L'OCCITANE SHEA BUTTER COMFORTING BUBBLE BATH {REVIEW}

It's no secret around here that a luxuriating bubble bath is my
absolute pleasure and my all time favourite bubbles are the
L'OCCITANE LAVENDER FOAM BATH
If you would like to read my review from 2016 then click Here

L'Occitane
have a wonderful array of foaming bath soaks, in a variety
 of fragrances for the perfect bubble bath and I recently spotted the new
SHEA BUTTER COMFORTING BUBBLE BATH
and I had to have it, after Lavender I'm partial to the fragrance and
 benefits of Shea.

Enriched with Shea (5%), known for its nourishing properties,
this bubble bath helps to soften the skin and prevent feelings of dryness.
Its luscious , creamy texture transforms into a rich, generous foam on
 contact with water, for a moment of comfort and well-being.

Ideal for all skin types, especially sensitive skins.

This white liquid has the comforting signature Shea fragrance that I adore.
It turns your bath into a luxurious, moisturising haven of bubbles,
but has it stolen my "bubble bath heart"?
No, it hasn't and the Lavender Foam bath is still my
ultimate bath product and it would really take something exceptional
to steal my heart away from the iconic lavender foam bath.

L'OCCITANE EYES AND LIPS BI-PHASIC MAKE-UP REMOVER {REVIEW}

I've had my "eye" (excuse the pun) on this
L'Occitane
Eyes & Lips
Bi-Phasic Make-up Remover
since it was launched some years back, but I refused to pay the
exorbitant price for such a small quantity.
Fast Track to a couple of months ago and I changed my mind with the
help of a 30% discount, so I finally got to try my favourite type
of eye make-up remover (Bi-Phase) from one of my favourite brands.

This bi-phasic eyes & lips make-up remover is infused with
anti-ageing immortelle and soothing calendula from the south of France,
this ultra-gentle make-up remover for the eyes and lips is as
comforting as it is effective.

Can be used by all skin types, even sensitive.
I did find this product to be delicately fragranced and didn't
present any issues for me, but then I generally don't have
sensitive eye area.

As with a Bi-Phase products don't forget to shake the bottle well
 then apply with a cotton pad.

Its silky formula gently removes even the most resistant waterproof
make-up leaving skin perfectly cleansed and eye contour comfortable.
There is no dragging of the skin whether you're using it around
the eye or over the lips.
The soothing properties can be felt and it leaves the skin free from
any oily residue.
I really enjoyed this product, but unfortunately, for me, at full price it
just doesn't work out to be very cost effective at the rate I go through
this type of product.

In case you are wanting to know...
Are there others, just as effective, that are cheaper and that also
 come in a larger size?

YES...
there are and I have reviewed many here on my blog so
check out my other Eye Make-Up Remover reviews

BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW {JULY 2022}

 Hard to believe that it's July already and I have 3 products
to try, a serum, an eye make-up remover, an eye pencil and
1 beauty aid in the form of re-usable make-up pads.

L-R

1.
BYTERRY
CRAYON KHÔL

I'm a huge fan of BY TERRY, so I would be very surprised if I
don't like this Khôl pencil.
It was an inclusion in the BYTERRY Beauty Advent Calendar, a calendar
 that just keeps on giving me the chance to try many of her great products.
This eye pencil/liner claims to be waterproof, have a precision tip,
 ultra creamy texture and a long lasting formula.
It won't take me too long to bring you my full review on this product.

2.
FACE HALO

They have been around for some time now, but I'm not sure
if they are available in South Africa, as I received mine in my
Harpers Bazaar Beauty Edit box last year.
The Face Halo is an eco-friendly re-usable pad that removes make-up
with only water and eliminates the use of around 500 cotton pads.
I'm excited to see if this pad really delivers on its "water only"
promise.

3.
DERMALOGICA
BIOLUMIN
BRIGHTENING
VITAMIN C SERUM

I always prefer, when possible, to use a vitamin c serum during
the winter months when the sun is less intense.
Dermalogica is a brand that I hold in high regard when it comes
to skincare products and I've reviewed several.
This high-performance serum claims to enhance the skin’s natural defence
 system to brighten, firm and help dramatically reduce the appearance
of fine lines and wrinkles, so again I'm keen to try this product over the next
few months and report back to you.

4.
L'OCCITANE
EYES & LIPS
BI-PHASIC REMOVER

I have been wanting to try this bi-phase eye make-up remover
for sometime, but I didn't want to part with R370 for a 100mls of product,
 that was until it recently came on a less 50% sale, so here we are.
Bi-phase removers are my favourite type for removing eye make-up
and have used many, so expect my review fairly soon.

L'OCCITANE SHEA RICH BODY LOTION {REVIEW}

 Apologies for not posting any product reviews for the past 2 weeks,
alas I was caught in the "thick" of the civil unrest here in South Africa.
Anyway I'm back and picking up where I left off with my "Sunday Review"
on the L'Occitane Shea Ultra Rich Body Lotion.

As with any product containing Shea Butter you immediately know that it's
 going to be nourishing and moisturising for the skin and L'Occitane are
without doubt the experts when it comes to "all things Shea" as they've
 been at it since 1980, when L'OCCITANE started up a fair and
sustainable partnership with the women of Burkina Faso.
At first, there were around 100 women. Now there are over 10,000,
working to develop the shea butter supply chain.
Shea butter is at the core of their product line-up and their best selling
Shea Hand Cream is perhaps the most well known Shea product in the world.
L'Occitane have a vast selection of products for both face & body, within
 their Shea Collection and in order to make it easier for you decide which
Shea product is right for you they have included the % of Shea Butter
inside the blue circle on the front of each and every Shea product.
The higher the %, the more concentrated the product has of Shea Butter
and therefore better suited to very dry skins.
The percentages in their Shea collection range from 10% to 100%.

The Rich Body Lotion contains (15%) organic shea butter and calendula,
the Rich Body Lotion nourishes and instantly brings comfort to dry skin.
It leaves the skin lastingly hydrated for up to 48 hours after application.
Its fluid formula helps soothe feelings of tightness, offering day after day
 protection against skin dryness.

It has that distinctive "Shea" soft clean fragrance and I found it to be ideal
for my skin during winter, but for drier skins you may have to opt for
the Ultra Rich Body Cream (25%) or in severe cases the
Shea Melting Butter which contains a whopping
 70% Shea Butter to combat extreme dryness.
In cold months, or when skin is especially dry or flaky, you can
combine the use of the Shea Rich Body Lotion
 in the morning and Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream at night.

As always L'Occitane rarely disappoints and you cannot go wrong
with this product for everyday moisturising body care.

SUNDAY SAMPLE

I have un-earthed several L'Occitane samples during a recent beauty
 de-clutter and despite having used the
L'Occitane Shea Ultra Riche Body Lotion
around 12 years ago, I've never actually written a product review
here on my blog.
 I'm sure its had some formulation tweaks over this time, so I
 thought I would re-acquaint myself with this body lotion during
 the coming week by using this deluxe 30ml sample size.
When it comes to Shea Butter skincare products L'Occitane
are truly the experts and of course
I will bring you my full product review next Sunday.

L'OCCITANE SHEA BODY SHOWER OIL {REVIEW}

There's no doubt that I adore all things L'Occitane and here on
BSB it's the brand that I've written most product reviews on,
whether it be face, body, hair or home fragrance,
I've reviewed them all (well not quite all, but many)
However the Shea Body Shower Oil was a new try for me and knowing
how well L'Occitane have mastered their oil shower formulas
I was expecting nothing but greatness from this product.

Shea Butter is one of nature's miracle ingredient At L'OCCITANE
and they have a Provence-only rule.
But when it comes to special ingredients like Shea Butter, they make
an exception.
The women of Burkina Faso have been using Shea Butter for centuries
to nourish and protect hair and skin.
That’s why they teamed up with them, years ago, to create a sustainable,
fair trade supply chain that delivers supreme quality
Shea Butter.
For dry skins Shea Butter is the best...
L'Occitane have a whole collection of products based on this
miracle ingredient and I have yet to try one that disappoints.

Shea Body Shower Oil
very gently cleanses
 (I wouldn't recommend use after a heavy days work)
It's formulated with 10% Shea oil, so its rich texture leaves a nourishing,
 protective film, which helps soften dry skin.
           It contributes to soothe feelings of tightness, helping skin feel more
                                         supple and comfortable.

       This in-shower oil delicately perfumes the skin with that iconic L'Occitane
                                       Shea fragrance that I love.

Apply the oil to dampened skin and massage in a circular movement until it transforms into a silky soft foam, then rinse off with luke warm water.

This Shea shower oil can be used on its own and if needed a body lotion

can be used afterwards.

I don't have a dry skin, so I found it best used alone.

I was so wanting to be WOWED by this shower oil, my dislike was the texture of the oil, whilst it was rich it was also heavy, it lacked refinement or lightness and I can only compare it to a vegetable oilwhich surprised me as L'Occitane have always been the experts when it comes to shower oils, if you have use their Almond Shower Oil you will fully understand

and this ain't no Almond Shower Oil!

SUNDAY SAMPLE

After working for the french brand L'Occitane for many years,
I reckon I've tried most of their products, but this is one of the newer
additions to the Shea collection that I haven't had the pleasure of using,
 so this coming week I will try out a L'Occitane shower product,
in the form of
Shea Body Shower Oil

This deluxe sample size of 35mls will keep me going for the
next 7 days I'm sure.
The Shea Body Shower Oil promises to gently cleanse and help
 nourish dry skin, whilst its rich texture will leave a nourishing,
protective film, which helps soften dry skin.
As with all L'Occitane products I'm sure this product will deliver
on the above, but pop back next Sunday to see how I rate
this Shea Body Shower Oil.
To read my previous reviews on L'Occitane products, but I warn you
there are many, then

L'OCCITANE IMMORTELLE DIVINE FOAMING CLEANSING CREAM #TBT REVIEW

Today's Throwback Thursday Review goes back to August 2018
and since then I have become a huge fan of a variety of face
cleansing products including the foaming type cleansers.
However my concern regarding the price hasn't changed as I still
 prefer to invest more in my treatment/active/serum
 products rather than my cleansing.

~~~~~~
Cleansing is the first important step in your twice daily beauty routine.
It's vital to start with a clean canvas before applying any treatment creams.
Even though I'm more of a Cleansing milk/lotion kinda a girl and always
 have been I don't mind slotting a cleansing cream or balm, as my second
cleanse into my skincare routine every now and then.
L'Occitane
 Immortelle Divine
Foaming Cleansing Cream
I've been using the twice a day (am & pm) for this past week and whilst
 this is not a full long term review, I felt it was enough time for me
 to form an opinion and straight off its like no other
cleansing product that I've ever tried, as it's a cream in foam texture.
This Foaming Cleansing Cream has been formulated for all skin types,
to be used following the Divine Cleansing Balm, as the second cleanse
in the Divine routine.
(I used this product in 2 ways, as a second cleanse post using another
cleanser as a first cleanse and several times on its own)
 This rich luxurious cream transforms into a dense, generous foam on
contact with water to cleanse the face without drying the skin,
it gently rids the skin of impurities, traces of make-up and pollution,
which it does with relative ease.
After a minute or so of massaging it's easy to rinse or you can remove
with a wet face cloth and yes it does leaves the skin looking
 and feeling both clean, fresh and above all soft and Divine...
Being a lover of the all of the products in the
L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Range,
this foaming cleansing cream contains the same anti-ageing
immortelle essential oil, as the other products in the range
along with Vitamin E and all of its antioxidant benefits, whilst
 95% of its ingredients are from natural origins.
This cleanser doesn't come cheap and whilst it forms an important part of
the Divine regime and when it comes to high end brands and let's face it,
the Divine range is high end, I always advocate that you buy and use
the prescribed products in the range to ensure the best results.
I really enjoyed my weeks trial with the Divine Foaming Cleansing Cream
and even though the product is DIVINE sadly it hasn't converted me.
I'm just not a huge fan of these types of cleansing products, so personally
I can't justify the price.
L'OCCITANE DELICIOUS LIP SCRUB RASPBERRY CRUSH #TBT REVIEW
This original review dates back to April 2019, which is 2 years ago and yet it seems
like just the other day I wrote this review.
My views on the importance of exfoliation, even on the lips, still remain the same
and sadly we still don't seem to have many new additions to the
Lip Exfoliation category.
This product did become a permanent listing.
~~~~~~

L'Occitane have just launched here in South Africa a range of
3 Delicious Lip Scrubs and I have to say this excites me.
I've said a million times on this blog about how its so important to
exfoliate our bodies from top to toe, including our lips.

To be fair there's not a huge choice of Lip scrubs/exfoliators out there but L'Occitane
 have just launched 3 fruity options, as part of a Fruity Collection of products, which also
includes Lip Balms, Lip Protector,Lipsticks and Face Masks.

The 3 Mediterranean flavours are:
Marmalade Kiss
Raspberry Crush
&
Fabulous Fig

My choice was the the Raspberry Crush and it not only looks and smells
scrumptious (similar to Raspberry Jam)
 but it does an excellent job of smoothing the skin to reveal soft lips.
Its formulated with mouth watering extracts of Mandarin,Fig and Raspberry
to gently exfoliate.

It couldn't be easier or more of a delight to use:

Use once or twice a week.
Gently rub onto dry lips in a circular motion then rinse off with water for a smooth finish.
 A small amount is all you require and after use you can follow with the new
 L'Occitane Delicious Multi-Balm for extra moisture and Fruity Lipstick for a shot of
 care and colour.

The Formula is vegetarian friendly and made without silicone, mineral oil and animal
 derivate ingredients.

Beauty Shout Box gives this product a very deserving 10/10 despite its rather
steep pricing, but I'm sure the cost per application will work out to be fairly low.
I'm just happy to see that there is now a wider selection of lip care products available
here in South Africa
 and hopefully this will become a permanent line, as I sense that this new collection
 could be a Limited Edition range.

L'OCCITANE IMMORTELLE PRECIOUS OVERNIGHT MASK {REVIEW}

 I usually leave my overall thoughts and review, on a product, until
the end of my post, however for this product I'm switching my format
around and from the onset I'm informing you that I just did not
 get on with the L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Overnight Mask...at all.
Having loved and reviewed products from this French brand for the past
12 years, I don't think in that time I've written a negative review,
so you can imagine how it saddens me to be writing this,
but I like to keep it real on my blog
and as always this is my personal experience.

Being a recent launch I was kindly given several free samples to try
when I purchased another product a couple of weeks ago, so during the
past week I put the Overnight Mask to the test.
I'm assuming that this Overnight Mask has replaced the previous
Immortelle Cream Mask, which I reviewed back in 2017 and loved

The Immortelle Precious Collection of skincare products have been around
for many years and some products are being overhauled and
 being re-formulated with "new powers".

Over the years I have reviewed several from their
Precious Collection and the core Anti-Ageing ingredient that runs
throughout the range is the wonderful essential oil of the
Immortelle flower.

The Precious Overnight Mask helps to reduce dull skin, fine lines,
uneven skin texture, moisture loss and more importantly
it has been developed to tackle the damaging effects of
over-exposure to environmental aggressors, including blue light.

Specifically at night, blue light from digital screens could interfere with the
 day-night rhythm of your skin, your skin may not recognise
it's sleep time!
Over time, it can dull the complexion and damage the look of youthful skin.

The Overnight Mask acts during the night and is enriched with:

Immortelle Essential Oil
 known for its ability to help fight visible signs of ageing.

Immortelle Super Aqueous Extract
 known to have antioxidant properties, it helps skin’s resistance to
effects of external aggressors.

Dynamic Hyaluronic Acid
 a unique form of low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid bonded to an
essential mineral with benefits on skin renewal.

 I do love an overnight mask and have several in my
"Mask Wardrobe" and I sounded like the perfect candidate and
with the inclusion of the Dynamic Hyaluronic Acid it sounds like
next level in masking.

It's ideal for Dry, Normal & Combination skins.
Sadly, despite this mask sounding great on paper, in practice I wasn't
impressed and here are my 3 personal reasons why:

1.
Sadly I found this cream to have, for want of a better word,
a vaseline type texture that sat just on my skin, I felt that my skin
couldn't breathe, a feeling that I've never experienced in 40 years of being
 involved with beauty.
Maybe you are thinking, as I did, I applied too much, but as instructed
I applied a thin layer on my face and left on overnight.
(You can also use twice a week, apply a thick layer on your face,
leave for 10 minutes then gently remove with cotton pads)

I'm always one that advocates the "less is more" policy where skincare is concerned,
 so on my second application I applied an even thinner layer and the feeling
was exactly the same.

2.
Another issue I have with this mask is the fragrance, as with all
L'Occitane products that contain Immortelle Essential Oil, it has a
distinct floral aroma, which isn't to everyones taste.
 I can tolerate in the other Immortelle products, as it soon wears off,
but oh my goodness this mask is way too fragranced and overpowering
 for my liking and unfortunately it lingers rather than dissipates.

3.
Now I'm not shy to spend when it comes to skincare products, but this
Overnight Face Mask is way overpriced, as it retails for a whopping
R1025 for 50mls of product
yes you read correctly!
(previous size of the Immortelle Creme Mask was 125ml)

To be fair to the product I have only used twice and in isolation, with no
other Precious products, so I really
cannot comment on any longterm effects this mask has on the
skin, however here is another example of how trying a sample of
a pricey skincare product works.
I discovered that this mask, for all the reasons mentioned above, was not
for me or my skin, as they say

"some you win and some you loose"
so
 c'est la vie...
