CAUDALIE GRAPE WATER #TBT REVIEW

 The first product that ever I used from the French skincare brand
CAUDALIE
was back in mid 2018 and it was their iconic Grape Water Spray
and how things have changed since
then, as CAUDALIE has become one of my top French skincare
brands and I have now used over a dozen or more of their products
and I don't think I have written anything negative about their products.
If you would like to catch upon those reviews then
Since writing this original review I have written an interesting post about
my Top 3 Facial Water Sprays and how they all serve a different purpose
in my beauty routine.

For those of us that love a glass of vino then this brand could be
of great interest to you.
CAUDALIE has been on my beauty radar for several years and I regret not
buying some of their beauty products on my last trip to France.
(Interesting fact me sister lives just 2 hours away from Bordeaux,
so it's definitely on my bucket list to visit the
CAUDALIE Vinothérapie Spa outside of Bordeaux)

I have a slight obsession with a good facial water spray and I include them daily
 in my beauty routine, in fact I merrily spritz away several times a day.
I have a wardrobe of four facial water sprays and even though, on the surface,
they may appear to perform the same function, for me they each have their
own specific strengths,who knew that facial water sprays could vary so much!
 (perhaps this will be a blogpost for another day)
Previous Facial Water Spray Reviews

 I recently added the CAUDALIE Grape Water Spray to my collection and what
better product from CAUDALIEt o review first.

Before I get to my review here is some background to the brand:

Founded by Mathilde Thomas and her husband Bertrand. The story starts in Bordeaux (France), at the heart of the vineyards on the family estate. The vine and grapes possess exceptional powers for the skin - powers which were simply waiting to be developed. 'Do you know that you are throwing away treasures?" This sentence changed Mathilde's life. It marks the meeting with Professor Vercauteren. He is one of the world's specialists in Polyphenols and has been the scientific advisor of the research centre since the creation of Caudalie. Ever since the brand was created, products were created with the maximum amount of natural ingredients that respect the environment. In 2006, Mathilde took the decision to remove parabens from all their products.
One of my fascinations with this brand stems from its intriguing name
and its beautiful meaning.

A caudalie [kodali]
is a unit measuring the duration of the wine's flavour on the palate.
For each second the flavour remains this is a caudalie.
A quality wine will contain many caudalie's.

The Grape Water Spray itself is made from 100% organic ingredients,
this gentle plant-based mist, extracted from grapes, works to sooth, refresh and moisturise the skin anytime, anywhere, whilst also reducing sensitivity.

It all starts with the picking of fresh grapes during the very first days of the harvest.
 The harvested grapes are then pressed and distilled using a low-pressure process.
This exclusive Caudalie process makes it possible to isolate water from the
grape juice by evaporation.
 This exceptional water is combined with a very small dose of pure
organic red grape juice to achieve the perfect formula:
Caudalie organic grape water.

This organic grape water spray has slotted perfectly into my facial water spray
wardrobe and currently I seem to reach for the Caudalie more than the others.
It has all of those wonderful refreshing, calming and hydrating benefits that we
expect from any good facial water spray, but the Caudalie seems
to have more of a moisturising element, thanks to the
"power of the Vine"

Will there be a re-purchase?
For sure along with some other interesting products.

EAU THERMALE AVÈNE THERMAL SPRING WATER {REVIEW} #TBT

I have lost count, as to how many of these Avène Thermal Spring Water sprays
I have used over the past 4-5 years.
Its been a constant in my beauty regime and I really can't see it ever not being.
They now have a selection of sizes available from a perfect 50ml handbag size
up to the giant 400ml option and I have them all.

Avène is perhaps my most recommended French skincare brand, whenever you guys
send me a DM or e.mail asking me for advice on skincare products.
If you would like to read more reviews on Avène products then Click Here

Since originally writing this review back in 2016 we do have a far wider selection
of similar products available in South Africa and I recently wrote a blogpost
on my Top 3 Facial Waters

~~~~~~
This seems to be the perfect time of the year to tell you how much I am loving the
Thermal Spring Water Spray from the French brand Avène
This French face,body and suncare brand is a familiar sight on the shelves of pharmacies in France and Europe,
 but relatively new to us here in South Africa, as it was only launched, in the early part of 2015,exclusively to Clicks
(Since 2016 available at selected Dischems countrywide)
This lovely video introduces you to the Avène story.
The star product in the Eau Thermale Avène range is the
Eau Thermale Avène Thermal Spring Water and I believe one is sold every
10 seconds, which just goes to prove how loved this product is around the world.
Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray 150mls R169.95
Natural Spring Water sprays for use on the skin are by no means a new discovery and overseas you will find a larger selection available, unlike South Africa, which actually amazes me as this type of product suits our climate and lifestyle perfectly.
Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray is particularly recommended for sensitive, hypersensitive, intolerent,
allergic or irritated skin.
It not only hydrates, soothes and comforts the skin, but it cools and refreshes, especially if you keep the spray in the fridge. Great to calm the skin and reduce redness and it can be a great asset for use after facial surgery, shaving, waxing, sunburn and can even be safely used on nappy rash.
My spray has been reached for on so many occassions during the holidays, as I just love to spritz my face during the hot days and this anti-irritating product won't interfere with my SPF or disturb my make-up. I have even got into the habit of doing a quick spritz post make-up.
Many years ago when I was training to be a beauty therapist in the UK we were encouraged to have weekend jobs in salons. I worked for a couple of years in a busy salon that also had a sunbed.
In the beginning my job was to clean down the sunbed, straighten the cubicle and explain to the clients the do's and don'ts and set the timer for their session to begin.
One nice touch that was available in the cubicle was a very large pink can of Evian Water Facial Spray and a bottle of Clarins "Corps Soyeux" (as it was called in those days) and I would encourage clients to spray the Evian, if they felt hot and to use the body lotion after their sunbed session,
Oh my how things have changed.
This was my first introduction to Clarins and Evian and my first chance to sell...and guess what I was really good at it, selling the smaller Evians' for handbag and home use and the Clarins Body Lotion for maintaining that tan, it was for me an easy "add on" to the clients sunbed course, as they were both wonderful beneficial products.
Evian is just one of the many brands of natural facial water sprays available overseas and as you can see even 30 years ago these types of facial sprays formed part of a good skincare routine for many in the UK and Europe, but unfortunately not here in South Africa hence the limited selection available.
 For many years, even after moving to South Africa I continued to use the French Evian Spray, which was available in South Africa and then sadly it disappeared off the market, so personally I'm very happy to have discovered the
Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray!
I will also be reviewing three more Avène skincare products in the near future.
MY TOP 3 FACIAL WATERS {JULY 2019}
Facial water sprays, whether they're sourced from deep within Volcanic mountains, Thermal Springs or from the skin of a grape, I love them all.They've been around for decades, so they're nothing new. Once seen as a "nice to have" kind of product, they're now seen as a "must have" inclusion in your beauty regime and I've included one in mine for routine for years.
These handy cans of natural, soothing water can be used to tone,refresh, hydrate, cool and even help to set make-up. They can be spritzed on the most sensitive of skins and can be used by the whole family.
Most of the brands below offer a variety of sizes ranging from 50ml to 400ml and the travel sizes are great for the hand or gym bag.
Having put so many to the test, in my opinion, the French do produce the best, here are my Top 3 and whilst there are several others, I was truly unable to find any bad ones,
I have kept my list to strictly three only. They all do basically the same thing and I have chosen these particular three as they each offer something slightly more specific depending on my needs.
I have also added the Pink Links below so you can read my full reviews on each
facial water spray.
(prices and stockist info may have changed since my original reviews were posted)
1.
AVÉNE
Thermal Spring Water
This is no.1 on my list for a very good reason and whilst it does all that it's suppose to do in terms of hydrating, refreshing and cooling the skin, the AVÉNE Thermal Water comes out tops when you are looking to soothe and calm a sensitive or intolerant skin and it does so instantly.
I cannot tell you how many large cans of the Avéne Thermal Water I have gone through and I will continue to, until I find a product that can out perform this one.
2.
VICHY
Thermal Mineralising Water
Vichy thermal Mineralizing Water, born in the French volcanoes and charged with 15 rare minerals is proven to strengthen skin against aggressions such as UV, pollution and stress. Vichy thermal Mineralizing Water is at the base of all Vichy formulations.
This is my favourite one to both keep in the fridge and travel with, as I find the spray to be slightly more forceful than the others and its so refreshing on those hot travel days.
3.
CAUDALIE
Grape Water
Caudalie is my new found French skincare brand and I'm so enjoying the history and ethos and of course their wonderful products.
To read more Caudalie Reviews
As the name suggests this water is made from grapes and is 100% natural and organic.
If you are looking for a water spray that focuses more on moisturisation, then Caudalie is the one for you.It does leave a soft layer of moisture behind on the skin, once the water has dried down, which you don't experience with the other waters that I have used.
LA ROCHE-POSAY THERMAL SPRING WATER {REVIEW}
Facial waters are nothing new and have been around for many years, but in recent times they have become more accessible here in South Africa with the arrival of several european skincare brands whose product range is formulated around its core ingredient
of thermal healing waters.
We are far more likely nowadays to include a facial water in our daily beauty regimes than ever before.
I have tried several and I have my firm favourites, but I only recently put the test the
LA ROCHE-POSAY Thermal Spring Water
Sourced in La Roche-Posay, France, this thermal spring water is naturally rich in minerals.
It calms and treats sensitive, irritated or inflamed skin but can also be used to cool and refresh all skin types.
I personally keep a water spray in my fridge throughout summer and you will always find a mini size in my bag during my travels.
It can also be used to set make-up and its safe enough to use on babies.
 Men also found it to have an instant calming effect post-shaving.
Whilst claiming to have a fine mist of micro droplets, I found the spray not to be as fine, as other facial water sprays that I have experienced.
I have my 3 favourite facial water sprays and sadly whilst I enjoyed this one from LRP it didn't have any stand out features that set it apart from any of the others.
(I will be writing a post very soon, My Top 3 Facial Waters, so watch out for that if you're interested to know which ones I highly recommend and why.)
Facial waters can be used in so many ways and several years ago I would have said that this type of product was a "nice to have" whereas now I consider it a "must have"
product in your beauty line-up.
I have reviewed several LA ROCHE-POSAY products most of which I highly recommend
for a sensitive or intolerant skin and as I always say, you don't have to suffer from a sensitive skin to use any products formulated for sensitive skins.
