FRIDAY FINDS - CATRICE BOLD SOFTNESS

These products from CATRICE caught my eye this week in Dis-Chem and they form part of
their new Limited Edition Collection called

Bold Softness

Launched this week the range focuses on the soft sorbet pastel shades for lips, nails and eyes
to create a feminine look.
Some of the products and colours didn't appeal to me, but I have chosen my personal "faves" and they are all at prices that won't break the 'Beauty Bank".

Satin Matt Nail Lacquer

The formula of the Satin Matt Nail Lacquers stands out for professional coverage, long durability and unique neoprene effects.
All polishes have a fashionable semi-matt finish.
R52.95

Bold PINKmentation
Mauve Medley
Soft PINKmentation

Colour Correcting Powder

All for One. Multi-coloured powder with a mosaic pattern for a colour-balancing effect: while beige-rosé mattifies and refreshes tired-looking skin, green battles redness and violet captures the light. The result: a flawless complexion. The Colour Correcting Powder comes in a high-quality white packaging with an integrated mirror.
If you have ever thought about buying a Colour Correcting Powder, but didn't want to pay the usual high prices then this could just be the answer at R69.95

FRIDAY FINDS - ESSENCE ALL THAT GREYS

I have found some really affordable goodies for this weeks "Friday Finds" post.

I must say I do love a grey tone nail polish for winter, especially as I tend to wear more black and grey and these 3 shades of grey (R39.95) caught my eye from the newly launched Essence Trend Edition called
 "All That Greys".
The entire collection is inspired by the roaring twenties where shades of grey are matched with rosy red shades.
If it's time to update your look this winter, then check out the whole collection currently available in
selected Clicks countrywide and in Dischem's from the 1st July.

I thought I would share some of my favourites.

Back to Black
Step into the Grey Zone
Time to Grey Up

I also love this Rose, Red & Grey eyeshadow palette which offers seven soft, powdery textured shades, all with high coverage.
This would be a palette where I would make use of every colour, unlike some where there is always a couple that I don't like hence I don't use.
This eyeshadow palette retails for
R96.50

The soft rosewood colour of this lip gloss looks like it was made for me.
It has high coverage with a glossy finish and retails for only
R39.95

FRIDAY FINDS - AROMA SOOTHZ

Over the past few months I have unfortunately neglected my Friday Finds post so here goes...

Today I found in a local chemist (Sunningdale Pharmacy) a range of Aroma Soothz products that really appealed to me and only when I did some research did I discover that they are based in Durban North, a couple of km's away from "Moi".

I excitedly purchased the Aroma Soothz Soothing Foot Bathz R25 and a Soothing Neckz Lavender infused wheat bag R220 and here is some background to my new found goodies:

AROMA SOOTHZ
was founded in November 2005 by Heidi and Tina with a mission of providing quality Health and Beauty products to soothe the body, mind and soul. The innovative pair shares an interest in alternative remedies and while travelling abroad stumbled on the idea of aroma infused wheat bags. New developments and ideas in the holistic world appealed to them and so they set up an aromatherapy company selling holistic products to consumers in South Africa. The idea of ‘well-being’ as an interdependence of spirituality and mental relaxation balanced with soothing aching muscles and joints led them to the concept of Aroma Soothz. The pair is dedicated to researching and developing new products which are created, manufactured and packaged in South Africa. This means they are a Proudly South African supplier to the Health and Beauty Industry and are able to uplift and improve the lives of fellow South Africans. Quality assurance with high quality ingredients, fabrics and essential oils are top of their priorities.

Aroma Soothz Soothing Foot Bathz R25

I have had a similar foot soak at a couple of salons around the country as part of a pedicure, so I was happy to see that I could now buy for home use. The process of soaking those tired aching feet involves two steps Step 1 - Caviar Gel Step 2 - Crystals. I hope to bring you a review soon.

Soothing Neckz Lavender (infused wheat bag) R220

I have been looking for a new wheat bag for some time as my mysteriously disappeared.
This Aroma Soothz caught my eye, as it's infused with Lavender Essential Oils, so not only does the heat ease aches and pains, but the inhalation of the Lavender helps to relax and calm.
Review to follow soon.

FRIDAY FINDS

This weeks Friday Finds are not to be found in SA but rather in the UK....
As our poor South African Rand gets weaker by the day our spending power when overseas is getting less and less. I am sure some of you will know that awful feeling that you get when something catches your eye in a shop and you speedily, yet reluctantly turn the item over to check the £ price and following a quick mental calculation you put it down just as quickly, as it's too expensive.
Part of my holiday is always spent looking for appealing, inexpensive and lightweight gifts to bring back for family and friends.
On my recent trip to the UK I visited several coastal towns where there happened to be life boat stations, which have small gift shops attached selling the cutest RNLI branded items.
not only are some of the gifty items quite affordable, but you are helping a very good cause.

So if you find yourself passing by a Royal National Lifeboat Institute station at the seaside, then why not do a little side step and pop in, as you may just find some of those appealing, inexpensive and lightweight gifts that I mentioned early.

These were my three RNLI purchases:

FRIDAY FEEDBACK

Since early last year I have been on the look out for inexpensive cleansers and toners to review and report back to you on. Unfortunately my good intentions were short lived, as I discovered this cleansing milk from the French brand Yves Rocher and have just recently bought another bottle making this my fourth or fifth re purchase. The fact that I keep re purchasing this inexpensive cleanser speaks volumes... I love it!

FRIDAY FINDS

I have just realized that it has been some weeks since I did a "Friday Finds" post, so a trip to my local Rain store at Gateway was needed. With being away for the past few weeks it's been a while since I checked out what was new or "newish" in one of my favourite stores.
Below are some of a few things that caught my eye...
Don't forget you can order online if a trip to a rain shop is not possible, but I can highly recommend the service and all round shopping experience at the Gateway branch.

These banana glycerine soaps on a rope
are so sweet and fun and make a perfect gift

These handmade natural bristle body brushes

FRIDAY FIND {KENTISH BRAMLEY APPLE & BLACKBERRY PIE}

This weeks Friday Find is a "foodie" one.
I have been buying these imported Marks & Spencers Kentish Bramley Apple and Blackberry Pies from Woolworths, for sometime now and they are delicious!
Not being much of a baker it's far easier to leave any fruit pie baking to the professionals.
You will find this product in the frozen food section of the larger Woolworths and they are available online. It couldn't be any simpler to bake, just take straight from the freezer and you literally pop it into a 180 degree preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes and you will have yourself a fruit pie that is packed with chunks of Bramley Apple and whole blackberries in a shortcrust all butter pastry lattice.
Just add custard, cream or ice cream and you have a "hit" dessert that all the family will love....
and it gets even better, as they retail for only R49.95...
serves 4 and is suitable for vegetarians.
Let me know your thoughts.
Enjoy!

FRIDAY FINDS {TEACHERS GIFTS]

As another school year comes to an end, its time again to think about those Teachers gifts.
Having had two boys go through the schooling system, the teachers gifting was a non entity once they started high school, but Pre, Junior and Senior Primary phases it was a highlight for my "kiddie winks".
They loved to choose that special gift for that special teacher and I wasn't always in agreement with their choices, but hey! it was their teacher and it was a gift to say thank you for putting up with them for the whole year....personally some deserved gold medals, but that's another story.
Here is a selection of some lovely gifting ideas for under a R100 for today's Friday Finds.
They can all be ordered online from Woolworths and at the moment all orders
over R700 are delivered free.

FRIDAY FINDS - INSLEE HAYNES

This weeks" Friday Finds" is actually an Internet find and I was very tempted to place an order online, until I saw that they deliver to everywhere in the world except South Africa!
So I will have to move onto plan B.

Inslee Haynes produces a beautiful range of boxed cards and note cards. Each collection is presented in elegant, simple gold and white boxes.
They cost around $25 to $35 for a box of 10 A6 cards.

I would personally frame most of these cards, as I love all of her illustrations and as if it couldn't get any better, you can commission Inslee to create your personalised range of wedding stationary, from Bridal shower and wedding invites to sketches of the bridal couple and party. So guess who will be doing my wedding invites, next time, if I get married to a wealthy guy that is.....

Simple yet elegant

FRIDAY FINDS

My "Friday Finds" post this week takes on a fun Royal Baby theme.
This post is my "tongue in cheek" opinion as to what a Royal Baby really needs.
Enjoy!

Every Royal Baby needs a crib, that will always remind the "nanny" as to who you are.

The baby will need to have something to remind himself of the occasion of his birth
in years to come.

Every baby needs a useful romper suit or two

Oh! and he must have a Royal teddy bear to guard over him in his crib

A silver pacifier is a must! Spoons are so yesterday!

He also needs his own crown that will keep his Royal head warm!

Congratulations to Kate and William
on the birth of their little
bundle of
Royal joy
