RAIN EXFOLIATING FACIAL SCRUB {REVIEW}

 Exfoliators... my favourite product of all products and I love
reviewing them and I have yet another one to tell you about.

The RAIN Exfoliating Facial Scrub is a relatively new scrub on the block.
As with all exfoliating products they're formulated to remove dead skin cells
and RAIN use ground apricot seeds to provide mechanical exfoliation and this product also contains citric acid (AHA) to provide natural chemical exfoliation.
Marula and argan oils provide moisture whilst Aloe ferox soothes the skin.

Suitable for all skin types and it can be used 3-5 times a week.
Naturally fragranced with lemongrass and grapefruit essential oils and is
Vegan-friendly.

If I'm honest I wasn't expecting anything outstanding from this product, yet
once again I have been proven wrong, as I have been pleasantly surprised
 at how effective this exfoliator is and whilst the ground apricot seeds are
 noticeable in texture (which I happen to enjoy) the product is gentle and
does not strip and leave the skin feeling taught and dry, like so many
scrubs can do. My skin felt so smooth and it out performed many scrub
s that I have tried and tested and this was
by far one of the best smelling, the lemongrass & grapefruit fragrance
 is refreshing and positively divine.
Another standout for me is the packaging, it's super slimline tube,
 still houses 50 mls of product, yet it takes up hardly any space and would
be great for travel.
Overall it's an affordable, easy to use, effective facial scrub, one that would incorporate seamlessly into anyones existing skin routine.

EXUVIANCE TRIPLE MICRODERMABRASION FACE POLISH {REVIEW]

I suppose,as long as I write reviews on exfoliating products, I will always sound like a
"stuck record" and here I am stuck again...
With regular exfoliation, your skin will be smoother and brighter and absorb other skin products optimally.
The removal of those surface drying dead skin cells transform a dull skin into a glowing radiant
 skin after only one application.
Exfoliation is such an important and key product in any skincare regime,
it's the one product that will give you instant and visible results.
Exfoliation without doubt improve the effectiveness of all other skincare products in your daily skincare regime and if you haven't yet introduced one then I advise you do so immediately...

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish
is the first product from Exuviance that I have tried and as always like to give you
some brand background before I give you my thoughts on the product...

Exuviance Skin Care
was created by the founding Dermatologist partners of the
NeoStrata® Company Inc. USA.
They discovered the anti-aging benefits of Glycolic Acid and created and patented the first Glycolic Peel. This innovative range contains only clinically proven ingredients, supported by independent, peer-reviewed scientific articles in major medical and cosmetic dermatology journals – the highest professional marker for any product.
The range includes botanicals and offers a variety of anti-ageing ingredients including Alpha and Poly Hydroxy Acids, Retinol, Peptides, Neoglucosamine® and antioxidant-based products which exfoliate, moisturise and protect the skin for optimum skin health and youthful radiance.

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish is a completely innovative exfoliator
that masters a triple-action approach to skin transformation in a single
 yet powerful treatment.
It contains a unique blend of physical, chemical and enzyme rejuvenators.

Key ingredients include professional Grade Crystals to smooth skin, a Papaya Enzyme,
and 10% Glycolic Acid to help dissolve impurities that contribute to congested pores, loosen dead skin cells, and speed up cell renewal.
Polishes the skin to a silky softness leaving it with a radiant glow.

*Can be used on all skin types.
*Use once or twice a week or as required preferably in the evening.
(on sensitive skins once a week)
*Apply a thin layer to a clean wet face, gently massaging in a circular motion
for 30 seconds.
*Do not scrub this product into the skin as the enzymes will remove skin debris
without harsh scrubbing.
*Some tingling may occur due to the active ingredient formulation - this is normal.
*Leave on the skin for up to 2 minutes.
*Rinse thoroughly with warm water and gently pat dry.
*Follow the other products in your skin care regimen.
*A sunscreen during the day is highly recommended with this product due to
the inclusion of AHA's.

This product does not contain plastic polyethylene beads which are harmful to the environment.
 Non-comedogenic.
Not tested on animals.
 Paraben free

I'm often left slightly disappointed with some products as they can often fail
to deliver on many of their promises, but this product delivers on all.
If you are new to the idea of skin exfoliation or new to using Glycolic Acids
then this is not the type of active exfoliator to jump straight in with, as I
suggest starting with a less active/gentler product and I have many good recommendations.

You can feel the professional grade crystals between your fingers, as they
are quite large and the only other product that I've tried that is very similar is the
La Prairie Cellular Mineral Face Exfoliator, which I absolutely adored, as with all things
La Prairie it comes with a seriously luxe price, so if you are looking for a cheaper,
yet just as effective option then definitely check out this Exuviance one.
On my first application I was amazed at how quickly the Papaya Enzyme and
the 10% Glycolic Acid got to work,
you leave on for a maximum of 2minutes, which means that we can all find time
to exfoliate at least once or twice a week.
After my skin felt incredibly smooth, soft and glowing (the good glow) and as with any peel/scrub type product it's imperative that you apply a product to repair the Hydro Lipidic Layer or barrier function, so its always best to exfoliate and then apply
either a mask/serum or night cream post treatment.
Being a fan of all types of exfoliating products whether they be chemical,physicalor enzyme ones, this is why I'm enjoying the Exuviance one so much, as it combines all three in a single super quick and effective product and it's one to seriously consider if you are looking to "up" your exfoliating stakes...

THE ORDINARY AHA 30% + BHA 2% PEELING SOLUTION {REVIEW} #TBT REVIEW

This post was written back in December 2017 and I'm happy to say that
I still enjoying this peeling Solution from The Ordinary.
I replenish my stocks with every trip overseas and in my opinion this is
the best product from The Ordinary that I have tried to date.
Being a huge believer in weekly exfoliation I also alternate with several other
exfoliators, so I don't rely just on this one product.
 I have a variety that I switch between depending on how me and my skin are feeling
at the time, I call it my "Exfoliator Wardrobe" and I highly recommend
everyone to have
one...

NB. Prices may have changed since my original review

~~~~~~
The Ordinary has been "The" Skincare brand of 2017 and has Internationally
 received mixed reviews on performance, but on price no one has complained.
To find out more about the origins of this purse friendly brand
then read my haul post below to bring
yourself up to speed with this "newbie" on the block.
(However I do still have two products to review)
Being a huge fan of exfoliators, peels etc.
the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution from The Ordinary
was top of my beauty shopping list on my recent trip to the UK.
My "Rule of thumb" has been to exfoliate once a week and after 40 years,
 this rule has served me well. Having always used a mechanical type peel I was
keen to try a chemical one, but have always been a little unsure as to which
brand and product to opt for.
 Having heard such good reports on this particular product from this no frills,
 affordable skincare range
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
seemed a logical, cost effective choice.
This viscous Ox blood coloured product comes with a pipette dropper
and yes it stays that colour once applied to the skin, so be prepared
and pre warned
as this isn't a mask you answer the front door in.
Despite its strange appearance, let me explain what it contains and what
you can expect from this concoction of alarming named ingredients
Ingredients:
30% Alpha Hydroxyl Acids (Glycolic/Lactic/Tartaric/Citric)
Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA) exfoliate the skin's topmost surface for a
brighter and more even appearance.
2% Beta Hydroxyl Acid (Salicylic Acid)
Beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function
 to help clear pore congestion.
These two combined give you a total of a 32% AHA/BHA solution,
which offers a deeper exfoliation to help fight visible blemishes
and for improved skin radiance.
The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture and reduces the
look of fine lines with continued use.
Hyaluronic Acid Crosspolymer
gives comfort to the skin
Black Carrot
is an Antixidant
Tasmanian Pepperberry
The Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative helps to reduce irritation
associated with acid use and (due to its plant origin) is what gives the product
it blood red colour, which by the way does change slightly according to
the season of harvest.
Vitamin B5
Helps with the healing
It's comforting to know that whilst all of the above work their magic on the skin
that a pH of 3.6 is maintained allowing the acids to perform at their optimum
whilst reducing irritation, which can be a problem for many users of AHA's
and BHA's.
Before I explain how to use and give you my thoughts and opinions on this product
The Ordinary do issue this note/warning
This formula contains a very high concentration of free acids.
We recommend use only if you are an experienced user of acid exfoliation
and your skin is not sensitive.
Contraindications:
This formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin.
Sunburn Alert:
This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity
 to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn.
Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while
using this product.
I must make mention here that I do not have a sensitive skin.
This was my first use of an acid peel and despite having a beauty therapy
background, I did approach the use of this product with caution.
Directions:
Use ideally in the evening no more than twice a week
(I kept to my rule of thumb of once a week)
 This product is applied to a clean face and do not use on wet skin.
This low-viscosity solution is intended to be used as a masque.
Apply evenly across face and neck using your fingertips.
Leave on for no more than 10 minutes.
(I initially left on my skin for 5 minutes and then slowly increased
to 10 minutes, once I was assured that my skin felt comfortable.
As the 10 minutes approaches I can feel my skin comfortably tingle, but do
not be tempted to leave on for longer than 10 minutes)
Rinse with lukewarm water.
 Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes both during application and rinse off.
For me this product didn't WOW me straight away, due to the fact that I was
"treading" carefully for several applications.
I was experimenting with both the timings and thickness of application
and once I had my own personal "settings" for this mask I really
enjoyed using and, best of all, the results it gave.
My skin feels even smoother and looks more radiant
and this type of chemical peel has elevated my weekly exfoliation routine to
the next level
and I now find myself alternating between my usual exfoliators/scrubs
and this peeling solution and my skin is loving me for it.
It really is a 10 minute facial.
CAUDALIE GLYCOLIC PEEL MASK {REVIEW}
 I have used an exfoliator/scrub/polisher/peel whatever you like to call it,
religiously for the past 40 years.
 (Yes 40 years and that's longer than many of you reading this have been around.)
I was first introduced to the importance of this process of manually or chemically removing that surface layer of those drying, dulling dead cells early on in my beauty therapy training. It's a vital part of a good skincare regime and I just wished more people understood that.
It's one product that will instantly smooth and brighten the skin, whilst activating skin cell renewal and allowing for better penetration of any products that follow and all without too much effort.
My first "proper" exfoliator was the Clarins Doux Peel that I started to use weekly way back when I was working part time in salon whilst also at training college and it's still a product I alternate with today.
(However I have just realised that I've never written a review about the Clarins Doux Peel in all my nearly 7 years of blogging, so I will have to rectify that very soon)
As you can imagine I have tried so many exfoliators in my time and I'm always on the look out for new ones to trial.
Depending on the type of exfoliator and brand determines whether I use once or twice a week, but rule of thumb is to aim for once a week and you will be amazed at what a difference this one addition will make to your "Skincare Journey".
As I'm on a roll with Caudalie at the moment I had to include my thoughts and opinions
on their Gyclolic Peel.
I've included this peel in my current skincare regime 2 times a week for the past month as per recommendation.
Apply this facial mask twice a week to dry skin, avoiding the eye contour area.Leave on for 10 minutes then rinse with water.
Can be used on all skin types
This non-drying, creamy mask delivers a 10-minute instant home facial, that gentle buffs away dull, dead skin cells and brightens dark spots to reveal a brighter, smooth complexion. Natural, time-release glycolic—an alpha-hydroxyl acid (AHA)—gently exfoliates dead skin cells,revealing a softer, smoother skin.
 Viniferine® is a secret brightening ingredient that is clinically proven to lighten dark spots 62 times more than Vitamin C. The formula is enriched with papaya enzymes to invigorate and illuminate. Together, these powerful ingredients support natural cell turnover and collagen production.
 Formulated with 85.7% natural origin ingredients, this quite luxurious, non-irritating and gentle mask was perhaps a little too gentle for me, however that being said I did find my skin, post use, to be significantly brighter, smoother and softer, but I find that with most good exfoliators, so it didn't do anything for my skin that was exceptional.
Overall I do like this mask and I'm enjoying using it, but I doubt that I will re-purchase in the future, as with time I've progressed onto more active peels etc.that I can do at home, but that being said I highly recommend this  gentle product as an intro to exfoliating products.
If you don't currently include an exfoliating type product in your regime then now it the time to start doing so...
as 10 minutes can make such a difference.
Dermatologically and ophtalmologically tested.
As with all Caudalie products it contains no parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, mineral oils or animal-derived ingredients are used.
