BIODERMA PHOTODERM MAX SPF 50+ TINTED AQUAFLUIDE #TBT REVIEW

3 years later and this product, that was a new formulation back then,
 is still my favourite tinted SPF and I tend to
use it in lieu of a light foundation or tinted moisture during
the height of Summer.
I even go as far as to apply the tinted SPF with a make-up sponge and then
continue with some bronzer for that extra glow and bronzed look to my otherwise
pale face.

~~~~~~
I'm sure, I'm not alone in the disappointment I feel when I discover
that a product I use and believe in, has been changed.
Worse than seeing the words "New" "Improved" "Reformulated" is finding out
that a product has been discontinued!
I understand that the cosmetic research companies are constantly on a
quest to improve on existing formulations etc., but I find it all a bit of pain,
as it often sends the consumer on a hunt for a replacement perfect lip colour,
light textured night cream or that flattering shade of blush.
I've used the Bioderma Photoderm MAX SPF50+ Tinted Ultra Fliud
for several years and guess what...it happened,
they discontinued my fave tinted face sun protection.
Over the years I have tried several other similar products,
but the Bioderma has always remained my no.1.
They have a great reputation for offering a solution tailored to your needs
to protect you from the harmful effects of the sun.
Depending on your skin type, the amount of sunshine (season, time of day)
and the
geographic conditions (altitude, latitude), Photoderm have a product for you.
Bioderma kindly sent me a tube of its replacement
Photoderm MAX SPF 50+ Tinted Aquafluid
to review and I have to admit I was a little hesitant, as so often the "new improved"
or replacements don't ever quite match up to the original versions.
Available in 3 tints I opted this time for the Golden shade over the
 light and natural option.
I enjoy a tinted sunscreen, as it just gives me that much needed colour to an
otherwise ghostly white face and I'm always on the look out for a shade
that would match the tone of my much darker body.
Bioderma Photoderm Aquafluid SPF 50+ is a light weight maximum
sun protection for the face.
It's a perfect protection for skin which is sensitive or intolerant to any kind of
sun exposure i.e.very fair skin with freckles.
Ideal for skin subjected to maximum sun intensity during the heights of snow skiing
and mountaineering etc.
  Photoderm max offers optimum protection against UV rays
(sunburn, sun allergies, etc.) Combined with an internal biological protection,
The exclusive Cellular Bioprotection®* patent activates the natural defences,
protects cells and prevents premature skin ageing.
The Ultra-light extremely fluid texture is very similar with both the old and new,
so there was no difference there, but the most obvious improvement was the
dry down and the finish.The new Oil Free Formula of the Aquafluid leaves
no oily film, has a beautiful mattifying finish and is dry to the touch,
which I loved.
The golden tint was perfect, as it evened out my complexion and covered
minor blemishes etc.and it matched more with my body skin tone.
Its also:
Hypoallergenic
Non-comedogenic
 Photostable
Fragrance free
and
Water resistant.
Suitable for all skin types, but especially ideal for combination to oily skin.
As always its important to apply several times during sun exposure and don't
forget to re-apply frequently, before and after swimming,
 rubbing and sports activities.
I must admit this "New" "Improved" version does deliver a very comfortable, easy
wearing, dry finish, very high sun protection and I'm sold.
So it's a case of "Out with the Old" and "In with the New", as the
Bioderma Photoderm MAX SPF 50 Tinted Aquafluide
has found a permanent place in my sunscreen wardrobe...
MY TOP 12 SKINCARE PRODUCTS 2020 {PART 2}
Here is Part 2 of
My Top 12 Skincare Products of 2020
For this post I have literally taken my favourite 12 skincare products
that I have tried and tested during 2020 and they're ones that I
highly, highly recommend if you are looking for skincare recommendations.
Every year the selection of my fave products varies tremendously, however
 during 2020 my choices have been fairly well balanced, as I seem to have
a good mix of cleansing products/exfoliators/face masks/moisturisers
and eye products.
If you missed my Part 1 of my Top 12 Skincare Products of 2020
then you can catch up Here
For my full reviews on all of these products just click on the
Pink Links below
1.
BIODERMA
SENSIBIO H20
MAKE-UP REMOVING
MICELLE SOLUTION
By my own admission I've had a couple of regrets in 2020
re certain products that I wished I had tried earlier
and the BIODERMA Micelle Water was one of them.
This pioneer product in terms of Micellar Waters, celebrated its 25th Birthday
 in 2020 and that's how long it has taken me to give this now iconic beauty
product a try and it has been my loss.
I have found myself reaching for this one, more often than any other
I have used, as it's so easy to pick up and cleanse my skin in the morning
and again as a first cleanse in the evening.
This is a must have product in your beauty routine, as it truly outshines
or should I say Out Cleanses the rest.
2.
OSKIA
RENAISSANCE
CLEANSING GEL
I've never been one to get too hyped up about those "Hyped Up" beauty
products, as often the product reviews and endorsements are paid
for and sometimes
are not a true reflection of the product. However this is not the case with the
 Cleansing Gel from the UK brand OSKIA.
Formulated to purify, revitalise and strengthen the skin,
the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is a unique illuminating gel-to-oil facial cleanser,
that works effortlessly to remove makeup and impurities and can
 be used on all skin types.
If you are a fan of gel cleansers then you will no doubt enjoy the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel, as it's a hard working cleanser that just gets on
with the job at hand, without leaving your skin feeling or looking like its
had a workout and I'm now officially a FAN...
1.
SVR
VITAMIN C ANTI-OXIDANT
FOAM MASQUE
Being the first product that I'm trying from the French skincare brand SVR
was a peeling treatment and it got me excited.
This micro-peeling creamy foam is a cocktail of wonderful active ingredients
to awaken any dull, tired skin and boost the skins radiance.
I have been reaching for this foaming beauty every time, as it
delivers on all that it claims.
It's quick, pleasurable to use and leaves the skin looking brighter, smoother
and comfortable, which isn't always the case post exfoliation.
So if you are looking to change up your exfoliating product, with the
emphasis on radiance then this is one, without doubt, to consider.
2.
EXUVIANCE
TRIPLE MICRODERMABRASION
FACE POLISH
*During 2020 this product had a packaging/name & formulation overhaul
and whilst this is the older version on the product, I am hoping to
try the new formulation this year and then write my review on the newer one,
but for now this version was one of my top 12 "faves" 2020.
 I am assured that the product remains very similar, just more effective*
As you should all know by now exfoliation is a key product to a good,
effective anti-ageing skincare routine.
This was another 1st for me in 2020 and this product came highly recommended
by Tori from KissBlush&Tell.
EXUVIANCE hails from the US and their
Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish is a completely
innovative exfoliator that masters a triple-action approach
to skin transformation in a single yet powerful treatment.
It contains a unique blend of physical, chemical and enzyme rejuvenators.
Again highly recommend if you want to take home exfoliation up a notch.
LUMENE
NORDIC HYDRA
24H MOISTURIZER
LUMENE is a Finnish brand and having only ever used 3 of their
products I find myself including 2 on my Top 12 list and unfortunately
the third appeared on my Top 3 Disappointing list To view that list
However thats not deterred me from hopefully using and reviewing more
 products in the future.
I have completed fallen in love with this cream that
absolutely delivers on all it promises and I would go as far to say that this
super hydrating moisturiser is one of, if not, the best hydrating products
I have ever tried and it's been a real bonus in
my skincare regime and my skin has responded well to it.
HUXLEY
SECRET OF SAHARA
GLOW AWAKENING CREAM
This was another brand/product that Tori from KissBlush&Tell raved about
and my 1st Korean skincare product to try, yes I was late to the Korean
Beauty party also...
The Secret Sahara range has been formulated to be rich in antioxidants that moisturise and brighten dull, lack lustre, stressed skins, whilst offering
protection from pollution and the
Glow Awakening Cream appears to be the star of the show.
Truthfully this cream didn't WoW me on the glow factor front as much as
 I thought it would, but it does give the skin a dewy appearance which I liked.
I've thoroughly enjoyed applying it as part of my morning routine, as it's just
 one of those comfortable, reliable, all round everyday, well priced moisturisers
 and as my first K Beauty product, I'm happy I dipped my toe
into the Korean waters and I think I may be dipping more toes into the water.
I would, without hesitation recommend this cream and re-purchase
it again myself...
I do hope that you have enjoyed a look back at my
Top 12 Skincare Products of 2020 and that this steers you into the right
direction, especially if you are looking to purchase some new skin products.
Let me know in the comments below if I have included any of your
personal favourite products.
BIODERMA PHOTODERM MAX SPF 50+ TINTED ULTRA-FLUID SUNCARE {REVIEW}
(Originally written in 2014)
 During the summer months I always opt, as should we all, for a high SPF and it has to be one that is not only effective, but also it needs to sit comfortably with both my moisturizer and foundation.
 Several years ago I wrote about the Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50 To read review but during the winter months I still use an SPF of 30, as Durban still experiences average winter temperatures of 20c and a daily average of 7 hours of sunshine.
Bioderma Photoderm 50+ MAX Tinted
This summer I haven't opted to try a different brand, but I rather chose to stick with the same Bioderma product but with a tint. This product is available in 3 shades and I have been using the Clair/light shade for some weeks now.
However this tinted version does have a couple of differences
(besides the obvious tint) to the Bioderma non tinted SPF 50.
The tinted is classed as an Ultra Fluid consistency whereas the "non" tinted is a Fluid, I found a subtle difference and both were easy to apply.
The tinted has a more matte non glossy finish, yet neither leaves your skin feeling oily or looking shiny.
What is great about the tinted is the packaging, as it has a needle point tube, which is a huge help when it comes to controlling the amount of product you dispense and therefore use.
(I wished more products came in this type of tube)
Shade: Clair/Light
It offered me a slight colour, which subtly took my skin from that winter pale to a "hint" of a tint, whilst covering slight blemishes and evening out my complexion.
I especially enjoyed this product on those "no" make-up days.i.e.out walking or lazing around the garden.
Blended
I was concerned that the tint would change or interfere with the shade of my foundation, but all was good and this Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50 sits well with my usual moisturizer and foundation when needed, so I would say that this product for me has been a "success".
 I look forward to a summer of high protection with that all important tint.
This product is:
 Non Comodegenic
Fragrance Free
Hypoallergenic
 Water Resistant
Photo stable
It can be used for all skin types even combination to oily
BIODERMA PHOTODERM MAX 50+ SUN FLUIDE {REVIEW}
Living in Durban, South Africa as I do, it would be "skin suicide" to not use a sunscreen with a high SPF daily. Summer temperatures reach the high 20's to mid 30 degrees centigrade on a continual basis from Mid October through to the end of May, with the sun beating down for a good 8-10 hours a day, so what SPF (sun protection factor) should you opt for?
During the summer I use and always have done, nothing on my face less than an SPF 30+ and in most cases an SPF 50+. I have to admit that I have always used on both myself and my family a specialized sun cream for the face and a different cream or lotion for the rest of the body. I am not one to advocate using one of the mass manufactured sun protection everywhere from top to toe but, after saying this, it is better to use the same product rather than go unprotected and suffer uncomfortable burning and damage to the skin.
For many years I have used the RoC range of sun protection,but unfortunately it is no longer available in South Africa, so I was forced to find an alternative. Bioderma is a pharmacy range and a product line that has always just sat on the peripheries of my skin and sun care radar.
Well.. several weeks ago it made it onto my radar and I purchased my first ever Bioderma product..the Bioderma Photoderm MAX SPF 50+ Sun Fluide.
Bioderma hails from France and their commitment is to work in close partnership with dermatologists. Bioderma commits to developing for them products that respond to the needs and demands of their patients, treating every kind of skin, even the most sensitive. Bioderma is often a skincare range of choice with pharmacists and retailed through pharmacies in France and Europe. (Almost every pharmacy you enter in France will have a retail section of "pharmacy exclusive" skincare ranges, as the first point of call for anyone looking for serious advice and recommendation of products, will be a pharmacist. These pharmacists will be fully trained in the different houses and this knowledge combined with the expertise in pharmacy is a "win win" situation. Unfortunately this is not a system rarely adopted in South Africa)
I opted to try the Boiderma Photoderm MAX Fluide, but there is a cream, milk and a tinted option available and even a powder.
The manufacturers claim that Photoderm MAX Fluid offers Maximum photoprotection for skin intolerant to all types of sunshine, very fair skin with freckles, and skin subjected to maximum sunshine (tropics, high mountains)
 The maximum anti-UVB efficacy and unmatched "extreme anti-UVA" performance ofPhotoderm MAX Fluid safely protect against sunburn, prevent sun intolerance reactions and combat premature cutaneous ageing.
 A major advance against risks of cell damage, its exclusive patented Cellular BIOprotection® complex* provides optimum protection for the skin cells.
 The ultra-light texture of Photoderm MAX Fluid leaves the skin feeling extremely soft. Perfectly colourless when applied, Photoderm MAX Fluid spreads very easily, leaving no oily film or white marks.
 Non-comedogenic, Photoderm MAX Fluid is water-resistant and photostable.
 Photoderm MAX Fluid is fragrance-free and ensures excellent tolerance.
I found this product to be everything that the manufacturers claim especially regarding the easy spread ability and it definitely leaves no oily film, which is often the biggest complaint when it comes to using high SPF sun products.My hubby even enjoys using this product and as you know men hate to use products that leave any oily residue on the skin.
I opted for the Fluide, as we have high humidity in Durban and I felt it would be too much to use the cream in conjunction with my daily anti Ageing moisturizer. However the cream would be an excellent choice in the case of very dry skins or for use in those cold conditions for example snow skiing.
The pricing for the mentioned products vary between R159 - R209 and my next acquisition may well be the tinted version. In fact I may just be tempted to investigate further into their skincare offerings also.
