MY FAVOURITE EYE MAKE-UP REMOVERS {2022}

With the advent of Micellar Waters, Cleansing Balms and other
multi functional cleansers, the use of eye make-up removers
seems to be on the decline.
I for one have always been a fan of using a separate product specifically
to remove eye make-up, especially when it comes to mascara.
Over the years I have used so many and I have never written a dedicated
post re my favourites.
From all the options available whether it be a lotion, gel, micellar,
pads or bi-phase my personal favourite type of remover is the latter.
(I must make mention though that I do not have a sensitive eye area)

I will post the Pink Links below which will take you straight to my
 original reviews.

LANCÔME
BI-FACIL
MAKE-UP REMOVER

I'm starting with a high-end favourite of mine
the Lancôme Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover.

The lipid phase lifts off eye makeup, while the water phase contains
special emollients to refresh and the condition skin, which I have found
has become more important to me with age, as the eye area always
requires more TLC.
What I enjoyed is that despite being non oily, it still did a good job of
instantly removing not only my eyeshadow and mascara, but made
light work of my Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, which is
always my benchmark as to how good an eye make-up remover truly is.

This very effective product is worthy of all its accolades and if
your budget allows, then this is without a doubt an eye make-up to
 seriously consider.

GATINEAU
FLORACIL
EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER

The GATINEAU Floracil Gentle Eye Make-up Remover was my "go to" for
many years and I revisited the product a couple of years ago
and it was just as good as I remembered and has since become my
"go to" once again.
This non-oily, non-drying and non-irritating liquid is highly effective.
I was impressed with how quickly it dissolved my eye make-up, even the
most stubborn of my mascaras, whilst leaving no residue behind rendering
it an absolute breeze and pleasure to use.
As with most eye make-up removers Floracil is extremely gentle
with the same pH as tears; which means, no stinging, irritation or puffiness.
It's also Dermatologist tested and Fragrance Free.

YVES ROCHER
EXPRESS
EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER

This remover from YVES ROCHER is without doubt my favourite and my most purchased remover all of time and unfortunately since YR withdrew from South Africa I now have to stock up when on my travels and sadly due to covid my
stash has depleted.

This is a bi-phase eye makeup remover, so expect to see the two phases
separate out and remember to always shake well before use, otherwise
the product will be imbalanced and not be as effective.
The one ingredient is the Organic Cornflower Water which is renowned for being gentle on the skin round the eye and having soothing properties and
both are often found in many eye products.
This product is super quick and easy to use and leaves the eye area feeling refreshed, there's no stinging and no real fragrance to mention
with this product.
For me it's a winner and I highly recommend if you have easy access to
Yves Rocher.

GARNIER
MICELLAR WATER

If you are looking for a very affordable, yet effective product to remove both
face, eye and lip make-up then you cannot go wrong with the
Micellar Water from GARNIER.
The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is a multi purpose product,
as it removes make-up, cleanses the face, eyes and lips,
all without having to remove or rinse off.
How can one product achieve so much...Well it's all down to the
Garnier Micellar technology in this all-in-one cleanser.
The cleansing agents attract and capture the make-up and impurities lifting
them away from skin, leaving it perfectly cleansed and refreshed.
GARNIER now have a couple of variants, but my review was on the original
 pink packaging for sensitive skin.
R75 400mls

There you have it my favourite tried and tested Eye Make-Up Removers
and there's one for every budget.
Let me know in the comments below if any of these are your "faves" also.

GARNIER MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER REVIEW {TBT MARCH 2020}

Here's another of my Throwback Thursday post in which I review the
GARNIER MICELLAR WATER
Originally posted back in 2015 Micellar Waters were a relative new cleansing
format and it's interesting to see how, in nearly five years, Micellar Waters
have become much loved part of our skincare routines.

Over the last 5 years I have reviewed several Micellar Waters and I still rate
this one from GARNIER, as my favourite.
GARNIER have since expanded their Micellar Water range and the price has changed
but the one thing that has remained the same is the hole, its still way too large.

Enjoy my #TBT post

"Oh no! not another Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water review"
I hear you say...
I'm afraid so, but before you leave my page, this review is written by
 someone over 50.

Since launching several months ago in South Africa social media has been
bombarded with very positive reviews and comments about
The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water ,which is a multi purpose product,
that removes make-up, cleanses the face, eyes and lips,
all without having to remove or rinse off.

How can one product achieve so much?
It's all down to the Garnier Micellar technology in this all-in-one cleanser.
The cleansing agents attract and capture the make-up and impurities lifting
them away from skin, leaving it perfectly cleansed and refreshed.

I'm somewhat sceptical about products that claim to "do it all", however after
the first use I was convinced that this product does "do it all" and convincingly so!
I have been using this efficient cleansing water now for several weeks, both as my cleanser
in the morning and as part of a double cleanse in the evening and I have no complaints.
It couldn't be easier to use-just apply to a cotton pad and wipe over the
entire face including eyes and lips and it leaves my skin feeling cleansed
and soothed.

I also enjoy that its:
 Fragrance free
 Hypoallergenic
 Dermatologically
 and
Ophthalmologically tested.

Garnier have a winner on their hands with this product, as we really don't have
too much choice in SA when it comes to Micellar Waters, but I'm sure that will
change with time.

I said earlier that I had no complaints, but I do have one!
GARNIER claim that 400ml size (R79.99) equals 200 uses.
However I have a gripe with the size of the dispensing hole in many of the
L'Oreal and Garnier liquids and this one is no different,
as the hole is just too large and in my opinion it only serves
 to encourage product wastage.

GARNIER CLEANSING WIPES GOODBYE DRY {REVIEW}

I'm not a lover of cleansing wipes, but I am a lover of Garnier cleansing products, so I decided to give these wipes a chance to convince and possibly even convert me.
The concept of a convenient pack of cleanser impregnated wipes does appeal to me, but unfortunately the ones that I have previously tried, really didn't deliver on a good cleanse and in some cases left my skin feeling "tacky".

I have been using the Garnier Softening Cleansing Milk, Softening Toner and the Micellar water, all for normal to dry skin, for sometime now, as they all offer good results for exceptional value.

Garnier Micellar Water

Garnier Goodbye Dry Cleansing Wipes

The slightly rose fragranced quilted wipes are impregnated with 2 doses of cleansing milk and when I flipped over the wipe I found it enough to do my usual double cleanse.
These wipes can be used all over the face, neck and the eye area. I was impressed with the ease and efficiency of the cleanse that the wipe gave my skin and more importantly there was no sticky residue left behind. I can believe that these wipes would make easy work of removing waterproof makeup without any harsh rubbing. I also enjoyed the softness of the wipe, which is enriched with soothing Rose and Vitamin E extracts, which also helps leave you skin feeling incredibly soft and comforted after use.

The Garnier Cleansing Wipes come in a handy pack of 25 and are Dermatologically and Opthalmologically tested and retail for approx R32.

Whilst I will still continue to use the Softening Cleansing Milk daily, I will, without hesitation, use the wipes for travel and always have a pack close at hand for emergencies or just for those lazy days.

There is no doubt that these wipes deliver on all that they claim and I have to admit I have turned a full 360 degrees on my view of cleansing wipes, (not just any wipes only the Garnier) so Garnier you have both convinced and converted me!

GARNIER SKIN NATURALS MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER {REVIEW}

"Oh no...not another Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water review"
I hear you say...
I'm afraid so, but before you leave my page, this review is written by
 "Moi"
a fifty year old beauty blogger.

Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water

Since launching several months ago in South Africa social media has been
bombarded with very positive reviews and comments about both the
Pure Active Micellar CleansingWater
(combination /oily and sensitive skin)
and the one that I obviously tried, for dry and sensitive skin (pink lid)

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is a multi purpose product,
as it removes make-up, cleanses the face, eyes and lips,
all without having to remove or rinse off.
How can one product achieve so much...Well it's all down to the Garnier Micellar technology in this all-in-one cleanser.
The cleansing agents attract and capture the make-up and impurities lifting
them away from skin, leaving it perfectly cleansed and refreshed.

I'm somewhat sceptical about products that claim to "do it all", however after
the first use I was convinced that this product does "do it all" and convincingly so!
I have been using this efficient cleansing water now for several weeks, both as my cleanser in the morning and as part of a double cleanse in the evening
 and I have no complaints.
It couldn't be easier to use-just apply to a cotton pad and wipe over the
entire face including eyes and lips, leaving my skin feeling cleansed
and soothed.

I also enjoy that its:
 Fragrance free
 Hypoallergenic
 Dermatologically
 and
Ophthalmologically tested.

I wasn't one of the many lucky beauty bloggers to receive this product as a
freebie from Garnier, but at R79.99 for a generous 400ml bottle
I'm not complaining, as it's worth every cent.
Garnier have a winner on their hands with this product, as we really don't have
in South Africa, the Micellar Water selection to choose from and those that
we can buy are far more expensive for far less quantity.

I said earlier that I had no complaints, but I do have one!
Garnier claim that 400mls of this product will equal 200 uses, but for those that know me, I have a gripe with the size of the dispensing hole in many of the
L'Oreal and Garnier liquids, as the hole is just too large and in my
opinion encourages wastage.

It is difficult to control the amount that you dispense onto the cotton pad, so just be aware otherwise your bottle wont last for any where near 200 uses.
My youngest "Kiddiewink" unbeknown to him will be using the combination
version soon, so I am curious to see how it works on a typical teenagers skin.
