For this post I have literally taken my favourite 12 skincare products 

that I have tried and tested during 2020 and they're ones that I 

highly, highly recommend if you are looking for skincare recommendations.

Every year the selection of my fave products varies tremendously, however

 during 2020 my choices have been fairly well balanced, as I seem to have

a good mix of cleansing products/exfoliators/face masks/moisturisers 

and eye products.

By my own admission I've had a couple of regrets in 2020

re certain products that I wished I had tried earlier

and the BIODERMA Micelle Water was one of them. 

This pioneer product in terms of Micellar Waters, celebrated its 25th Birthday

 in 2020 and that's how long it has taken me to give this now iconic beauty 

product a try and it has been my loss.

I have found myself reaching for this one, more often than any other 

I have used, as it's so easy to pick up and cleanse my skin in the morning 

and again as a first cleanse in the evening.

This is a must have product in your beauty routine, as it truly outshines

or should I say Out Cleanses the rest.

I've never been one to get too hyped up about those "Hyped Up" beauty 

products, as often the product reviews and endorsements are paid 

for and sometimes 

are not a true reflection of the product. However this is not the case with the

 Cleansing Gel from the UK brand OSKIA.

Formulated to purify, revitalise and strengthen the skin, 

the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is a unique illuminating gel-to-oil facial cleanser, 

that works effortlessly to remove makeup and impurities and can

 be used on all skin types.

If you are a fan of gel cleansers then you will no doubt enjoy the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel, as it's a hard working cleanser that just gets on 

with the job at hand, without leaving your skin feeling or looking like its 

had a workout and I'm now officially a FAN...

Being the first product that I'm trying from the French skincare brand SVR

was a peeling treatment and it got me excited.

This micro-peeling creamy foam is a cocktail of wonderful active ingredients 

to awaken any dull, tired skin and boost the skins radiance. 

I have been reaching for this foaming beauty every time, as it

delivers on all that it claims.

It's quick, pleasurable to use and leaves the skin looking brighter, smoother

and comfortable, which isn't always the case post exfoliation.

So if you are looking to change up your exfoliating product, with the

emphasis on radiance then this is one, without doubt, to consider.

*During 2020 this product had a packaging/name & formulation overhaul

and whilst this is the older version on the product, I am hoping to

try the new formulation this year and then write my review on the newer one,

but for now this version was one of my top 12 "faves" 2020.

 I am assured that the product remains very similar, just more effective*

As you should all know by now exfoliation is a key product to a good, 

effective anti-ageing skincare routine.

This was another 1st for me in 2020 and this product came highly recommended

by Tori from KissBlush&Tell.

EXUVIANCE hails from the US and their 

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish is a completely 

innovative exfoliator that masters a triple-action approach 

to skin transformation in a single yet powerful treatment. 

It contains a unique blend of physical, chemical and enzyme rejuvenators. 

Again highly recommend if you want to take home exfoliation up a notch.

24H MOISTURIZER

LUMENE is a Finnish brand and having only ever used 3 of their

products I find myself including 2 on my Top 12 list and unfortunately

the third appeared on my Top 3 Disappointing list To view that list

However thats not deterred me from hopefully using and reviewing more

 products in the future.

I have completed fallen in love with this cream that

absolutely delivers on all it promises and I would go as far to say that this

super hydrating moisturiser is one of, if not, the best hydrating products 

I have ever tried and it's been a real bonus in 

my skincare regime and my skin has responded well to it.

HUXLEY

SECRET OF SAHARA

GLOW AWAKENING CREAM

This was another brand/product that Tori from KissBlush&Tell raved about

and my 1st Korean skincare product to try, yes I was late to the Korean 

Beauty party also...

The Secret Sahara range has been formulated to be rich in antioxidants that moisturise and brighten dull, lack lustre, stressed skins, whilst offering 

protection from pollution and the 

Glow Awakening Cream appears to be the star of the show.

Truthfully this cream didn't WoW me on the glow factor front as much as

 I thought it would, but it does give the skin a dewy appearance which I liked.

I've thoroughly enjoyed applying it as part of my morning routine, as it's just

 one of those comfortable, reliable, all round everyday, well priced moisturisers

 and as my first K Beauty product, I'm happy I dipped my toe 

into the Korean waters and I think I may be dipping more toes into the water.

I would, without hesitation recommend this cream and re-purchase 

it again myself...

Just to clarify that I try many beauty products over the course of a two month period

 most of which I purchase myself, so I'm not obliged in anyway to write a glowing review. 

Due to this you can be assured that I only include the stand out products in my 

Monthly Favourites post and ultimately they're the ones that I recommend

you to check out or those that I personally rate and would repurchase again.

VITA LIBERATA
BEAUTY BLUR

I find myself reaching for the Vita Liberate Beauty Blur so often and whilst 

my generous 10ml size has lasted far longer than I thought it would,

 I'm now down to scraping out the insides of the tube.

Its been such an easy to wear face product, especially for those no make up days 

as it miraculously blurs, tints and corrects whilst giving my skin a radiant glow

and I know its expensive, but I'm going to have to take that plunge and purchase

when Woolworths have their next beauty 25% off promo , as that will ease

the pain.

NORDIC HYDRA

AERATING GEL MASK

This face mask from the Nordic skincare brand LUMENE has been an absolute

pleasure to use and I'm so disappointed that my deluxe sample has finished.

The cooling gel formula not only felt great on my skin but it instantly

gave a surge of hydration and I loved this product.

This range is not available in South Africa, so its been added onto my overseas

 beauty shopping list.

This was a product that I re-visited after being a huge fan of the 

Gatineau Floracil Eye Make-Up Remover many years ago and I have fallen in love

with it all over again, as it ticks all my eye make-up remover boxes,

its effective, soothing, gentle and fragrance free.

I was really hoping that this OSKIA RENAISSANCE CLEANSING GEL would be good

 and not disappoint, as so many of the super hyped beauty products do 

and guess what...

it's just as good as all the beauty editors and bloggers say it is, so much so that I can already 

announce that this will make it onto my Top 10 Skincare product list

BYTERRY

BLACKSTAR

BYTERRY is a French brand that I have bought a couple of products from, 

so as you can imagine I was super excited when I received a couple of PR gifts.

I was blown away by this cream eyeshadow, its creamy, easy to apply, blend

and long wearing.

I would go as far to say that if you're looking to simplify and streamline 

your eyeshadow wardrobe, then this is THE product that can give you 

that freedom, as you only need a couple of shades of these 

BYTERRY BLACKSTAR COLOUR FIX CREAM EYESHADOW 

to cover all your eyeshadow/liner needs and I will be purchasing another 

shade soon.

OSKIA RENAISSANCE CLEANSING GEL {REVIEW}

This is what I love about the Beauty Advent Calendars you inevitably discover new brands and products, some of which you may have never looked to try before.

Here is another great find and it comes from a brand I know little about and again it's 

unfortunately not available here in South Africa.

The OSKIA Skincare brand hails from the UK and was founded by Georgie Cleeve back

in 2009 and has been awarded no less than 135 International Beauty Awards in its short life and as always here is a brief overview of the brand.

This vitamin rich, yet gentle formula is perfect for repairing and soothing sun damaged and dry skin, while fortified bio-available vitamins and fruit enzymes remove dead skin cells and enhance collagen production.Beginning as a rich pink balm, this unique cleanser melts into the skin and turns milky when mixed with water, then rinses cleanly away, along with any daily grime and makeup.I find it very similar in consistency to my favourite balm cleanser from EVE LOM

 Fragranced of refreshing rose and chamomile it immediately soothes the senses, while the skin is left surprisingly soft and supple, it also feels revived and fresh.

As always gel cleansers are super easy to use, just massage onto dry skin, add a little water to emulsify into a white milk and then remove with warm water or damp muslin cloth.

If you are a fan of gel cleansers and especially of the EVE LOM Cleanser then you will no doubt enjoy the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel, as its a hard working cleanser that just gets on with the job at hand, without leaving your skin feeling or looking like its had a workout and I'm now officially a FAN...

BEAUTY PRODUCTS CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW {JANUARY 2020}

"Lets start the year as I mean to go on" 

by bringing you a variety of exciting beauty product reviews and this being not only the first post of 2020, but it's also the first of my monthly 

"Beauty Products Currently Under Review" post of the year.

I am so excited with the first batch of products that I will be trying out over the next 

few days, weeks, and in some cases, months.

1.

First product up for review is a recently launched eye product 

GLAMGLOW BRIGHTEYES

When I went overseas in September it was sold out everywhere, so it was added

to my shopping list and as always a family member was due to come over to South Africa 

meaning that I received it quite recently.

Several overseas beauty editors have raved about this product and being an eye product 

I was sold. I will, as always bring you my honest opinion once I've given it a good test.

If you have been following my blog or IG you know that 2019 was the year that I discovered several products from the skincare brand ELEMIS.

You may also know that the Lookfantastic Beauty Advent Calendar 2019 has supplied me with yet another product of theirs to try, in the form of the

ELEMIS PRO-COLLAGEN MARINE CREAM 

The generous 30ml size should keep me going for 2-3 months, even though this award winning Anti-Ageing day cream promises to show results after only 2 weeks, I think I will keep to my tried and tested method of waiting until the jar's finished, so only expect a detailed review then.

Having reviewed and loved two of BYTERRY products in 2019 I was kindly sent this one 

by Metropolitain Cosmetics who are the sole retailers of BYTERRY products 

here in South Africa.

They claim that this easy-to-use eyeshadow pen glides smoothly and effortlessly onto eyelids in a single stroke, brightens and lifts eyelids, lasts all day long without smudging or smearing.

Not being a fan of cream eyeshadows you can be assured that this product will have to seriously impress me if I'm to give it a good review, so lets see.

Another product to be sent for review by Metropolitian Cosmetics and 

one that I am excited to try, just so happens to be my first StriVectin product, the

StriVectin TRI-PHASE DAILY GLOW TONER

I have used the PIXI GLOW TONIC for several years and despite trying a couple of other similar products I still maintain that its the best.

Could I be moving out my GLOW TONIC to make way for this GLOW TONER from StriVectin? Well check back late this month to find out.

This next product has also been bestowed with much praise and accolades from

 beauty Editors and Bloggers worldwide and I have to admit it has been

on my beauty radar for sometime and thankfully the 

Lookfantastic Beauty Advent Calendar 2019

came to my rescue by giving me a 35ml size to try out as opposed to me laying out

"much cash" to buy one.

I make it no secret that I'm a cleansing milk/lotion fan, but I have been converted over

to a couple of alternate cleansing formulations i.e.Cleansing Balms and even a Cleansing Oil, so could this be one of those products that takes me over to the other side of cleansing?
