MY TOP 11 SKINCARE PRODUCTS 2022 {PART 1}

As I have done in previous years I'll be splitting this post into 2 parts.
I have 11 excellent skincare products (which is 2 less than 2021)
that are all deserving of a place on
this 2022 list and in my opinion are worthy of a purchase.
Todays post will include 6 products and I will post part 2
which will include my next 5 skincare products very soon...

I do however highly recommend that you read my original reviews on
 each product below to find out all the product info and more on my
 thoughts and opinions.

I normally begin with cleansers, yet this has to be the first time that
 cleansers have not appeared on my list
and that's not due to me not reviewing any good ones, as I did, but
I only take my absolute favourite skincare products across the board
and the items below came out above any of those reviewed cleansing
products.

  Eye Treatments are up first, as it's one of my favourite
categories, as I started using back in my late teens/early 20's
 and they've always been present in my daily skincare regime.
These three, I rate highly and are all different in regards to
their function and vary in prices.

STRIVECTIN
ANTI-WRINKLE
INTENSIVE EYE CONCENTRATE PLUS

I've loved using this eye cream
It's fast-absorbing, lightweight, and layerable plus fragrance-free.
It's been a perfect twice daily eye cream and whilst results from
eye creams can take some time to be noticeable, if at all, I personally
experienced an improvement over the last seven and half months of use,
especially in the smoothness and firmness of the skin under the eye
 and an improvement in the depth of the 2 lines between my brows.

Now it didn't happen within 5 Days as they claim, but perhaps if
the eye area had been very neglected, I can only imagine how quick
you could see an improvement.
It provided me with enough moisturization and hydration and I loved
 the needle point nozzle that really allows for complete control
 of the amount you dispense, making this eye cream very cost effective,
especially as it's on the pricey side.

CLARINS
TOTAL
EYE CONTOUR GEL

Using this eye product again after so many years has been a real
trip down a "Beauty Memory Lane".
It was the first treatment eye product I ever used at the tender age of
 around 19 or 20.
I was happy to see that the products features and benefits had
remained basically the same as this cooling, non-oily eye gel is still
formulated to minimise the look of puffiness and dark circles.
I'm so glad I've re-discovered the blue eye gel or should
I say the current version, as it's just as refreshing, cooling and de-puffing
as I remember and a product I would highly recommend and one
that I mustn't forget about again....

Skin Proud
 Icicle Cooling Eye Serum Stick

Featuring a five-part hyaluronic acid complex, this instantly cooling balm
 freshens and tightens, whilst helping to lock in hydration for healthy
 under eyes.
 The unique balm-like texture can be used on bare skin or added
over make up for an instant pick me up when your eyes are feeling tired.

Now this product hasn't replaced any of my current eye treatments,
 but it's rather a welcome extra addition.
(I must be on my 3rd or 4th one)

If you are a "first timer" with an eye product, then this is a great one.
I personally find it so easy to just pick up and apply
several times a day, as I adore the packaging, the swipe around the
eye application and its instantly cooling effect.
~~~~~~
Next are Serums and I have three on my "tops" list and I have absolutely
 loved using them all,
so whether you are looking to introduce a serum into your routine or
take your serum intensity up a notch or two, I found all to be excellent.
ELEMIS
PRO-COLLAGEN
RENEWAL SERUM
In my eyes ELEMIS can do no wrong, as I have yet to use one of their
products that I didn't like or enjoy.
The Pro-Collagen Renewal Serum is a rejuvenating and firming serum
that encourages renewal without any retinol.
It could not have been any easier to incorporate into my existing
daily skincare regime.
In a "Beauty Nutshell" it's an effective, easy to use, lightweight
 Retinol Alternative Facial Concentrate that can be used by all skin types.
If you’re after youthful and plump skin without any of the side effects
from Retinol products like dryness, redness or irritation,
look no further, I’ve found the one.
BIOLUMIN-C SERUM
BRIGHTENING VITAMIN C SERUM
This is a High-performance serum that enhances the skin’s
natural defence system to brighten, firm and help dramatically reduce
 the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
I noticed fairly quickly how much more radiant my skin was and
with time the texture of my skin appeared smoother.
I have thoroughly enjoyed using this Vitamin C Serum and would highly
recommend checking it out if you looking to introduce one into your
daily routine, it's well worth the splurge...
DERMALOGICA
NECK FIT CONTOUR SERUM
Here is another Dermalogica serum, but this time its a
specific treatment for the neck.
This firming serum is a skin care workout for your neck and décolleté.
With the help of the roller applicator, this product trains the neck to
 be tighter, smoother, more toned and contoured.
Flex Lift Contour Technology acts like an invisible mesh to immediately
 tighten skin.
Plant-based science and a novel tripeptide deliver Retinol-like results,
 visibly smoothing, firming and toning skin.
This product has been one of my "Beautiful" finds during 2022
and I have been absolutely loving this product since I started using
it at the beginning of November.
(I still have plenty left in my 50ml tube, so the cost per application
 is proving to be pretty good)
This product is a definite keeper, as I have been super impressed with
the visible results and would highly recommend if, like me, you feel
that its time to focus on your neck area.
Let me know in the comments below if you agree or disagree
with any of my selection above...
CLARINS HYDRA QUENCH TINTED MOISTURISER {REVIEW}
I'd completely forgotten that I had reviewed this product back in 2013 as
part of a series of posts on Tinted Moisturisers.
It can't have made too much of an impression back then
otherwise I would have remembered and not re-purchased...
Being 9 years ago it's been through some re- formulation
 and packaging re-tweaking.
I ordered online, so my shade choice (gold) was a bit of a guess and
unfortunately it's too dark.
The Hydra Quench Tinted Moisturiser
is an ultra-fine, melt-in texture, which makes it easy and pleasurable
 to apply.
This tinted moisturiser combines hyaluronic acid and Katafray bark extract
 with mineral pigments to restore the skin's radiance
 and promote a natural-looking healthy glow.
It moisturises continuously, leaves the skin feeling supple, soft
and extremely comfortable.
It successfully brightens the face and ensures a healthy glow
with a nice satin finish.
The inclusion of an SPF is always welcome and this product provides a
 an SPF 15 to protect against UV rays (100% mineral protection),
 pollution and free radicals.
It's Dermatologically tested and Non-comedogenic.
Suitable for all skin types and all ages and it currently in SA only
comes in 3 shade options:
Peach
Gold
Bronze
(There were more options available, which leads me to think
 this product could be in the process of being phased out)
Unfortunately the shade for me was too dark and had an orange
tinge which wasn't a good look.
However if I apply very lightly or mix in with a light foundation
I'm able to wear, especially on those stay at home no make-up kinda days,
just to use up and not waste the product.
The coverage is also more than you would expect from a tinted
moisturiser. Unfortunately it's not a product I would re-purchase or
recommend.
If you are a Clarins fan THOUGH and looking for one product that
provides radiance, moisture, an SPF and light coverage then this may be
 a product to try, as it does deliver on ALL.
BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW {NOVEMBER 2022}
I have a lovely variety of products to review for you in the
coming weeks.
I have been on the look out for a suitable neck treatment and I
have finally found one.
I am revisiting a Clarins product that I reviewed from a sample
back in 2012/13 and it
 wouldn't be an "Under Review" post without some form of
lip balm/treatment and finally I have a body scrub.
1.
LUSH
SNOW FAIRY
LIP JELLY
Lush have just launched their Christmas offering on
their website and stock will be in-stores next week.
I bought several Snow Fairy products in Venice recently
and I had to have this Lip Jelly, as it combines 2 of
my obsessions - Lip Balms and all things Snow fairy.
(I do see it on the LUSH SA website R120)
*NOW POSTED*
2.
CLARINS
HYDRA QUENCH
TINTED MOISTURISER
I'm revisiting this product, as I did write a review several years
ago, it will be my Tinted Moisturiser for the summer.
It will be interesting to re-read what I thought back then and write
a new review, as I do think it's had a re-formulation over the time.
So check back in the new year to read my updated review.
3.
RITUALS
THE RITUAL OF HAMMAM
DEEP PURIFYING HOT BODY SCRUB
Another purchase, whilst on my travels, is this Body Scrub
from RITUALS.
Being a fan of a good body scrub I'm looking forward to
putting this one from the Ritual Of Hammam to the test.
4.
DERMALOGICA
NECK FIT
CONTOUR SERUM
Despite taking all of my skin care products down my neck
and onto my décolleté, I have been considering purchasing,
 for sometime, a specific cream/treatment for this delicate area.
After some research I opted for this neck serum from Dermalogica.
CLARINS EXFOLIATING BODY SCRUB FOR SMOOTH SKIN {REVIEW}
I have been using a generous 50ml deluxe sample size of the
Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub for Smooth Skin
 for the past couple of weeks.
The Clarins Gommage Exfoliant was the very first body scrub I
used back in my salon days, I loved it back then and with
several re-formulations and tweaks I hope it doesn't disappoint.
It's just as important to exfoliate the body, as it is the face
 and I'm a great fan of both.
The essential first step to achieving a firm, smoother and more
youthful-looking body is to use an Exfoliating Body scrub weekly.
I personally enjoy a granular/sugar type body exfoliator, one that
gives you that feeling of having had a good body scrub and one that
leaves your skin soft, smooth and invigorated.
This refreshing, moisturising and exfoliating treatment
(with smoothing Natural Bamboo Powders and a hint of ginger)
'rubs away' rough, flaky surface cells and impurities,
giving skin a sleek new start.
Also, prepares skin for the treatment that follows.
Other key ingredients include Moringa and Shea Butter.
As with most body exfoliators or scrubs application is easy:
1.
Wet the skin and warm the product between the palms of your hands.
2.
Use gentle upward, circular motions to apply the product to your legs,
 and arms working upwards to finish at the centre of your body.
3.
Rinse of with water
This body scrub didn't disappoint as it delivers well on polishing and
 softening the skin. Of course it stimulates skin cell renewal
and restores firmness and diminishes the look of flaky skin.
It also leaves a smooth skin that's prepped for any body lotion or
cream you may apply and as with the face you must follow with
a moisturising product to help repair that all important hydro-lipid film
or skin barrier.
This fragrance free body scrub is easy to use and more importantly
rinse off, as it doesn't leave any product behind on the skin.
CLARINS TOTAL EYE CONTOUR GEL {REVIEW}
Using this eye product again after so many years has been a real
trip down a "Beauty Memory Lane".
Clarins Total Eye Contour Gel
was the first treatment eye product I ever used at the tender age of
 around 19 or 20.
Its obviously been re-formulated several times since the 1980's version,
which originally came in a little white pot and was fondly referred to
simply as the Clarins Blue Eye Gel.
It was a beautiful cornflower blue colour and offered the eyes instant
soothing and calming. It was also promoted to help reduce puffiness
and dark circles and it was a product that I loved and religiously applied
both morning and night for many, many years.
Other more anti-aging eye products came into my life and over time
 I had forgotten completely about the Clarins Blue Eye Gel,
 that was until recently when I thought I would re-acquaint myself
with this once much loved favourite of mine.
I was happy to see that the products features and benefits had
remained basically the same as this cooling, non-oily eye gel is still
formulated to minimise the look of puffiness and dark circles.
It's refreshing, hydrating and resting the delicate skin around eyes.
 Containing purifying plant extracts and caffeine,
 it helps to erase signs of tiredness: the eye contour is toned
and its radiance enhanced.
Active ingredients include Aloe Vera that's know for its moisturising
& soothing properties, Chamomile for its relaxing & soothing, but
it doesn't contain cornflower anymore, but I'm happy its still
the iconic blue colour.
This gel is suitable for all eye types, even sensitive eyes.
It can be used both morning & evening, which I would recommend
if you are younger and looking for an early eye care product,
but for the more mature, I recommend slotting it into your morning
skin care routine, whilst leaving the more active and anti-ageing products
 for evening use.
I'm so glad I've re-discovered the blue eye gel or should
I say the current version, as it's just as refreshing, cooling and de-puffing
as I remember and a product I would highly recommend and one
that I mustn't forget about again....
SUNDAY SAMPLE
 I've been on a bit of a roll during September with my
SUNDAY SAMPLE
posts and especially with CLARINS samples.
I will be trying out this deluxe 30ml size
EXFOLIATING BODY SCRUB FOR SMOOTH SKIN
over the next couple of weeks.
Being that person that exfoliates weekly I need to give this product
longer than a week, so expect to see my full review in the
 next 3-4 weeks.
I do love a good body scrub/exfoliator and have been using one
weekly for what seems like a life-time.
One of my all time favourites is the Tonic Body Polisher from Clarins
So I'm excited to try this and compare the two and let you know
in a future post.
CLARINS HYDRA-ESSENTIAL MOISTURE REPLENISHING LIP BALM {REVIEW}
I have been using the
CLARINS MOISTURE REPLENISHING LIP BALM
whilst I have been traveling during September and as I'm sure many of
you will agree, travel always takes its toll on our lips, so I was curious
to see how this one from Clarins would fare.
Clarins products very rarely fail on the performance front and
I was really hoping that this would deliver on all of its claims.
It's a replenishing lip care for dry and damaged lips.
Enriched with comforting blue lotus wax, this balm's rich melt-in texture
promises to protect, hydrates and nourish lips, restoring their natural
 rosy glow and plumped appearance.
Day: apply to the lips as needed, either on its own or before lipstick.
Night: apply a thick layer to the lips for intensive repair.
It's another winner from CLARINS and it certainly didn't disappoint.
This creamy gel delivers immediate long lasting comfort to
dry chapped lips.
Its rich melting texture does protect, moisturise and nourish
 very well. If your lips are super dry then a thick layer
overnight works wonders to replenish and rebalance.
The soft pink tint in the gel does offers a slight rosy glow to the lips,
which is more flattering than the clear gels,
however I'm not 100% sold on the plumping effect.
I'm not usually a fan of a slanted tip applicator on lip balms, yet
this seemed to perform better than others that I've tried.
it works well over any lipstick shade, but particularly well over
the drier matte finishes.
It was easy and quick to use and was the perfect shape and size
 for my bag making it a good travel companion and I would
 highly recommend.
