THE RITUAL OF SAKURA SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER {REVIEW}

I've been enjoying several products from
 RITUALS - The Ritual of Ayurveda
for a couple of years now and I've secretly longed for one of their
 beautiful advent calendars, finally in 2022 I made it happen
and it certainly did not disappoint in any way.
Containing 24 assorted products it really allows you to get to try
a variety of what RITUALS has to offer,
both the Ritual of Sakura 50ml Shampoo & 50ml Conditioner was
part of the calendar and whilst they wouldn't be two products
that I would have personally bought it was lovely to try the combo.

The 2 key
ingredients of the Ritual of Sakura:

CHERRY BLOSSOM
For the Japanese, Cherry Blossom has symbolised the rebirth of nature
and purity since ancient times.
 The delicate fragrance is wonderfully relaxing.

RICE MILK
Throughout Asia, rice is a symbol of abundance, happiness, and fertility.
Rice Milk extract makes your skin soft and supple, and gives it a healthy glow.

Both products are infused with wheat protein and chia seed for protection
and a volume boost, without build-up or extra weight and rice extract
 and macadamia seed oil to help restore your hair’s moisture balance
and strengthen it.

SAKURA SHAMPOO
 The Ritual of Sakura nourishing shampoo offers brilliantly healthy,
shiny and voluminous locks from root to tip.
• volumising
• 90% natural origin, 10% lab made to ensure product texture and stability.
• mild for your hair and scalp

SAKURA CONDITIONER
Nourishing and detangling, this conditioner is suitable for everyday use
 and for all hair types, but it works especially well on dull or fine locks.
• volumising
• 93% natural origin, 7% lab made to ensure product texture and stability.
• mild for your hair and scalp

Both products are delicately fragranced with a combination
of Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk, which was very pleasant.
The shampoo had a luxurious feel creamy texture and cleaned my hair well,
whilst the conditioner also did a good job of nourishing and detangling
without overloading my locks.

Whilst this was a lovely combo, but it wasn't anything remarkable,
so I won't be looking for a "Cosmetic Mule" to bring these two hair products
 to me here in South Africa (we don't have Rituals in SA)
That being said if you are a fan of all of the products in
The Ritual of Sakura, and it's an extensive range,
then this duo will enhance your overall feeling a wellbeing,
relaxation and calm.

LIVING PROOF RESTORE PROTECTIVE SPRAY {REVIEW}

This will be the fourth hair product that I'm reviewing from the
US brand Living Proof and I have really enjoyed the previous ones,
the Restore Mask Treatment, Perfect Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment
 and their Perfect Day Dry Shampoo, which is my
absolute favourite dry shampoo of all time and well worth a purchase
if you can get your hands on one.
I will leave my reviews linked here

LIVING PROOF RESTORE PERFECTING SPRAY

Restore Perfecting Spray is a featherweight leave-in product to make dry,
damaged hair look and feel strong, smooth, soft with natural shine.

The Restore Perfecting Spray forms part of a larger Restore Range of products
 and they can be used by dry damaged hair whether it be straight, wavy
or curly and on all hair textures thick, medium or fine.

This spray offers so many benefits for the hair thanks to the following:

Healthy Hair Molecule:
Smooths and softens hair while minimizing breakage from wet detangling.

Plant extracts + slip-enhancing detangling actives:
 Reduce the mechanical stress that can lead to breakage.

Beet-derived heat protection:
Helps protect hair through styling up to 400° F/200° C

Time-released conditioning:
 Provides lasting conditioning so hair stays soft and smooth.

Marine-derived UV protection:
Keeps hair protected from the sun.

 Spray from roots to ends on either damp or dry hair prior to using
your heat stylers.

Personally I use a heat protector/de-tangling product whether I'm drying
my hair or just leaving it to dry naturally and I found this particular one to
provide so much more for my hair than any previous ones that I've tried.

It's pleasantly fragranced, the spray works well and doesn't drench your
hair, but best of all it leaves your hair feeling lightweight, beautifully soft
 and smooth.

Would I buy this product again?
YES I would, but I'm not going to stress too much to get it from overseas
(unfortunately Living Proof is not available in South Africa).
On the other hand the Dry Shampoo is by far the best that I have
used and that is a product that I would stress about not having,
hence why I have a couple of back-ups in my cupboard.

On the whole Living Proof is a hair care brand that I've been loving
and with so many products in their range I have already earmarked
a couple more that I would love to try...

Let me know in the comments below if you have ever used any of the
Living Proof products.

CHRISTOPHE ROBIN CLEANSING PURIFYING SCRUB WITH SEA SALT #TBT REVIEW

I'm only throwing it back to March 2021 with today's
Throwback Thursday review.
The prices thankfully have remained the same.
P.S. I still love this product....

~~~~~~
Contrary to what the name suggests,
Christophe Robin's
Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt
is a product for hair and not the face.
In short its a scalp exfoliator and shampoo that cleanses, removes buildup,
and soothes sensitive, flaky, and oily scalps and its the type of product
that I have been wanting to use for time.
I believe that our scalps need to be exfoliated regularly just as we exfoliate
 our face and bodies, but finding this type of product has been difficult
especially here in South Africa, so I'm very happy to have had chance to
experience this one from Christophe Robin.
To read my other Christophe Robin Product Reviews
The cleansing purifying scrub with sea salt is ideal as a detox treatment as it
cleanses, purifies and restores balance to sensitive or oily scalps.
It can also be used as a post-colour treatment to sooth tingling
and itching sensations.
I wrote about my own Hair Detox many years ago, as I personally need
to put my hair and scalp through a regular detox to rid it of a chemical,
product and skin build-up.
The Cleansing Purifying Scrub by Christophe Robin forms part of a
3 product range that is aimed to purify and detox the hair and scalp.
The scrub contains large grains of mineral-rich sea salt, which are very evident
 in the white paste and salt being a natural exfoliant you can certainly feel it
 both cleanse the scalp and stimulate the blood circulation and it's a wonderful
invigorating sensation that leaves the scalp and hair feeling incredibly clean.
In addition, any chemical traces of colour and impurities are naturally removed.
Other 100% plant-based ingredients in this scrub ensure that even after rinsing,
 the scalp is still hydrated, soothed and itch-free.
Within 24 hours of use, the moisture content of the scalp is back in balance
and irritations are considerably reduced and these effects can last for up to
four days after treatment.
This Christophe Robin scrub is free from parabens, silicones and colorants.
Recommended for Sensitive scalps, Oily scalps, Men & women.
Can be used once or twice a week as a shampoo
Detox treatment:
Apply the equivalent of a tablespoon on damp hair.
Gently massage the scalp, add a trickle of water then lather, concentrating
 on the nape of the neck.
Rinse thoroughly and apply a nourishing treatment on the lengths
and ends depending on your hair's condition.
For a more intense effect: leave on for about two minutes before rinsing.
Post-colour soothing treatment:
Ideal for eliminating chemical residues, which have become embedded
 on the scalp.
Instantly soothes itching and calms irritation.
I'm 100% sold on this product, as it left my hair and scalp feeling incredibly
fresh, clean and more importantly for me, my hair felt light, almost
weightless, which has never happened previously with any other hair products.
As a shampoo the foam is rich, thick and voluminous, again like nothing
 I've EVER tried.
It is without doubt a unique product and I cannot recommend
this product enough, especially if you suffer from any of the above
 hair or scalp issues.
I also believe the pricing of this type of product is very good as the entry
size of 75mls will give you plenty of deep cleansing washes.
I'm currently using this product once a week, however I'm sure I will
drop back to once every other week in the future.
As a heads up this product has already been added to my
Top Hair & Body Product list for 2021
thats how much my hair loves it...
INOAR +AMOR -SODIO TREATMENT MASK {REVIEW}
 A couple of days ago I reviewed the Shampoo of the same name
to read my full review and now it's the turn of the Treatment Hair Mask,
which is also 100% VEGAN
INOAR +AMOR -SODIO TREATMENT MASK
The key Active Ingredients Tribulus Terrestris, a herb rich in vitamin C
  and Banana Flower Oil, which is a natural source of Potassium and are
both found in the shampoo and are carried through into the conditioning
hair treatment mask.
For this intensive treatment, the mask contains more concentrated
 natural oils for immediate and deep nutrition.
After my first application I wasn't overly impressed, so on the 2nd
use I increased the amount I applied and left it on longer than the
recommended 3 minutes and WOW what it difference that change made.
I actually used the mask last night and my hair, as always after using,
feels incredibly soft, shiny and fuller.
It leaves no oily coating on the hair shaft, so the hair doesn't
feel weighed down with product and now that I have my
 correct dosage and timings worked out, my hair smells & feels great
 every time and my hair appears to be truly loving this mask.
INOAR +AMOR -SODIO SHAMPOO {REVIEW}
I was introduced to the Brazilian Hair Care brand INOAR a couple of years ago
and I have tried and reviewed a couple of their products all with
 great success.
If you would like to read my other INOAR reviews Click Here
Towards the end of 2021 I was very kindly gifted 2 products from their
newly launched range +Amor -Sodio, which translated means
More Love Less Salt
+Amor -Sodio is a revolutionary range of sulphate free products.
I have been using the INOAR +AMOR -SODIO SHAMPOO
 now for several weeks and I will bring
you my review on the 2nd product that I have been testing very soon.
Harnessing the incredible power of plants and nature, INOAR have formulated
 a sulphate-free range that actually foams!
The key Active Ingredients are Tribulus Terrestris & Banana Flower Oil
Tribulus Terrestris
is rich in vitamin C and saponins – a unique compound derived from plants,
which has a foaming quality when it interacts with water.
The name is derived from Latin “sapon”, which means soap.
Banana Flower Oil
 which is a natural source of Potassium, which is a powerful scalp regulator
 and hair booster.
The combination of these two unique ingredients substitutes sodium
(salt / sulphates) and cleanses the scalp, providing healthier, soft,
shiny and manageable hair.
Both ingredients are excellent facilitators in soothing the scalp, eliminating
 dandruff and helping with skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis & scabies.
These compounds further have the benefits of slowing down hair loss
and boosting hair growth.
I have tried a Sulphate free shampoo some years ago and it was so
disappointing that it actually put me off trying one again, so I did have some
reservations re this one.
I could tell from the first massage into my hair and scalp that this shampoo
was totally different.
It was gentle on the scalp and strands, yet super foamy and cleansing,
which I enjoy!
It rinses easily and left my hair feeling clean, soft and manageable...
Oh! and smelling great.
I also like the fact that it slows down hair loss.
This range works well on all DRY hair types, including chemically treated
 and curly hair types, so if you are looking to change your haircare products
to more gentle sulphate free, this would be a good option.
KÉRASTASE GENESIS DEFENSE THERMIQUE BLOW DRY PRIMER REVIEW
This is the 3rd product from the KÉRASTASE GENESIS collection gift set
and I'm sure this set is still available.(R990)
This range of haircare products has been specifically formulated to help reduce
hair fall due to breakage.
Genesis is composed of specially selected ingredients to help reduce the problem
 of hair fall. Enriched with Edelweiss Native Cells, ginger root and Aminexil 1.5%
 to help reduce hair-fall due to breakage, whilst also containing hints of bergamot zest, cedar, lime, basil, rose and other inspired notes to contribute to its signature fragrance. Your hair does smell divine when using any of these products alone,
but when using all 3 products together your hair is beautifully fragranced for
days after using.
Hair falling out is an increasingly common problem for women, up to 70%
of women suffer some level of hair-fall at some point during their life but it’s important to remember this is not a life sentence.
There are two potential reasons why your hair maybe falling out:
 either it could be a reaction to external aggressors,
or
it’s a progressive process at the root linked to the hair's natural cycle.
We tend to lose between 50 - 100 strands of hair per day, so there is
nothing to worry about.
Your hair is constantly renewing.
However, if your hair is very fragile, actions like frequent brushing
or friction from a towel can sensitize it even more.
Elastic bands can cause damage too so be gentle.
This past week I have posted my full reviews on both the shampoo
and conditioner from the same range.
The one I enjoyed and sadly the other was not for me or my hair.
I highly recommend that you read my 2 previous reviews.
To read these review click on the Pink Links below
DEFENSE THERMIQUE is an Anti hair-fall intense fortifying blow-dry fluid
for weakened hair, prone to falling due to breakage.
Enriched with Edelweiss Native Cells, Ginger Root & Aquaxyl this thermique
provides anti-breakage protection, up to 88% immediate hydration* and 24hr protection against frizz* without weighing down the hair.
Its detangling action helps to prevent hair-fall due to breakage from brushing. Protects from heat up to 220°C*.
I have used, for many years, various types blow dry/heat protecting products
and it's a product that I am never without.
My major concern, having highlighted hair, is the dreaded task of detangling my hair post wash. I'm also very aware that this is when the hair is extremely
vulnerable to breakage, so I always look for a product that easily detangles
and provides good heat protection whilst blow drying and straightening my
already fragile hair.
The DEFENSE THERMIQUE comes in an easy to control and apply spray
bottle and the milky formula can be applied 2 ways:
ON TOWEL-DRIED HAIR:
Take 2 to 4 pumps, depending on the lengths and thickness of the hair.
Spread down to tips, then comb to evenly distribute the product.
Proceed to blow-dry or air dry.
ON DRY HAIR:
Apply to dry hair after blowdrying or airdrying as a finishing touch to tame
frizz and boost shine. Style as desired.
I liked this product very much and it's one that I would recommend,
as it made detangling a breeze and my hair felt nourished and soft whilst
not feeling coated or weighed down and then there is that amazing fragrance.
I have been using these products for 6 weeks or more now, so therefore
I cannot say whether the range is causing less hair fall due breakage or not
as I feel that's a really difficult call to make.
However I will continue to use all 3 products, despite not liking the one
and I'll give you feedback in a Friday Follow-Up post once I have
finished them all.
So there you have it , all 3 products have been reviewed and whilst 2 get a
 thumbs up from me, sadly the one doesn't.
Is there a need in the market place for a fortifying system that's professionally formulated to strengthen hair and reduce hair breakage?
Yes there is and the whole range consists of up to 10 products
(dependant on the country) that all work together to strengthen, protect
 and condition the hair, whilst reducing the risk of hair fall due to breakage.
If excessive breakage is a daily hair challenge you face and your budget allows
then speak to your KÉRASTASE salon hairdresser for product advice,
as I think its worth a try...
