FRIDAY FOLLOW-UP {MAY 2023}

WoW its been a while since I posted a Friday Follow-Up post
where it lets you know how I feel about some of the products that I
 have already previously reviewed.
Sometimes I have extra info to add to the original review and on
the very rare occasion I have done a complete about turn
on the product.

~~~~~~
DERMALOGICA
NECK FIT
CONTOUR SERUM
"In short, this serum for the neck was exactly what I was looking for
as it seriously delivers on all of its claims.
It visibly lifts, tightens, firms and tones the neck and décolleté
Smoothes fine lines and helps protect skin against pollution
Reduces the appearance of skin ageing.
Dermalogica says the tube should last approx 6 weeks if used twice
a day, however I would say this is a cautious estimate as I have
been using for longer than 6 weeks and I still seem to have
plenty left in my tube."
*I'm happy to report back, that despite the hefty price tag and its
roller applicator, it did last way beyond the 6 weeks that
Dermalogica claimed.
This means the product offers a relative low cost price per use
and considering how good this product IS, its a winner.
KÉRASTASE
GENESIS
FONDANT RENFORÇATEUR
Very similar to skincare, some ranges just don't bring out
the best in your skin and its the same for haircare ranges and I fear
this is what's happening with the KÉRASTASE GENESIS range.
I found it to be difficult to rinse out of my hair and then it proceeded to
leave an unpleasant oily coating on the hair shaft.
I gave up after several attempts to find the ideal amount to use
I enjoyed both the shampoo and the blow dry primer, however initially
the conditioner was a NO NO, so I set it aside to try again later, sadly
it didn't improve and it did appear on my Most Disappointing Products list.
DERMALOGICA
SKINPERFECT PRIMER
SPF 30
I have another Dermalogica product to include in this feedback post.
I was super impressed with this rather unassuming product that
Illuminates+Primes+Protects.
I love a multi functional product and it's especially useful if you are
time strapped or just having a lazy skincare day.
As I wrote in my original review:
"My only reservation about my new "skin find" is the size and price.
It comes in a rather small 22ml size tube, yet it has a hefty price tag.
Dermalogica do say it lasts for approximately 63 uses and they include
a tube dispenser to help get the most product out of the tube."
I adore this product, but I'm not sure that the price tag of R1,100 per
22ml tube is sustainable for my current beauty budget.
Bottom line is, this tube is just too small of a quantity and as you can
 imagine it didn't last too long, so I think this product despite me loving
it, will have to be sadly dropped from my skincare routine.
BY TERRY
CRAYON KHÔL TERRYBLY
 EYELINER
I hate to be including this product, but despite it being the best eye pencil
 I have ever used, it unfortunately has a drawback.
"This eye pencil/eyeliner has an incredibly soft ultra-creamy texture,
it's a perfect softness and smudginess for the oldies to use, whilst it
doesn't pull our already stretched skin on our eyelids."
There is a pay off for this softness, so be prepared to plough through
these eye pencils, as its the only one that I have completely finished.
It hasn't stopped me re-purchasing, but please be aware its the quickest
 eye pencil you will ever finish.
FRIDAY FOLLOW-UP {SEPTEMBER 2019} #TBT POST
A throwback to a Friday Follow-Up post I wrote back in September
2019 regarding products that I managed to take off my
UK Shopping List.
UK travel or any overseas travel ground to a halt, over the 2 years
of the COVID Pandemic and for us here in South Africa the UK is still
out of bounds to us, which is very frustrating.
Not knowing when I can get back to see my family has also meant that
my ongoing UK Shopping List has not been added to, but you can be
assured that when we are allowed to travel, without the 10 days
of quarantine, I will have my list updated and ready.
I have added a couple of new update notes for today 29/09/2021
 in Pink...
~~~~~~

27/09/2019
Below is the post I wrote several weeks ago about what was on my
UK Shopping List, so I thought I would do a follow up post to let you
know which of the products I did actually purchase and which
 I didn't and why.
I will be writing a detailed review on each of the products that I bought.

~~~~~~
The excitement is mounting, as I'm off to the UK and Dubai later this week
and as always I have a long beauty shopping list.
I did write a post a couple of weeks ago as to what is on my Repurchase Shopping List
but this post will comprise of premium products that are a mix of new launches
or just products new to me.
Sadly these products are not readily available in South Africa and if they are,
 then you're paying a premium, as its often through a pricey third retailer.
Having either read or heard nothing but good reports about these products I've added
 them to my list.
These are the products that I want to investigate further, which could maybe
lead to a purchase or two, but I'll have to choose carefully, as they're all
premium products with premium prices.
1.
BYTERRY
Baume de Rose
29/09/2021
I'm still loving this product and have since bought many more
 BYTERRY
products including the Baume de Rose Crayon.
27/09/2019
I finally purchase one and so far I'm really enjoying and a full review
will be
up early in October.
This has been on my list, for what seems like ages, and I always put it on the
"back beauty burner" in lieu of other purchases, but on this trip I'm determined
to purchase one and then I can finally strike it off my list once and for all.
BYTERRY is a French Luxury brand and their best seller
Baume de Rose is considered the 'Rolls-Royce' of lip balms and is a cult favourite
 around the world and being a Lip Balm junkie I have to try this at some point.
2.
Summer Fridays
Jet Lag Mask
29/09/2021
Well I can finally report that I managed to buy this product earlier in 2021
here in South Africa and I love it and it certainly didn't disappoint.
27/09/2019
This was a difficult product to track down, as so many cosmetic
departments and stores didn't stock, in fact most hadn't even
heard of it, but I finally found it in
Selfridges however it was a hefty £42, so I decided to leave it
on the shelf and its remained on my UK Shopping List for next time,
so I didn't get to put it to the test on the return flights,
as previously hoped...
I love a good mask and this multi-purpose offering from Summer Fridays appeals to me,
 so I want to investigate a little further into this relative unknown brand,
unknown to me at least.
This mask is perhaps their most famous product, thanks to Kim Kardashian, so I'm
curious to know what all the hype is about and if I do buy one I will get to put
it to the test
on my 2 long haul return flights back to SA.
3.
VITA LIBERATA
Beauty Blur
29/09/2021
Again I finally managed to get my hands on a small size via a
beauty box some months after writing the update below
and "Oh My Goodness" it's divine and a replacement is on the cards.
27/09/2019
Oh my goodness this product was literally sold out everywhere I went and
trust me I went everywhere Harrods,Selfridges,
Harvey Nichols, SpaceNK, Boots and Marks & Spencer,
so this remains on my list...
VITA LIBERATA is the "crème de la crème" range when it comes to all things
 "Self Tan" related and following the hugely popular creation of their Body Blur
we now have skin tone optimiser which will enhance and perfect the look of
your complexion.
Beauty Blur combines all the skin finishing benefits of best-selling Body Blur
with a skin tone optimiser, HD primer and effective Advoganic skincare for your
most radiant glow.
I'm keen to test their 4 shade options and hopefully I will find the correct shade
and buy one in readiness for our SA summer.
4.
LUMENE
Invisible Illumination Instant Glow
Fresh Skin Tint
29/09/2021
This products still illusive and remains on my list.
27/09/2019
Another illusive product sadly, so I may have to order
online and guess my shade, so its another that remains on my list...
This product from the award winning Finnish skincare brand LUMENE may well be
a slight overlap with the previous product,
so I doubt very much that I will purchase both, but it's for sure one that I want
to look at, after hearing several goods reports about.
6.
Omorovicza
Queen of Hungary Mist
29/09/2021
I also received a 2nd spray in a Beauty Advent Calendar in 2019 and
whilst I like the product I have used a couple of similar, that I prefer more.
27/09/2019
I picked up a 30ml size at SpaceNK, so I'm
looking forward to comparing it with other similar
products that I've tried...
Again another rather obscure brand here in South Africa, but this Hungarian brand
has beauty bloggers and beauty editors globally raving about this Hungarian Mist.
Being a sucker for facial sprays and mists this again has been some time on my shopping list,
 but always got pushed back down to the bottom due to its price, so it may
well end up suffering the same fate on this trip, but lets see what happens.
I also want to test 2 new fragrances whilst I'm over in the UK, the one brand
we don't get in SA and the other we do, but its just not launched yet.
27/09/2019
The packaging is stunning and my first impressions were
great, as it has top notes of fresh citrus, which I love,
but sadly on the dry down it turned quite bitter on me...
Limone Di Sicilia from AERIN is on my list to test as I adore fresh, citrusy florals
and this sounds like a fragrance I would really enjoy.
The packaging is simply stunning and no doubt its way out of my budget,
but I'm checking the range out regardless.
27/09/2019
Whilst the packaging is stunning and the bottle is so tactile,
 it disappointingly
wasn't my type of fragrance.
Another new fragrance launch is IDÔLE by LANCÔME
I'm sure this will be launched very soon into South Africa, but whilst I'm over in the UK
I will be sure a have a sniff.
As always I will post my product reviews once I've put any of these purchases to the test.
Please let me know  in the comments below, if you have tried any of the above and
 what your thoughts were, as I would hate to waste my money.
FRIDAY FOLLOW-UP PART 2 {OCTOBER 2020}
 Several weeks ago I uploaded a Friday Follow-Up post and decided
that there was too much feedback to confine to the one
post, so here is the second half.
To catch up on the first half click here
Back in August I wrote a review on the
EXUVIANCE TRIPLE MICRODERMABRASION FACE POLISH
which I highly rate and you can read my full review here
I have since discovered that they have recently changed the name, formula
and packaging of this product, which irritates me slightly, but the formula
appears to have remained very similar to the older version, but it seems
to have more Lactobionic Acid to boost hydration and I'm sure I will give
it a try once my old tube has finished and post another review
 to compare the two.
It's now called
 EXUVIANCE PROFESSIONAL GLYCOLIC POLISH
~~~~~~

Last month I reviewed the
L'OCCITANE INVIGORATING FACE & EYE MASK
in the pod format, which allowed for 2-3 applications and I enjoyed
it so much that I recently purchased the full size face mask.
To read my full review click here

What appealed to me about this product is the fact you can apply to both
the face and eye area.Its divine straight from the fridge ensuring that its both refreshing and de-puffing on the skin and eye area.
It's melting sorbet texture is easy to apply and allows this multi tasking mask
to be a perfect choice for those hot summer days.

I think that is all my follow-up news for now, so until next time
please be safe...

FRIDAY FOLLOW-UP {OCTOBER 2020}

I had almost forgotten about my Friday Follow-Up blogposts, as it was
way back in November 2019, since I last posted one, so this
is way over due.
Here is a quick general catch up and some feedback on some previously
tried and tested products.

My latest news:
Normally during the last quarter of the year I visit my
family in the UK, however since there hasn't been any travel for
most of the year I haven't been and this in turn has led to me not
buying a Beauty Advent Calendar to open daily throughout December.
I have had a Beauty Advent Calendar for the past 3 years and the
one year I was lucky to have had two to open daily.

I am a total Beauty Advent Calendar addict, so this makes me very sad
that I wont be partaking this year in receiving my daily beauty treat and
sharing it with you over on my Instagram Stories,
 but in the bigger scheme of things, it's not the end of the world.
However this could all change if I happen to find something of interest
here in South Africa...

Product Feedback:
Excitedly over the past 12 months I have managed to remove several
products off my beauty 'Wish List" (only 2 are available in South Africa)
 all 3 just so happen to be Luxury foundations.
in the form of:

1.

GIORGIO ARMANI
Luminous Silk Foundation

This foundation was added to my wish list after trying out a free
sample and I was lucky enough then purchase the foundation some
months later.
After saying in my original review that I wouldn't part with
"Lots of Cashes" to buy this foundation, I did and I don't regret it.
I'm still loving everything about this foundation except the fact that
it's now nearing the end and it's one that will be added to my
UK Beauty Shopping List, which by the way, is ever increasing.

2.

BYTERRY
Hyaluronic Hydra Foundation

With age I'm realising that treatment foundations are becoming a must
for me, as the skincare benefits are invaluable to my ageing skin.
I've become a huge fan of BYTERRY and I'm expanding my list
of products to 6 very soon.
I crossed this off my list during lockdown thanks to a 20% discount code
and as with all BYTERRY products they fall into that Luxury price
bracket. I highly recommend this foundation and to find out more
check out my full review here

3.

ZELENS
Youth Glow Foundation

As though I've not purchased enough Luxury treatment foundations I
have, just this week, ordered yet one more to add to my collection.
This is another purchase that was driven as a result of trying a sample.
This product theoretically didn't have time to make it onto my Wish List,
as its only happened over the past couple of months.
To read my review of the sample click here

I have now realised that I have so much more to fill you in on regarding
follow ups on products etc. and its too much for this post,
 so expect another Friday Follow-Up post soon.

29 November 2019

FRIDAY FOLLOW-UP {NOVEMBER 2019}

Its been many months since I wrote a Friday Follow-Up post to let you know
how I feel about some of the products I have previously reviewed.
Sometimes I have extra to add to my review, on other occasions I grow to like
a product more with time, which is the case with my 1st product.
My 2nd was simply that I missed the way my skin looked and felt when using the product and Black Friday discounts came along that swung me to order the product..

1.

CAUDALIE
GLYCOLIC PEEL MASK

I first reviewed this product back in March 2019 and despite saying in my review that
I wouldn't re-purchase, well guess what, I have repurchased.

As the months went by I found myself reaching more and more for this Peel Mask,
I also discovered that if I left the mask on for the recommended maximum time of
10 minutes it really came into its own and its proved to be my favourite peel.

On my skin, it starts to tingle around 9-10 mins of being on and that's my cue
to remove.
It leaves the skin incredibly soft,smooth and brighter, which is what Caudalie
claimed it would do, but I simply wasn't leaving it on for the full 10 minutes to experience the full peel effect, so thankfully
I did eventually discover the absolute wonders of this mask.

 2.

GIORGIO ARMANI
SILK FOUNDATION

I only recently reviewed this luxury foundation in the form of a 7 day supply that I
was sent by Armani Beauty and whilst I enjoyed the sample and couldn't fault the product
this is what I had to say:

"From my experiences with both high and mid priced foundations, they don't seem to offer much more nowadays in terms of formulation,coverage,luminosity etc. than some of the very good drug store foundations.
As always I prefer to invest my cash into anti-ageing skincare products than
high end makeup"

Whilst I still stand by what I say in the above I'm going to make an exception
re this Silk Foundation from GIORGIO ARMANI, as I surprisingly missed using this
foundation once my 7 day supply had finished, so much so, that I have ordered one today
from overseas, on a Black Friday 25% discount, which softens the cost somewhat.
Call it my Christmas treat to myself...
