RITUALS FORTUNE LIP BALM {REVIEW}

I would like to think that I'm somewhat of an expert when it comes to
Lip Balms, so when I saw this in my RITUALS Advent Calendar I was
super excited.

The Fortune Lip Balm Repair
is a natural, nourishing and
protecting lip balm, enriched with Shea Butter,
refreshing Eucalyptus and Vitamin E.

It's an exclusive blend of rich oils - including olive oil, jojoba oil
and coconut oil - helps moisturise the lips, while the antioxidants in
 grapeseed oil help smooth and protect against the damaging effects
of free radicals.
The 100% natural formula softens and hydrates dry, cracked lips.

This is the first lip balm where I have experienced the
click system, where you click the button and the bullet
is released from the case, which is quite nifty.
The packaging is weighty and feels good in the hand.
Whist enjoying the lip balm overall and especially the
Eucalyptus scent and refreshing sensation.
However would I rush out to buy another, unfortunately
not, but then again I am quite critical when
it comes to lip balms and after many years and many lip balm reviews
 it takes something very special to excite me theses days....

LUSH SNOW FAIRY LIP JELLY {REVIEW}

The Christmas Limited Edition range SNOW FAIRY from LUSH
 has its own fan club and I'm one of them, as I just love the
bubblegum sweet fragrance, but I know that it's not for everyone,
but for those FANS, they just can't get enough.

 The SNOW FAIRY collection grows
every year with new product additions and this year is no exception.
The SNOW FAIRY LIP JELLY is one such addition and it was a
 non-negotiable purchase as it combines my passion for
 lip balms and snow fairy, so it's a match made in SNOW FAIRY heaven.

The pink glistening jelly is sweetly fragranced and whilst it isn't a
super treating lip product it does provides nourishment and softness
 to the lips.
It gives a subtle gloss effect and can be used alone or over a lipstick.
I always find that a lip balm in a pot offers you way more value for money
 than a lip balm in a bullet or tube format.
 I purchased mine overseas last month and I have been using
for a few weeks now, I've really been enjoying this lip balm,
 but then again I'm a huge fan of all things SNOW FAIRY

As I post this, the collection has just launched
 both in stores and online, so I wouldn't delay to get this seasons fix of
SNOW FAIRY

CLARINS HYDRA-ESSENTIAL MOISTURE REPLENISHING LIP BALM {REVIEW}

I have been using the
CLARINS MOISTURE REPLENISHING LIP BALM
whilst I have been traveling during September and as I'm sure many of
you will agree, travel always takes its toll on our lips, so I was curious
to see how this one from Clarins would fare.

Clarins products very rarely fail on the performance front and
I was really hoping that this would deliver on all of its claims.

It's a replenishing lip care for dry and damaged lips.
Enriched with comforting blue lotus wax, this balm's rich melt-in texture
promises to protect, hydrates and nourish lips, restoring their natural
 rosy glow and plumped appearance.

Day: apply to the lips as needed, either on its own or before lipstick.
Night: apply a thick layer to the lips for intensive repair.
It's another winner from CLARINS and it certainly didn't disappoint.
This creamy gel delivers immediate long lasting comfort to
dry chapped lips.
Its rich melting texture does protect, moisturise and nourish
 very well. If your lips are super dry then a thick layer
overnight works wonders to replenish and rebalance.

The soft pink tint in the gel does offers a slight rosy glow to the lips,
which is more flattering than the clear gels,
however I'm not 100% sold on the plumping effect.
I'm not usually a fan of a slanted tip applicator on lip balms, yet
this seemed to perform better than others that I've tried.
it works well over any lipstick shade, but particularly well over
the drier matte finishes.
It was easy and quick to use and was the perfect shape and size
 for my bag making it a good travel companion and I would
 highly recommend.

    BY TERRY BAUME DE ROSE LIQUID LIP BALM {REVIEW}

    BY TERRY
    Baume de Rose
    Liquid Lip Balm

    Having already tried, reviewed and loved the other 2 formats of
    this cult-classic I was very happy indeed to receive this Travel-friendly
    liquid format as part of a Gift With Purchase last year.

    To read my reviews

    A liquid version of the Baume de Rose Lip Balm, this Vitamin-rich balm
    offers intense moisturising and protection.
     Formulated with rose blossom essential wax that has powerful
     regenerative properties to combat dryness.
    Nourishing shea butter, antioxidant vitamin E and ceramides
    help strengthen and protect lips against everyday aggressors.
    Hyaluronic acid microspheres prevent lips from feeling dehydrated.

    The non-sticky, creamy texture leaves a natural, glossy finish and
    as expected from the Baume de Rose collection it has that
    delicate rose scent, which instantly soothes the senses.

    I was able to test this product thoroughly on my recent road trip
    and it was a great travel companion for my lips.
    Perfect for quick and easy touch-ups on-the-go.
    It was the ideal size as it took up hardly any space in
    my hand bag or pocket.

    The velvety-rich formula glides on effortlessly and leaves a non-sticky
     glossy finish with a subtle shine.
    The Lips feel smooth, supple and soft. It also helps to soothe
    and repair the condition of dry, chapped lips.
    This is a must-have that keeps lips intensely moisturised and
    protected whilst on-the-go.
    I was expecting great things from the Liquid Lip Balm as it carries a
    premium price tag and my "great" expectations thankfully were met...

    BYTERRY BAUME DE ROSE #TBT REVIEW

    Since writing this review back in October 2019 my BYTERRY
    collection has swollen somewhat, whilst my purse has seriously shrunk.
    Seriously though this Luxe French brand has quickly become one of my faves,
     as they not only formulate products that are effective, but I have found
    them to be super radiance and glow enhancing for the more mature skins
    amongst us.

    I've since removed the LA MER Lip Balm from my luxe wish list, as
    I have purchased and reviewed several other luxe lip balms, one of
    which is the BYTERRY Baume de Rose Crayon, so to read that review
    I will be reviewing many more BYTERRY products in the coming months
     following the opening of my BYTERRY Beauty Advent Calendar.

    As always I have updated the prices or should I say ONE price, as yet
    again the South African price is the only one that has increased from
    R830 to R970, which is just under a 17% price increase since
    October 2019.

    ~~~~~~
    I always have a forever changing "Luxe Beauty Wish List" and on that list
     are two rather pricey Lip Balms.
    The one is from the French brand BYTERRY BAUME DE ROSE and the other
     is LA MER The Lip Balm both have been highly praised by beauty editors and bloggers around the world and curiosity has gotten the better of me,
    so they're both on my list.
    Earlier this year I treated myself to the
    BYTERRY CELLULAROSE BRIGHTENING CC SERUM
    To read my full review
    I absolutely love this product and on the strength of that I was able to tick
    off my list the
    BYTERRY BAUME DE ROSE
    Baume de Rose Lip Balm
    is without doubt the Rolls Royce of lip care and being a Lip Balm Junkie
    I feel I can say that, after having many years of experience in trying all types
    of lip products ranging from drugstore offerings to high end indulgences.
    This product forms part of the Baume de Rose collection of products, so as
     one would expect the entire range is fragranced with a delightful delicate
    rose scent that soothes the senses.
    The balm has a velvety smooth texture and a non-sticky finish.
    This balm harnesses the power of rose blossom essential wax to soothe and
    repair the condition of dry, chapped lips.
    Enriched with Vitamins for intense moisturising this balm is both regenerative
    and protective.
    Nourishing shea butter, antioxidant vitamin E and ceramides help strengthen
     and protect lips against everyday aggressors. Hyaluronic acid microspheres
     prevent lips from feeling dehydrated.
    This balm has several ways to use:
    Use fingertips and apply a generous amount over the lips.
     Use alone or apply under lip products as a base for a smoother lip finish.
     For a glossy effect apply over lipstick.
    Massage into the nails and cuticles to make them feel softer and smoother
    For a more intensive lip treatment, apply a generous amount over the lips
    and leave to absorb overnight.
    I tried all of the above ways of application with the exception of massaging it
    into my cuticles, as I was way too mean to use my precious lip balm
     on my nails, but apparently it has great results.
    My preferred way of application is to leave overnight, which works exceptionally
     well on drier lips, but this product miraculously leaves your lips looking great
    and feeling softer any way you apply it.
    I understand that with an R830  R970 price tag for this multi purpose lip balm
     doesn't fall into everyone's budget, but if it does then this is definitely one
     to add to your beauty wishlist.
    I have no regrets about my purchase, however I do have one looming problem,
    as I'm already starting to worry about the day my pot is empty...
    BYTERRY
    is available exclusively in South Africa from Metropolitan Cosmetics and
    they have 3
    beautiful boutiques in Sandton,Hyde Park Corner and Melrose Arch and for
     those living in other areas of SA, you can order online.
    They stock several niche skincare and fragrance brands including
    Dr Sebagh
    Zelens
    Tan-Luxe
    StriVectin
    Jack Black
    DELAROM
    If you don't have any overseas trips planned or don't want to get involved in ordering direct from overseas due to the erratic customs charges we face
    or you can't get a cosmetic mule to bring back for you then
    Metropolitain Cosmetics is the answer.
    After much research regarding overseas pricing, especially on the
    BYTERRY range
    the price you pay in SA is around 10% more than the UK for
    example
     (based on the todays rate £1= R18.69)
    Which is far less than the 3rd retailer websites we have in SA, which I refuse
     to buy from due to their exorbitant pricing structure.
    LAURA MERCIER HYDRATING LIP BALM {REVIEW}
     As I've mentioned so many times on my blog
    "I am a Lip Balm addict"
    and I can't help myself, as its my "Achilles Heel" of beauty.
    My recent purchase of the
    Laura Mercier Hydrating Lip Balm
    was not planned and some may think a strange, first purchase from
    this French and American cosmetics and skincare line that was founded back
    in 1996 by celebrity makeup artist, Laura Mercier.
    Renowned as being the pioneer of the “Flawless Face” I may just have
     to make a return visit to Skins Cosmetics to check out her
    collection of award winning "Flawless" foundations, tinted moisturisers
    and face primers.
    This luxe lip balm moisturises and visibly softens lips.
    Lips are left feeling smooth, fully conditioned and prepared for any
    makeup application.
    The 4 main ingredients are:
    Cold-pressed Plum Seed Oil:
     for deep nourishment
    Fresh Spring Water:
    for instantly hydrating and bringing skin’s moisture levels back
    to its optimal state.
    Rose Water:
    A blend of French Rose Flower Extract and Damask Rose Flower Oil is full
    of essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants known to calm
    and balance the skin.
    Starflower Oil:
    Laura’s secret weapon for achieving healthy looking skin.
    This oil is known to nourish skin, perfectly preparing it for flawless makeup application.
    I'm so happy that I was introduced to Laura Mercier via this lip balm,
    which I'm really enjoying and as many good lip balms do, it glides on
    beautifully, nourishes and looks good worn either on it's own or
    under/over a lip colour.
    Having reviewed "make-up bags" full of lip balms, of varying price points,
     this one is one of my more pricier buys and I don't apologise for that,
    as I'm a self confessed "Addict" so expect many more lip balm
    reviews in the future...
    DIOR ADDICT LIP GLOW LIP BALM {REVIEW}
    I am a self confessed Lip Balm addict , as I have said on many occasions
    and I ma never too far away from one, however of late I have been
    "pushing the spend boat"
    out a little and my latest purchase has been the new
     DIOR LIP GLOW LIP BALM
    Considering the price I was expecting great things from this product and
    on paper it was looking promising, as this is the 1st Dior lip balm formulated
     with 97% natural-origin ingredients that
     subtly revives the natural colour of lips with a custom glow for 6h and
    hydrates the lips for 24h.
    Thanks to its colour reviver technology, the Dior Addict Lip Glow lip balm reacts
     with the moisture level of the lips to reveal a custom colour and a subtle shine.
    This extremely sensorial balmy balm reveals maximum comfort and care
     for a long time and the lips felt well hydrated for many hours, but personally
     I wouldn't say it extends to 24hrs.
     This unique formula made with natural-origin ingredients is
     infused with the wonders of the main ingredient  cherry oil...
    Cherry Oil:
    helps reconstruct and strengthen the natural barrier function of the skin
     of the lips over the course of applications.
    The balm provides a sensation of instant comfort.
    An oil with a composition similar to that of the lipids in the skin of the lips contributes to lip comfort, while helping to preserve hydration and
    nourish the lips.
    It also contains my favourite...
    Shea Butter:
     wraps the skin in a soft cocoon.
    Sunflower and Rice Waxes:
     guarantee a stick with greater solidity and fuse with the skin to release
     just the right dose of lip care.
    No one can deny the beauty of the new couture case, it feels luxe in the hand
    and has the most satisfying click, when you slide the inner tube into the
     chic outer pink case.
    Multi-use, Dior Addict Lip Glow can be worn on its own as a lip balm
     or as a primer under lipstick, however I tended to wear it alone.
    The range of up to 12 Signature shades (depends on which country)
    is designed to meet the needs of women
     and men, based on their desires and skin tone.
    I chose the shade 006 Berry, a crushed blackberry shade,
    which offered me a close match to my own lip colour, only better.
    Did it turn out to be as promising on the lips as it did on paper?
    Yes it did and this product may have ignited a DIOR flame
    to try further Lip Addict products and shades.
    BURT'S BEES MOISTURISING MANGO LIP BALM REVIEW
    If you've been around Beauty Shout Box for a while you will already
    know that I love a good Lip balm and that I am a bit of a self confessed addict.
     It also doesn't matter whether they're from a luxury brand or the local
    drugstore, I'm drawn to all things Lip Balm.
    I was recently sent this fruity little Mango number from
    Burt's Bees
    and after strawberries, my 2nd fave fruit is mango, so this product
     immediately pleased me on 2 counts.
    Seeing it's the first time I'm reviewing anything from this US brand I
    always like to give you a short overview of the brand.
    Burt’s Bees® has been offering distinctive earth-friendly, natural health
    and beauty care products for 30 years.
    From a beekeeper’s backyard in Maine to the leading edge of natural,
    Burt’s Bees knows natural body care solutions from head-to-toe and operates
    with The Greater Good™ top of mind.
     No parabens, phthalates, petrolatum or SLS and no animal testing.
    Everyone has a Lip Balm on hand and in my case I have dozens,
    you'll find several in my purse, my car, in my bedside drawers,
    on my dressing table and sometimes left in clothes pockets and whilst
    mulling this over, I can officially announce that I have more Lip Balms
     dotted around the house than I have hand sanitisers and that's
    quite a claim, as I have a hand sanitiser in every room.
     Burt’s Bees classic Beeswax Lip Balm has become a staple worldwide and they
    also have a variety of exotic flavours.
    Each of these exotic balms is infused with real natural ingredients to nourish lips,
    like Mango Butter, Pomegranate Oil, Pink Grapefruit,
    Vanilla and more and I've already spotted a Strawberry, Vanilla Bean,
    and a rather delicious sounding Coconut & Pear.
    Burt’s Bees Mango Butter
    Moisturizing Lip Balm
    A paradise for your lips.
    Burt's Bees Mango Lip Balm is made with Mango Butter, a naturally
    nourishing balm that smoothes dry lips.
    Hydrate you lips with this tropical twist on moisture.
     Key ingredients:
    Mango Butter
    Coconut Oil
    100% Natural
    In my experience I often find the drugstore brands lean
    more towards that vaseline feel, which ultimately results in
    a quick re-application, but I didn't find that with the Burts Bees.
    Initially after comforting and nourishing my lips it soon settled
    to have a more matte, as opposed to a shiny greasy finish.
    The mango flavour, whilst delicate isn't too overpowering that
    you are compelled to lick your lips all the time.
    I'm so enjoying this lip balm, as it feels way more luxurious on the
    lips than I expected it to and at only R67 I can now add even
    more Lip balms to my ever growing collection or should I say addiction,
    I'm also happy to announce that I have some more Burt's Bees products to
    review in the coming months and despite being most well known
    for their lip care products, yet in certain markets they offer ranges
    to care for the hands, face, body and even a make-up collection.
    Burt's Bees launched here in South Arica in 2019
