LA ROCHE-POSAY MICELLAR WATER {REVIEW}

Over the past couple of years and much to my surprise, Micellar Waters have 

become an important part of my beauty regime .

 I previously relied on them mainly for travel, as they provide a quick and practical solution for 

removing face and eye make-up on the go. 

I also turn to a Micellar Water on those "full make-up" days, as part of a 

double cleanse, however my favourite way to use a Micellar Water is in the morning. 

I find a quick wipe around the face with a soaked cotton pad cleanses my skin

 and preps it for my morning skincare routine.

As you can see Micellar Waters are so versatile hence their rise in popularity

 over the past few years.

 Most skincare ranges now include a Micellar water in their product line-up 

and over the last couple of years 

I have tried and tested several of varying prices.

each one and for those that suffer from a fragile, sensitive or intolerant skin,

Micellar Water of choice for the past few weeks.

It's the perfect product for people in a hurry.

The gentle non scented water formulation is suitable for all skin types,

 as it respects the skin’s physiological & pH balance.

Key ingredients are Citric Acid to gently cleanse and exfoliate and of course the

soothing LA ROCHE-POSAY Thermal Spring Water.

This product contains no

I found this product slotted perfectly into my morning regime as my 

cleansing water

and I'll be sorry when it finishes, as it will be time to move on and review another

Micellar Water from another brand.

LA ROCHE-POSAY TOLERIANE ULTRA {REVIEW}

As you may or may not know I normally test out skincare products for

a minimum of 3 months or until the product has completely finished, 

before writing my review.

This product is the exception to that rule, as I could literally feel from the

first couple of applications that this product was going to be a hit 

with me and my skin.

The French skincare brand  LA ROCHE-POSAY is without doubt one of

my recommendations if you have a sensitive intolerant skin,

whether it be a permanent or just a temporary condition.
The TOLERIANE range of products is targeted for the most intolerant
 and very sensitive of skins and brings immediate comfort and relief.

I have been trying out several of their products recently and here are

 my reviews so far...

Whilst I don't have a sensitive skin there are occasions when my skin 

just needs a break from my usual more active anti-ageing products .
Sometimes we get so focused (I know I do) with firming,

brightening,lifting and keeping the lines at bay, but

after 40 years of being in the business of beauty and knowing my skin 

I elect several times a year to just give my skin a break for a week or so 

and give it a "Skincare Holiday".

I basically swop out my day and night cream for one dual purpose product 

that is stripped back of all fragrance, active ingredients and just focus's on

 soothing,calming,balancing and strengthening the skin.

My past product of choice has been for several years now
 the Shea Face Soothing Fluid from L'Occitane 
and interestingly the TOLERIANE ULTRA also contains the wonderful benefits of 
Shea Butter.

 is an intense soothing cream for face and eyes and after a couple of weeks of 
use it has firmly secured a spot in my skincare arsenal.

Its rich smooth formula contains soothing and calming ingredients to help

de-sensitise the skin whilst intensely hydrating and providing all day comfort

to my skin.

This product can also be used around the eye contour and applied both

day and night, which makes this a perfect all over product for my

 "Skincare Holiday".

What I also enjoy about this product is the fact that the purity of its

contents is always ensured with the airless safe packaging technology,

especially useful as I only use periodically throughout the year.

LA ROCHE-POSAY THERMAL SPRING WATER {REVIEW}

Facial waters are nothing new and have been around for many years, but in recent times they have become more accessible here in South Africa with the arrival of several european skincare brands whose product range is formulated around its core ingredient 

of thermal healing waters. 

We are far more likely nowadays to include a facial water in our daily beauty regimes than ever before.

I have tried several and I have my firm favourites, but I only recently put the test the

LA ROCHE-POSAY Thermal Spring Water

Sourced in La Roche-Posay, France, this thermal spring water is naturally rich in minerals.
It calms and treats sensitive, irritated or inflamed skin but can also be used to cool and refresh all skin types.

I personally keep a water spray in my fridge throughout summer and you will always find a mini size in my bag during my travels.

It can also be used to set make-up and its safe enough to use on babies.

 Men also found it to have an instant calming effect post-shaving.

Whilst claiming to have a fine mist of micro droplets, I found the spray not to be as fine, as other facial water sprays that I have experienced.

I have my 3 favourite facial water sprays and sadly whilst I enjoyed this one from LRP it didn't have any stand out features that set it apart from any of the others.

Facial waters can be used in so many ways and several years ago I would have said that this type of product was a "nice to have" whereas now I consider it a "must have"
product in your beauty line-up.

I have reviewed several LA ROCHE-POSAY products most of which I highly recommend
for a sensitive or intolerant skin and as I always say, you don't have to suffer from a sensitive skin to use any products formulated for sensitive skins.

LA ROCHE-POSAY CICAPLAST BARRIER REPAIRING LIP BALM {REVIEW}

The chances are that if you've already heard of the French skincare brand

LA ROCHE-POSAY

 it could be due to this one product that has now become somewhat of an

iconic, cult product in the world of chapped lips .

The Cicaplast collection of products have been formulated to soothe, 

repair and protect skin from infection. Ideal for dry, chapped or irritated skin and is suitable for use on 

rashes, grazes, eczema-lesions, dry patches and on post-procedural wounds and I was excited to try

lesions, dry patches and n st-procedural wounds.

How I wished this product was available in South Africa a few years ago in my

cycling and running days, as chapped lips were the bane of my life.

The constant sun and wind exposure would result in me licking my dry lips, 

which in turn would lead to my lips drying out even more and this vicious

cycle of lick,dry,lick,dry would repeat its self over and over until 

my lips would be so red and chapped they would crack and bleed.

Despite all my lip balm and sunscreen efforts nothing seemed to ease or remedy my problem. 

The problem did eventually go away as my cycling and running days ended and since 

then I only suffer with dry lips in cold climates or during flights.

I recently put it to the test when I flew to Johannesburg, which is considerably 

colder than Durban and immediately I felt my lips becoming more dry.

The clear balm provides a protective and repairing barrier to nourish and soothe

the delicate lips and the skin around the lip area in order to prevent further chapping.

This fragrance free, paraben free lip balm contains amongst other

 lubricating and repairing ingredients

 5% Panthenol (Provitamin of B5) 

Shea Butter (one of my favourite nourishing ingredients) 

and 

Thermal Water

The non greasy balm soon provided comfort and with regular application throughout

my flight and stay I had non

of my usual tell tale signs that dry and chapped lips were on their way.

The selection of mediocre or good lip balms on the market are endless, 

but "Great" ones are more difficult to come by and I have to agree

this product is deserving of the praise, as it's one of those 

"Great" 

Products.

This is a for sure a "must have" in every household, as it's a lip saver for

the whole family including children above 3 years of age.

If you love French skincare and have a sensitive skin, then

If not here's the low down...

are pleasant to use.

Their skin care products are developed following their own strict formulation charter,

I've been aware of the brand for sometime as it occupies space in many French pharmacies 
alongside other well known pharmacy brands like:

Having recently launched in South Africa I popped along to Dischem to

 buy just one product, their Eye Make-Up Remover for sensitive eyes, 

but as often happens I walked out with more than one, in fact it was three. 

The reviews on those products will be coming over the next few weeks 

only once I've tried and tested them fully for you...

Where possible I opt for specialised eye make-up removers,

preferably for sensitive eyes, as it does tend to be the one area that 

flares up and having recently used an eye product that didn't agree with me,

 I was hopeful that this product would be soothing and gentle on the irritated 

and sensitised skin around my eyes.

Formulated to gently and effectively remove eye make-up, whilst also 

respecting the skins pH.It contains non of the usual irritants like alcohol, 

soaps, colourants and parabans.

I like the simplicity and the easy to use flip lid plastic bottle.

(my pet peeve,the size of the hole is small and doesn't let the contents gush

 out like so many liquid nozzles do).

I personally found this non fragranced product to be both soothing and comforting,

 especially as my skin was still feeling slightly irritated. 

Having continued to use the product post reaction I found it removed my 

eye make-up gently, but I'm not sure how it would fare with heavy eye make-up,

 but true sensitive skins generally tend to avoid heavy eye make-up anyway.

I can happily say that this product has now found a permanent place in

 my beauty regime and I'm happy it has a deserving place...

Toleriane - Ultra Intense Soothing Cream

I have never classed my skin as sensitive, but that doesn't mean that I can't 

use products especially formulated for sensitive,fragile or intolerant skins. 

There are phases when my skin enjoys a few days or nights of a more simple,

stripped back,no frills, calming, non active skincare regime and I thought 

this Ultra Intense Soothing Cream would be perfect for those times.

P.S. Since writing this post MY skin, that never reacts to anything

 has had a reaction to a Skin Tint product

that was part of my UK haul (The UK haul post will be up on Sunday)

So I have high hopes that this soothing cream will settle and calm 

my skin.

One of my favourite tinted sun products in the past, has been the

PhotodermMAX 50+ Tinted Ultra Fluid from Bioderma,which they

have since  discontinued and their PR kindly sent me its replacement to try,

 so I will no doubt end up comparing the two.

As always I will be reporting back to you ,as to whether any of the above

are worth buying.

MY TOP 3 LIP BALMS #TBT POST {MAY 2019}

I thought this would be a perfect time of the year to throw back to this blogpost that

 I wrote back in May 2019.

Many of us are suffering with dry lips right now due to the cold spell we are having

and below are 3 Lip Balms that I highly recommend and in most cases have re-purchased

several times already.

I will at some point update this list to include 5 Lip Balms,however you can be assured 

that these 3 will still appear on that list.

I'm never without a lip balm close at hand whether it be in my handbag, in my car,

on my bedside table or on my dressing table... I'm sure you get the picture 

I do love a good lip balm.

I have tried so so many, but I thought I would write this post to let you know which are my

 top 3 and are well worth a spend, they also happen to all be from French brands.

I could have easily made this into a Top 5, but I wanted to just focus on my 3 all time faves

If you are needing some serious LIP repairing and protecting then just go straight in for this Lip Balm from the French brand that I recommend so ofter - LA ROCHE-POSAY.

It's a "must have" if you suffer from severe dry lips whether it be from extreme cold weather or you have an intolerance to fragrance in lip balms, this product literally 

 covers most issues and is well worth a spend.

This Lip Conditioner from the French brand Caudalie is a more recent discovery of mine

and offers the ease of a lipstick type lip balm, that's super easy to whip out 

and apply as often as needed.

It glides easily across the lips and contains a delicate vanilla scent and with its 

anti- oxidant properties it delivers nutrition and protection all day long.

If I had to give you my absolute best lip balm ever it would be this pot of lip magic

from the French brand NUXE.

Not only is it a multi award winning product,

this best-selling lip balm with Honey and precious oils is highly concentrated in ingredients that nourish, repair, soothe and protect even the driest and most damaged lips  and this deceivingly small pot seems to go on forever, so much so, that I think the packaging may have changed.
