HUXLEY SECRET OF SAHARA CLEANSING GEL #TBT REVIEW

I reviewed this product 2 years ago and despite enjoying it,
 I haven't re-purchased, in fact I haven't tried any further
HUXLEY products since this review.
If you are a HUXLEY or Korean skincare brand fan and are looking
for a gel cleanser then read on...

~~~~~~
Having used the Huxley Cleansing Gel for the past week this gel-based cleanser lathers beautifully forming silky, ultra-fine bubbles that gently clean, leaving the skin feeling soft, hydrated and comfortable.
Key ingredients include;
 Cactus Extract and Sahara Prickly Pear Seed Oil
 which provide moisturisation and antioxidant benefits.
Hyaluronic Acid
retains water for superior skin moisturisation.
Centella Asiatica Extract
 is an anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and soothing ingredient
 Citrus extract
cleans and smooths the skin.
 Betula Alba Bud Extract
 soothes the skin.
Suitable for normal, combination and oily skin types.
The cleanser comes with a pump dispenser, which I find always makes
life easier and you use in the normal way, small amount into the palm
of your hand, mix with water and work into a lather, gently massage
on the face and rinse with lukewarm water.
It efficiently removed my make-up, when used as a pre cleanse
yet left my skin feeling soft (thanks to the inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid
 when used as a morning/evening cleanser.
It's fragranced with the clean fresh signature scent of the
Secret of Sahara range, which I like very much.
I found this gentle cleanser, on my normal to dry skin, to be ideal for
use during our hot humid summer, however I personally wouldn't use
during the drier winter months.
 All products are vegan-friendly, Dermatologically tested, hypoallergenic
and Paraban free.
This is my second review on products from HUXLEY and so far I'm
enjoying this Korean brand and I'm pleasantly impressed on all counts.
MY TOP 12 SKINCARE PRODUCTS 2020 {PART 2}
Here is Part 2 of
My Top 12 Skincare Products of 2020
For this post I have literally taken my favourite 12 skincare products
that I have tried and tested during 2020 and they're ones that I
highly, highly recommend if you are looking for skincare recommendations.
Every year the selection of my fave products varies tremendously, however
 during 2020 my choices have been fairly well balanced, as I seem to have
a good mix of cleansing products/exfoliators/face masks/moisturisers
and eye products.
If you missed my Part 1 of my Top 12 Skincare Products of 2020
then you can catch up Here
For my full reviews on all of these products just click on the
Pink Links below
1.
BIODERMA
SENSIBIO H20
MAKE-UP REMOVING
MICELLE SOLUTION
By my own admission I've had a couple of regrets in 2020
re certain products that I wished I had tried earlier
and the BIODERMA Micelle Water was one of them.
This pioneer product in terms of Micellar Waters, celebrated its 25th Birthday
 in 2020 and that's how long it has taken me to give this now iconic beauty
product a try and it has been my loss.
I have found myself reaching for this one, more often than any other
I have used, as it's so easy to pick up and cleanse my skin in the morning
and again as a first cleanse in the evening.
This is a must have product in your beauty routine, as it truly outshines
or should I say Out Cleanses the rest.
2.
OSKIA
RENAISSANCE
CLEANSING GEL
I've never been one to get too hyped up about those "Hyped Up" beauty
products, as often the product reviews and endorsements are paid
for and sometimes
are not a true reflection of the product. However this is not the case with the
 Cleansing Gel from the UK brand OSKIA.
Formulated to purify, revitalise and strengthen the skin,
the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is a unique illuminating gel-to-oil facial cleanser,
that works effortlessly to remove makeup and impurities and can
 be used on all skin types.
If you are a fan of gel cleansers then you will no doubt enjoy the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel, as it's a hard working cleanser that just gets on
with the job at hand, without leaving your skin feeling or looking like its
had a workout and I'm now officially a FAN...
1.
SVR
VITAMIN C ANTI-OXIDANT
FOAM MASQUE
Being the first product that I'm trying from the French skincare brand SVR
was a peeling treatment and it got me excited.
This micro-peeling creamy foam is a cocktail of wonderful active ingredients
to awaken any dull, tired skin and boost the skins radiance.
I have been reaching for this foaming beauty every time, as it
delivers on all that it claims.
It's quick, pleasurable to use and leaves the skin looking brighter, smoother
and comfortable, which isn't always the case post exfoliation.
So if you are looking to change up your exfoliating product, with the
emphasis on radiance then this is one, without doubt, to consider.
2.
EXUVIANCE
TRIPLE MICRODERMABRASION
FACE POLISH
*During 2020 this product had a packaging/name & formulation overhaul
and whilst this is the older version on the product, I am hoping to
try the new formulation this year and then write my review on the newer one,
but for now this version was one of my top 12 "faves" 2020.
 I am assured that the product remains very similar, just more effective*
As you should all know by now exfoliation is a key product to a good,
effective anti-ageing skincare routine.
This was another 1st for me in 2020 and this product came highly recommended
by Tori from KissBlush&Tell.
EXUVIANCE hails from the US and their
Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish is a completely
innovative exfoliator that masters a triple-action approach
to skin transformation in a single yet powerful treatment.
It contains a unique blend of physical, chemical and enzyme rejuvenators.
Again highly recommend if you want to take home exfoliation up a notch.
LUMENE
NORDIC HYDRA
24H MOISTURIZER
LUMENE is a Finnish brand and having only ever used 3 of their
products I find myself including 2 on my Top 12 list and unfortunately
the third appeared on my Top 3 Disappointing list To view that list
However thats not deterred me from hopefully using and reviewing more
 products in the future.
I have completed fallen in love with this cream that
absolutely delivers on all it promises and I would go as far to say that this
super hydrating moisturiser is one of, if not, the best hydrating products
I have ever tried and it's been a real bonus in
my skincare regime and my skin has responded well to it.
HUXLEY
SECRET OF SAHARA
GLOW AWAKENING CREAM
This was another brand/product that Tori from KissBlush&Tell raved about
and my 1st Korean skincare product to try, yes I was late to the Korean
Beauty party also...
The Secret Sahara range has been formulated to be rich in antioxidants that moisturise and brighten dull, lack lustre, stressed skins, whilst offering
protection from pollution and the
Glow Awakening Cream appears to be the star of the show.
Truthfully this cream didn't WoW me on the glow factor front as much as
 I thought it would, but it does give the skin a dewy appearance which I liked.
I've thoroughly enjoyed applying it as part of my morning routine, as it's just
 one of those comfortable, reliable, all round everyday, well priced moisturisers
 and as my first K Beauty product, I'm happy I dipped my toe
into the Korean waters and I think I may be dipping more toes into the water.
I would, without hesitation recommend this cream and re-purchase
it again myself...
I do hope that you have enjoyed a look back at my
Top 12 Skincare Products of 2020 and that this steers you into the right
direction, especially if you are looking to purchase some new skin products.
Let me know in the comments below if I have included any of your
personal favourite products.
HUXLEY SECRET OF SAHARA CREAM : GLOW AWAKENING {REVIEW}
Huxley is the first Korean skincare brand that I have ever tried any product from
and by my own admission I have and always will be a lover of European skincare, especially the French brands.
That being said I'm open to sailing into new skin care waters and Korean
Beauty has lots to offer, so this is me dipping my toe in...
Huxley is a contemporary skincare brand from South Korea.
Their formulations respect the skin barrier with minimalist, plant-derived ingredients.
The key ingredient found in all Huxley products is Sahara Prickly Pear Seed Oil,
a desert cactus and real wonder of nature.
It contains unique phytochemicals that provide intensive moisturisation
due to its excellent ability to retain water.
Huxley products are expertly crafted with elegant and sophisticated formulations that are a pleasure to use. They are manufactured at a cutting-edge facility
 in South Korea and preserved within high-quality packaging.
All products are vegan-friendly, Dermatologically tested, hypoallergenic
and Paraben free
The Huxley Secret of Sahara Cream
 Glow Awakening
was the cream that I had heard most rave reviews about and it sounded like
a product that my skin and I would enjoy.
The Secret Sahara range has been formulated to be rich in antioxidants that moisturise and brighten dull, lack lustre, stressed skins, whilst offering
protection from pollution and the
Glow Awakening Cream
appears to be the star of the show.
I found this cream to be a light-medium weight texture that not only had
a very pleasant clean, fresh fragrance, but it also felt instantly comfortable
on the skin and applied smoothly and easily.
This cream can be used am & pm and is suitable for all skin types and I
would imagine a more combination skin type would particularly enjoy its texture.
I've only been using mine in the morning, as I had other
night creams on the go, but I'm about to also use both morning and evening.
I must make mention of the packaging, as it comes in
a solid glass jar, that has a more luxe feel about it than many
creams double the price and I'm happy to say it also comes with a spatula.
The Huxley products are well priced here in South Africa and are only
available through DERMASTORE
Truthfully this cream didn't WoW me on the glow factor front as much as
 I thought it would, but it does give the skin a dewy appearance which I liked.
I've thoroughly enjoyed applying it as part of my morning routine, as it's just one
 of those comfortable, reliable, all round everyday, well priced moisturisers
 and as my first K Beauty product, I'm happy I dipped my toe into the Korean waters and I think I may be dipping more toes into the water.
I would, without hesitation recommend this cream and re-purchase
it again myself...
HUXLEY MOROCCAN GARDENER BODY OIL {REVIEW}
For me HUXLEY is a relative new brand and it's my first dabble into the much
talked about Korean beauty brands.
As always heres a brief overview of the ethos of this Korean brand...
Huxley is a contemporary skincare brand from South Korea. Their formulations respect the skin barrier with minimalist, plant-derived ingredients. The key ingredient found in all Huxley products is Sahara Prickly Pear Seed Oil, a desert cactus and real wonder of nature. It contains unique phytochemicals that provide intensive moisturisation due to its excellent ability to retain water. It also supports skin barrier protection against environmental aggressors due to a high concentration of Vitamin E (Tocopherol), a potent antioxidant. With a 61% Linoleic acid content, Sahara Prickly Pear Seed Oil ensures a far lighter, fast-absorbing texture with a greater moisturising effect than other African oils, such as Argan oil.
Huxley products are manufactured at a cutting-edge facility in South Korea and preserved within high-quality packaging.
All products are vegan-friendly, Dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic.I recently received a 3ml sachet sample of the Moroccan Gardener Body Oil from the Korean skincare brand
HUXLEY
I am currently using their Glow Awakening Cream, which I'm enjoying, so
its a nice change to review a body product, although I'm not sure how much
of my body I can cover with 3mls of product...
Huxley Moroccan Gardener Body Oil is a light and luxurious body product containing Sahara Prickly Pear Seed Oil in addition to Huxley’s signature scent.
It respects and supports the skin barrier whilst offering a heightened
skincare experience.
Apply on a slightly damp skin after your bath or shower and massage
over your entire body until completely absorbed.
This is a lightweight, fast absorbing, non sticky body oil that provides
 deep moisturisation. The signature scent is very pleasant and non intrusive
and I would imagine that used in conjunction with the
 Huxley Body Wash and Body Lotion it would layer into a delightful lingering
fragrance of Green Leaves, Jasmine,Rose Lily,Gardenia and White Musk.
For me it's an "nice to have" product and not
a necessity, as always, my advice is...
 if your beauty budget is limited then prioritise your spend on face care
products, rather than on body products.
However if you are a lover of Body Oils I cant think of any reason
that you wouldn't enjoy this one from HUXLEY.
BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW {SEPTEMBER 2020}
Every month I review a variety of face, body and hair care products and
whilst each month I'm excited to try out the products that I've either bought
 myself or on occasion have been kindly sent by the brand to review,
some months my excitement goes up a notch and this coming month
is one of those...
I have two make-up products that I couldn't resist buying, my very first
 Korean skincare product
purchase and a new product launch from a brand that I
am trying for the first time, hence my elevated excitement levels.
1.
HUXLEY
SECRET OF SAHARA CREAM
GLOW AWAKENING
Huxley is a contemporary skincare brand that hails from South Korea and
has quickly gained a global presence and of the many Korean Beauty brands
available and there are MANY, Huxley was the brand that I had heard of.
Some months back I ordered the KBT Glowing Beauty Box collaboration
between Dermastore and KissBlush&Tell.
The box contained 3 full-size Glow enhancing products from Avène,
Exuviance and of course Huxley and they were all products and two
 were even brands that I hadn't tried before, so it was a no brainer
to order this box, which also offered a
decent saving over buying each item separately.
I have recently posted reviews on two of the products that were in the
 box and now the
Huxley Glow Awakening Cream is the last product for me to review.
 Click on the Pink Links to read those reviews
Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish Review
Avène Soothing Radiance Mask Review
Huxley Glow Awakening Cream is a medium-weight brightening
antioxidant moisturiser.
It protects the skin from environmental stressors, leaving skin hydrated
and with a healthy-looking glow
 and is suitable for all skin types, as always you will have to
give me 2-3 months for me to use fully and get back to you
 with my thoughts.
URBAN DECAY
STAY NAKED
CORRECTING CONCEALER
I'm  a huge fan of URBAN DECAY and I couldn't resist their very recent
50% OFF SALE
I used it as an opportunity to restock on some of my faves from the brand
 and I did buy 3 make-up items that I'd never tried before, well how could I
 miss out on taking advantage of the half price discount!
If you would like to read my URBAN DECAY SALE HAUL Click Here
I've heard great things about the STAY NAKED CONCEALER and I do love me
a good concealer, so check back during this month to read my review.
3.
URBAN DECAY
PERVERSION
VOLUMIZING MASCARA
If you have been around here for some years you will
know that I also love a good mascara and I have written so many
reviews on all price ranges and some of my favourites just so happen to be
from very affordable drugstore brands.
Sadly this isn't a drugstore priced mascara, but it promises lashes that are
Bigger,Blacker & Badder,
so I'm really looking forward to putting this mascara to the test.
*NOW POSTED*
4.
SVR
VITAMIN C ANTIOXIDANT
FOAM MASK
This exfoliating, brightening face mask was kindly sent to me from the
brand and of all skincare products an exfoliator is my favourite and
 should be a non negotiable product in everyones skin care routine.
This newly launched face mask speaks my beauty language, as i
exfoliates, smoothes and illuminates the skin’s complexion.
The mask is interestingly packaged in an aerosol format,
optimising the efficacy and properties of the stabilised vitamin C
by preventing it from coming into contact with air and light.
So be sure to pop back to see how I rate this can of foamy goodness.
