RECENT BEAUTY EMPTIES {OCTOBER 2020}

Even though I say it myself I am getting better at saving my
empty products so I can show you which I liked and have finished and those
that I would re-purchase.

L-R

1.

CAUDALIE
 Instant Foaming Cleanser

The Instant Foaming Cleanser has been a permanent fixture in my
shower now for over a year and I have yet to buy this product.
I received 3 x 50mls sizes in various free gifts and these handy travel sizes
have kept me going, until now.
As many of my readers will already know,I've learned to enjoy
foam/oil cleansers far more over the last 2-3 years, as I've always been
cleansing milk/lotion lover.
Even though I don't use it daily I do use it regularly for ease, to cleanse my
skin whilst I'm in the shower.
I have written a full review if you would like to know more about this
foaming cleansing product Click Here

2.

ELEMIS
revitalise-me
Hand & Body Wash

I was gifted this ELEMIS product by a friend back in 2019, yet I only started
using at the beginning of this year and I've so enjoyed using it.
I have not actually written a review on this product, so here's a
mini review.
I'm a huge fan of quality Hand Washes, hence the reason I was bought
it as a gift and it didn't disappoint.
I used mine as a hand wash and didn't try it as a body wash and it promises
to cleanse, revive and uplift the skin.

Powerful essential oils of Thyme, Basil and Neroli are conditioning and gentle
on the skin and also make this product smell very "Spa" like, which
was heavenly every time I washed my hands.
I find the better quality the hand wash is, the longer it lasts, as you only
need to use a small amount.
I don't think this particular ELEMIS product is available in South Africa
and mine was bought in the UK and it retails for £28.00 for 300 mls
and I'm very sorry to see this luxury hand wash finish.

3.

BATH & BODY WORKS
WHITE BARN
LAVENDER VANILLA
CANDLE

Again I think this is a product that I have never reviewed before here on
Beauty Shout Box. Bath and Body Works is a brand that we don't have
in South Africa or in the UK, however Dubai has several stores
and even a concession now at Dubai Airport, so as you can imagine a visit
is always a must when either stopping off or passing through the airport.
My regular purchases are the PocketBac, candles and liquid hand washes
and seeing I was last there in February I have a nice little stash to
keep me going for a while.
White Barn is a sister brand to Bath & Body Works and have the most
divine selection of affordable fragranced candles.(even in Rands)
Not only do they give a good
amount of fragrance during burning, but they also burn down
evenly and well. They're also one of the few candles that actually burn
down. to the bottom of the container.
I would highly recommend buying if you ever get the chance.

4.

LABELLO
Crayon Lip Balm

This was one of two purchases during our strict lockdown and I'm
afraid that will be how I remember this product, that being said I
do love the LABELLO crayons and have two of their 3 shades.
They're so easy to carry around and apply. The colour payoff is
good and a re-purchase of the shade in the photo is on the cards.
My only complaint with this product, would be their poor shade selection
and would love to see more shades on offer.

5.

SIMPLE
WATER BOOST
Micellar Cleansing Water

This was also a purchase from Dubai back in February, and whilst
we do have a small range of SIMPLE products here in South Africa I
don't think we yet have the Water boost range.
As a cheap and cheerful Micellar Water I enjoyed and would re-purchase
and if you would like to read more in my full review click here

6.

GATINEAU
FLORACIL
Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

This was somewhat of a trip down memory lane with this eye make-up
remover and a good one at that.
I loved the product way back then and its still as good as I remember it,
so a re-purchase is definitely on the "Beauty Cards".

I have written several product reviews on the brands featured above and

RECENT EMPTIES {JULY 2020}

After 6 years or so of blogging I've finally found my groove when it comes to writing
a post about my recent beauty empties.
I'm more disciplined when it comes to keeping the empty containers to let you guys
know which products I have completely finished, enjoyed or in some cases not
 enjoyed enough to re-purchase.
I have 3 empties this month and they revolve a little around the COVID 19.
Click on the Pink Links below to read my original reviews.

1.

RITUALS
RITUAL OF AYURVEDA
SOOTHING HAND BALM

During lockdown I have been able to finish up several partially used
hand creams that I had lying around in drawers and handbags, many of which
I was just happy to finish and not waste, but this one from RITUALS is my absolute favourite hand cream of all time in terms of formula and fragrance.
I'm so sad to see this one come to an end and its already been added to my overseas
shopping list (whenever travel happens again).
FYI I will be cutting this tube open very soon to scrape out at least a couple more
applications.

I did write a post about my Hand Cream recommendations back in March
and I cover all price ranges, so head over to find out which ones make the list.

2.

BATH & BODY WORKS
POCKETBAC
ANTI-BACTERIAL HAND GEL

Another product that I have been using plenty of during lockdown is hand sanitiser.
The BATH & BODY WORKS POCKETBAC is perfect to carry around in your
pocket or bag. They're available in so many great fragrances, non drying
and thankfully I stocked up back in February.
I have finished a couple more, but only managed to retain one for the photo.
I highly recommend these if you can get your hands on them.

3.

ELEMIS
PRO-COLLAGEN
MARINE CREAM

I was dreading the day that this product finished and again I was sad to scrape out
the last few drops of this moisturiser.
My overall opinion on this highly acclaimed moisturiser... it's a good one
Was I seriously impressed? Yes I was
and I would highly recommend for both men and women who are looking
for an effective, fast absorbing, daily anti-ageing moisturiser that you apply
and literally forget about...
In terms of value for money this product goes a long way which, when justifying
the initial purchase price,is something to bear in mind.

3 June 2020

RECENT EMPTIES {JUNE 2020}

Three products that I've thoroughly enjoyed over the recent months
have all sadly come to an end.

1.

Margaret Dabbs
Nail & Cuticle Serum

This excellent nail and cuticle serum was a gift from my long time friend
back in the UK, as she wanted me to experience the wonders of this "magic pen".
I included this product in a QPR (Quickie Product Review) post some months ago
and I'm sorry that its now on the verge of being cut open to
scrape out every last bit...

2.

The White Company
Diffuser
Lime & Bay

This was another gift that I received at Christmas and I've never written a review
about it, not even in a QPR post, so this is now becoming a mini review.
The White Company are UK based and have been around for over 25 years.

Chrissie Rucker had a vision: to create a company that specialised in stylish, white homewares, combining the highest quality with affordable prices.
She envisioned creating a seamless shopping experience across every channel, from beautiful stores to online.

Thankfully the "White Homewares" include quality candles and home fragrance
and I was happy to receive the Lime & Bay Diffuser from a vast array of fragrances
The White Company have on offer.

Lime & Basil is an exotic mix of mandarin, pink grapefruit, bergamot, orange,
lime, lemon, Jasmine buds, lime blossom, ginger and crushed bay leaves, so if you
enjoy a citrus type of fragrance then Lime & Basil would be a good choice.

This lovely scent diffuser is a subtle way to softly fragrance a room and
I located mine in my bedroom and as far as diffusers go, it was very good in terms
of diffusing the scent into the air and the longevity of the liquid.
I found that the liquid lasted approximately 4-5 months despite TWC saying
3 months and it's one to go onto my UK Shopping List for the future.

The White Company
Lime & Basil
Diffuser
£27.00
150mls

3.

Bath & Body Works
Creamy Luxe
Hand Wash

I did a mini review on the Bath & Body Works Creamy Luxe Hand Wash
last year and luckily I have several as back-up stock.
These liquid hand washes are beautifully rich, creamy and having an endless
variety of fragrances to chose from they all smell divine.
As hand washes go, this scores very highly with me.

8 October 2019

QUICKIE PRODUCT REVIEWS {QPR'S} OCTOBER 2019

Todays products have scored an 8, 9 and 10 and it's not very
often I score a 10 in my QPR'S, but product is so deserving of its score.
I've put to the test a hand sanitiser, body polisher (which makes a great hand scrub)
and a nail and cuticle serum, so its rather a "hand focused" QPR this month.

1.

Brand : mineraline
Product : Exfoliate Shea Butter Body Polisher
Price : R99.95
Size : 150mls

I love a good body scrub and this one from mineraline will
revitalize, soothe and nourish your skin with Dead Sea therapeutic minerals.
It's a rich formula that easily exfoliates your skin, removing dead skin cells and other impurities. Containing ingredients like Shea Butter, Sweet Almond, Olive, Jojoba, and Avocado Oils it also provides deep hydration.
Can be used 2-3 x a week on the body and it makes a great weekly hand scrub.
As always mineraline offers great value for money and is available at all Dischem's

Verdict :  8/10

2.

Brand : Margaret Dabbs
Product : Nourishing Nail & Cuticle Serum Pen
Price : £12
Size : 15ml

Not a brand we have in SA and I was kindly sent this product by my BFF, as she
loves it so much, that she wanted me to try it.

Margaret Dabbs is passionate about hands and feet. She is the celebrated podiatrist and foot expert who founded her first foot clinic in London in 1998 in private consulting rooms in the Harley Street area of Central London. She went on to create the Margaret Dabbs London brand to include foot clinics with nails spas across the UK and internationally, introducing teams of both qualified podiatrists and professional beauticians to perform her unique treatments.
The key super ingredient, around which the Margaret Dabbs London products are based,is Australian Emu Oil. Renowned for its incredible healing properties, and aboriginal in origin, Emu Oil has been used medicinally for thousands of years.
The precise pen applicator makes this product incredibly easy to apply and not only is the serum lightweight, but its fast absorbing and leaves no greasy residue behind, which I have found with so many cuticle products. The cuticles are left feeling incredibly soft, like nothing I've ever experienced before.
The serum protects, hydrates and strengthens the nails, whilst rejuvenating dry damaged, splitting and flakey nails, it really is a "Magic Pen" for nails.
Apply a thin layer to cover the fingernail and cuticle area. You can apply this serum as many times as you wish through the day and see really speedy results.
Verdict :  9 /10

3.

Brand : Bath & Body Works
Product : Pocketbac Hand Sanitiser
Lavender
Price : Currently AED 5 (approx R20)
Size : 29ml

Sadly we don't have the USA brand Bath & Body Works here in SA and that's a huge
pity, as they are the largest Bath Shop chain in the US.
(Good news for South Africans travelling through Dubai, I recently saw that they
are busy constructing a B&BW outlet in Dubai Airport)

Be prepared, when walking into one of their stores, to have all of your senses
overloaded at once, as the floor to ceiling shelves are crammed with what seems
like an endless assortment of home fragrance, body and bath products and
I just love it...

My first encounter was in Dubai last year and again just recently and that's where I
picked up their infamous PocketBac Hand Sanitisers.
The selection of fragrances on offer is endless, making it difficult to choose,
so I opted for a trusted French Lavender and 4 others.
I can also highly recommend their hand washes and candles, in fact I can recommend
everything, as it's just one of those stores that you can't help falling in love with.

This skin-softening formula kills 99.9% of most common germs,
while the pocket-friendly design makes it easy to keep hands clean & conditioned
when you're on-the-go.

Verdict :  10 /10
