 when the London "Kiddiewink" arrived for a month's holiday
 and managed to over expose his skin, in other words he got sunburnt.
Initially this soft green tinted gel feels quite sticky on application
but when it dries down the stickiness disappears and leaves the skin
feeling soothed and calmed.
It turned out to be a life saver and the inclusion of Dead Sea Minerals
and Vitamin B5 ensured that the skin was left feeling moisturised.
I've been using as an all over body gel and I'm loving both the consistency
and the cooling effects of the gel.It would be great for a Summer body gel.
Apparently it can also be used to calm an irritated scalp.
This product offers great value for an affordable price of R125
for a generous 250mls of product and is definitely one to add to
your shopping list.
Verdict : 8/10
2.
Brand : Dove
Product : DermaSpa Goodness3 Hand Cream
75ml
Price : R49.95 (Current price as its 20% off at Clicks)
Dove have recently launched a hand cream as part of their
DermaSpa range of products.
On application It immediately smells spa-like, as it's fragranced with Vanilla,
Musk and coconut and blended with Omega Oil.
Without doubt it leaves your hands feeling comfortably moisturised and velvety
soft.It's fast absorbing and great to massage into your cuticles and nails, its
like giving yourself a hand spa treatment at home.
This is, a good affordable hand cream backed by the research and development
of Dove.
Verdict : 7/10
3.
Brand : Rimmel
Product : Lip Liner 1000 Kisses
Shade : Cappuccino
Price : R95.00
On a previous QPR post I reviewed the inexpensive Ultra Last Lip Liner from
Essence and I was suitably impressed and it encouraged me to try
another lip liner, this time one from Rimmel.
Not being "big" on lining my lips I only have the essence one to compare
this Rimmel one to.
I found this one to be a much harder pencil and not as long lasting, despite
the colour being good, I much prefer the texture of the essence and it
comes in way cheaper than the Rimmel.
Verdict : 5/10
