NARS BLUSH/ BRONZER DUO #TBT REVIEW

It was a year ago I wrote my review on this super hyped

Bronzer/Blush Duo form NARS and not only was I disappointed, but I also

wasted my money as its just be sitting in drawer unused and I hate 

waste.

my 1st NARS purchase came via Duty Free and

I decided on their iconic Duo of Orgasm Blush and Laguna Bronzer.

FRANCOIS NARS Make-up Artist, Founder & Creative Director 

started his own brand NARS back in 1994 with iconic 12 Lipsticks

and as they say "The Rest is History".

Having heard so much about this Blush and Bronzer, I waited

patiently for my "cosmetic mule" to return, as I was excited to finally 

experience

 a little bit of the NARS world.

However my initial reaction when I opened the duty free packet was

"How Small" 

Yes, the 2 pans were no larger than an eyeshadow pan and

despite my mule being told they were full sizes it seems this

Duo palette could be a travel size, despite it looking more like a 

sample size or even a free gift sizing.

Ok initial disappointment over I went in with my smallest blusher brush

only to discover it was near impossible to pick up any product as

the pans were so small. 

After several brush changes I managed to pick up some

of the product and apply, by which time all of my enthusiasm had waned.

Yet I still had hope that these iconic NARS products would redeem 

themselves.

Sadly it just went from bad to worse, as I couldn't jump onboard

with all the love shown to these 2 products.

LAGUNA BRONZER

This award winning bronzer claims to offer the 

"Ultimate Healthy Glow"

Diffused brown pigments with a golden sheen create an all over warmth

soft, natural-looking colour for a long wearing sunkissed glow.

Unfortunately I have nothing to rave about re this product, it's just

a nice bronzer.

ORGASM BLUSH

Is a cult-favorite, bestselling NARS Blush and delivers a weightless, 

 natural-looking rush of cheek colour. 

It does offer a natural wash of colour that seems to suit every skin tone

and whilst I found this Peachy Pink blush with a shimmer of gold more

 enjoyable than the bronzer, it's still just another "nice shade".

I also had the NARS CLIMAX MASCARA on my Duty Free shopping list

and it was out of stock, but perhaps I'll give the mascara a miss now...

To be honest 

I was soo disappointed and I'm not sure what all the hype is about

 regarding these 2 products, despite having zillions of cult followers, 

sadly I won't be one of them...

QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEW {QPR} MAY 2022

I have a mixed bag of some "hits" and some "misses" in 

this QPR post.

All of these 4 make-up items were inclusions in my 

2 Beauty Advent calendars,

so hence the shades were not of my choosing.

1.

Brand : NARS

Product : VELVET MATTE LIP PENCIL

Shade : DOLCE VITA

Price : $27

This NARS Cult-favourite Velvet Matte Lip Pencil instantly delivers the impact

 of a matte lipstick, but in a soft chunky pencil form.

I found it to be long lasting with a non-drying formula, good colour

pay-off and super easy to apply.

Unfortunately the shade was not ideal for me and whilst I am using 

to outline my lips I'm finding I cannot use to fill in the lips due to the

shade not being correct.

Would I buy in another shade, probably not...

Verdict : 5/10

Brand : SHISEIDO

Product : COLOUR GEL LIPBALM

Shade : 107 DAHLIA

Size : 2g

Price : $26

This lightweight-yet-hydrating balm melds provide the perfect amount 

of structure and slip. 

Infused with patented humectant technology, this balm-lipstick hybrid 

offers lasting moisture and comfort, leaving lips feeling softer.

It offers a semi-sheer coverage and a delicate, shiny finish.

Again the shade wasn't exactly what what I would have chosen, but it was

 wearable and I liked the formula and the packaging very much.

Verdict : 7/10

Brand : LAURA MERCIER

Product : CAVIAR EYE STICK COLOR STICK

Shade : AU NATUREL

Price : $16

Over the past couple of years I've really enjoyed a cream eyeshadow,

especially in a stick/crayon format.

This long-wearing versatile eyeshadow stick delivers effortless application.

Pigment-rich shades glide seamlessly onto lids.

 Creamy formula gives you plenty of time to smudge, blend, line, fill or define, 

so it's easy to create any look.

It's crease and transfer resistant and layers easily.

Again the shade wouldn't have been of my choosing and as the name 

suggests its Au Naturel, which is rather a nondescript shade.

I, personally, highly rate the BYTERRY Ombre Blackstar Color Fix

Brand : BY TERRY

Product : BLENDER SPONGE

Price : R90

Having been a fan of the "Beauty Blender" for many years

I was quite happy to see this appear behind one of the

doors in my advent calendar and I'm glad to report back

that I love it and would say I prefer it to my BB.

Can be used wet or dry.

I'm enjoying the shape, the squishiness and the way it feels

in my hand and it seems to be lasting well with no breaking 

up of the sponge.

 I think in the future these will be my blending sponge of choice.

Verdict : 9/10

BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW {APRIL 2022}

Yes it's another "Currently Under Review" post and it also means that 

we are a quarter way through 2022 and that's scary.

This month I have 2 skincare items, a hair product and a make-up item.

I was lucky recently in that I had a "cosmetic mule" that was coming

through Istanbul Airport Duty Free and was able to bring me a 

couple of beauty products.

Sadly the majority of things I wanted were Out of Stock!

I have previously reviewed 2 or 3 products from the USA brand

Living Proof and loved them both, in fact their Dry Shampoo is the 

absolute best and I have several back-ups, as I really don't want

This wasn't on my Duty Free Shopping List, but due to so many

items on my list being Out of Stock and thanks to Whatsapp video I

 spotted this in a reduced basket.

I'm excited to try this Detangling/Heat Protecting/Strengthening

Smoothing Spray and I hope it won't disappoint.

NARS

BLUSH/BRONZER DUO

Other than recently receiving a NARS Lip Pencil in a recent Beauty

Advent Calendar (which I haven't tried yet) this is my only

other NARS product that I own. 

Again this was a Duty Free request along

with their CLIMAX Mascara, which was sadly out of stock.

This Duo contains their most popular and Iconic

Orgasm Blusher and Laguna Bronzer.

Do I need anymore Blushers & Bronzers? NO, but I couldn't pass

by the chance of these 2 in the one palette.

However any one that has this Duo will know just how small the pans

are and to be honest I'm extremely disappointed in the sizing,

hopefully the product itself will make up for the size.

I have had my eye on these resurfacing pads from ELEMIS for sometime

 now and I finally have my chance to try them thanks to ELEMIS recently

 sending me a collection of Skin Wellness Essentials and as I have said

a zillion times a resurfacing/exfoliating/scrub type product is a vital

part of everyones skincare regime.

OVERNIGHT HYDRATING

This face mask from SKOON. caught my eye on the WOOLWORTHS

 website recently and being less 25% and me being in need of a

 Hydrating Face Mask

(I wasn't really needing one)
