RECENT EMPTIES {SEPTEMBER 2022}

My last Recent Empties post was a little over a month ago and here
is another, as several of the products that I have been using have all
come to an end at the same time.
As you can see from the photo below I have gone through another
regular that often appears on my Recent Empties post
and the other 3 products are all making their 1st time appearance.

1.
ELGYDIUM
PLAQUE & GUMS
TOOTHPASTE

This toothpaste was a real throwback for me, as I used to work for
ELGYDIUM way back in the day and it was a great toothpaste
back then and it still is today.
Whilst this French toothpaste brand doesn't fall into the
"budget" category at R64.99 a pop, it does help to look for
 the 3 for 2 promotions.
I was kindly gifted this along with another variant.
With chlorhexidine and calcium carbonate, ELGYDIUM Anti-plaque
toothpaste effectively prevents the build-up of dental plaque every day.
It also helps protect against tartar and gum irritation.
Not the easiest of products to review but I have been enjoying both
and I am looking to try their Whitening variant next.

2.
URIAGE
WATERPROOF
EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER

Some months ago I was needing an eye make-up remover and I
opted for the URIAGE Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover, not that I
wear very much waterproof eye make-up, but it's a bi-phase formula,
which I generally enjoy.
This product can also be used to remove lipstick and cleanse the lips.
Whilst it does remove eye make-up and mascara
quickly and super easily it does leave behind a film of grease, which I
personally didn't enjoy, however this
was quickly remedied with a wipe over of a micellar water pad,
a step by the way that's never needed with any of my other bi-phase
eye make-up removers.
That being said, if you don't mind the extra step, this is excellent
remover and I'm sure it would make easy work of all types of waterproof
eye make-up, especially mascaras and stubborn lipstick.
I would re-purchase, but not at the moment as they are more
removing products that I must first.

3.
CHANEL
LES BEIGES
WATER FRESH TINT

This is another one of those products that was making me more sad
with every use, not because it's a bad product, but rather because
it's nearing the end.
It's like no other product that I have ever tried and whilst it offers zero
coverage it does reveal a radiant, healthy, glowing and hydrated complexion
and I absolutely love everything about this product,
with just one exception...THE PRICE!
I have maybe a couple more applications before it's completely finished.
This was a splurge and one that I have loved and I'm sure I will
re-purchase at some point.

AVÈNE
Eau Thermale

I have mentioned it several times in previous empties posts.
This thermal spring water spray from Avène has been part of my beauty
life for many years and it's still the best water spray to calm and soothe
the skin or to just refresh the skin during the hot days, hence why I
go through so many.
If you haven't tried this product yet I highly suggest you add it to
your beauty regime.

MONTHLY FAVOURITES {JULY/AUGUST 2022}

I have a skin care heavy favourites post for July & August and it
goes without saying that I would highly recommend each and
every one.

L-R

1.

AUGUSTINUS BADER
THE RICH CREAM

All to often "super hyped up" skin care products and this was one,
can be somewhat of a let down, but I'm pleased to report back that
this was not.
This is a Luxury brand with a price to match and
I'm so missing this day/night cream and I would love to bring it
back into my skincare regime along with their Eye Cream.
It's a range for me to save up for along with an air ticket, as its not
available in South Africa...

2.

SKOON
RUBY MARINE
OVERNIGHT HYDRATING
MASK

This was a weird one for me, as initially I wasn't a fan but after
one application my skin was.
It's like no other mask that I have ever felt or applied,
it is different and not the "norm" in masking terms.
This thick pink buttery mask had a divine vanilla fragrance and
sat on the skin and created a protective barrier rather than
being absorbed into my skin, so therefore it felt quite greasy, which I
didn't really mind, as it was an overnight product.
The next morning my skin certainly felt softer and this mask
has found a place in my "Masking" wardrobe of products.

3.

STRIVECTIN
ANTI-WRINKLE
INTENSIVE EYE CONCENTRATE+

I've loved using Strivectin's Cult Favourite #1 wrinkle-smoothing eye cream.
It's fast-absorbing, lightweight, and layerable plus fragrance-free.
It provided me with enough moisturisation and hydration and I loved
the needle point nozzle that really allows for complete control
of the amount you dispense, making this eye cream very cost effective,
I haven't even finished my 30ml tube yet.

4.

DERMALOGICA
BIOLUMIN-C
VITAMIN C SERUM

I have only just posted my review on this product
a couple of days ago.
This is a High-performance serum that enhances the skin’s
natural defence system to brighten, firm and help dramatically reduce
the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
I noticed fairly quickly how much more radiant my skin was and
with time the texture of my skin appeared smoother.
I have thoroughly enjoyed using this Vitamin C Serum and would highly
recommend checking it out if you looking to introduce one into your
daily routine, it's well worth the splurge...

5.

BY TERRY
CRAYON KÔHL
TERRYBLY EYELINER

OH MY...BYTERRY certainly know how to make
eye crayons/pencils/liners etc.
This eye pencil/eyeliner has an incredibly soft ultra-creamy texture,
with a precision tip and glides on effortlessly with precision
 and ease.
If you've never been overly confident with eye pencil application
then I highly recommend this pencil, as it couldn't be any easier to apply.
It's a perfect softness and smudginess for the oldies to use, whilst it
doesn't pull our already stretched skin on our eyelids.
Again BY TERRY delivers another fantastic product and it's by far
the best eyeliner pencil that I've ever used
and that's saying something.

Let me know in the comments below if any of the above
 are your personal favourites.

AUGUSTINUS BADER THE RICH CREAM {REVIEW}

Before I get into my thoughts on this award winning cream from
 Augustinus Bader
let me give you an overview of the man behind this brand.

Professor Augustinus Bader is a globally recognized biomedical scientist and physician
and one of the foremost experts in the field of stem cell biology
 and regenerative medicine.

In a career that has spanned the globe, the German-born Professor has
spent over 30 years researching and developing technologies that activate
and harness the human body's capacity to heal, with a focus on the
reawakening of cells that become dormant due to aging or trauma.

In 2008 he developed a groundbreaking Wound Gel that heals severe
skin traumas without the need for surgery or skin grafts.
It is this revolutionary technique that inspired Augustinus Bader skincare.

Professor Bader is currently the director of Cell Techniques and Applied
Stem Cell Biology at The University of Leipzig, in Leipzig,
Germany where he lives with his family.

Augustinus Bader skincare was launched as recently as 2018 and
I first heard of this brand via the VICTORIA BECKHAM collaboration.
In such a short space of time Augustinus Bader has been
Voted Number One in WWD Beauty Inc.'s
The Greatest Skincare of All Time
by a jury of hundreds of our discerning peers, beauty insiders,
 and industry experts.

In his own words Augustinus Bader said
"The reason we launched the skincare brand was to provide a platform to
allow for the continued research and development of treatments that alleviate suffering
for those afflicted by severe burns and wounds and in turn,
the skincare activity will finance the research.
When it comes to our skincare, we are not traditional beauty developers;
we have decades of scientific research behind our products.
My approach to skincare focuses primarily on respecting, first and foremost,
human skin physiology and skin health and we will only release products
that bring a real solution to our customers."

So how did I manage to get my hands on a product from this super niche
skincare brand?
It was my primary reason for buying the
John Lewis Beauty Advent Calendar
back in 2021 and whilst it contained many of my "lusted" after
 beauty products, it was the
 Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream
that I wanted to get my hands on the most.

The calendar contained a 15ml size and I purposely waited to
put this iconic cream to the test and despite the 15ml size giving
me around 5 weeks of use I was extremely sad when it came to an end.

The original award-winning daily moisturizer is intensely luxurious,
hydrating and nourishing.
Supports cellular renewal to dramatically improve the complexion's appearance.

Backed by 30 years of research and innovation.
Powered by TFC8®

Clinically proven to reduce the signs of aging including the appearance of
fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation

Deeply hydrates, conditions, and renews for soft, even, restored skin
Promotes elasticity, supports skin barrier function, and prevents
transepidermal water loss - for skin that’s supple, plump, and smooth.

Protects against environmental aggressors
TFC8® supports cellular renewal and guides key ingredients to the cells.

On cleansed, dry skin, smooth the desired amount over the face, neck and décolleté, morning and evening.
Ideal for normal to dry skin, more mature skin types, and colder,
drier climates I feel it was made just for me.
AB skincare is 100% free of parabens, fragrance, SLS, SLES, DEA,
heavy metals, talc, and petrolatum/paraffin/mineral oil and formulated
without unnecessary preservatives, solvents, or emulsifiers.

The texture is luxuriously rich and creamy and it glides on beautifully, yet
initially I wasn't wowed by this product, which I was expecting considering
the price point, but patience is needed as with most skincare and as the first
month of use approached I began to notice my skin was definitely smoother,
plumper, softer and generally was looking great and I was super disappointed
that I was not able to put this product to the test for at least 3 months.
I can already see in my skin that it's missing the benefits of this cream
and I'm now able to fully understand the cult following/addiction, as
it's been like no other product that I've ever tried.
The fact that in just 51 months, Augustinus Bader has garnered an
unprecedented 92 industry-coveted awards, speaks absolute volumes
about this brand and their products, so I'm not sure what more I can add
other than I hope I can experience more from this brand in the future,
so I had better start saving now.
